Kobo's Awakened main weapon throws out 10 raindrops and they are not affected by the Projectile Up Stamp. The umbrella swing from her main weapon counts as a melee attack, while the rain from her main weapon counts as a ranged attack. Both the umbrella swing and the rain gain the full benefit from Anvil boosts without its extra damage being divided. The rain from her main weapon is not affected by the Growth upgrade. The Bomb Stamp is very good on Kobo as each raindrop can activate its own explosion.
The amount of Praise she gains from healing is based on her current max hp, where healing 100% hp will fill up the whole Praise bar. This means that fixed healing such as from Nurse’s Horns will give less Praise as Kobo’s max hp increases. For Hardcore mode, the hp needed to be healed seems to be about 30. Taking damage to the shield of the Body Pillow will not lose Praise and taking hits with it will still gain Tantrum stacks. Tantrum will activate even if Kobo takes a hit that does zero damage, such as a dodge from Headphones or during invincibility frames from leveling up.
Kobo’s special counts as a ranged attack.

I believe the "Praise is maxed at 20" refers to the HP healed, like 6 hp from a Max Nurses Horns out of 20.
One set I like to run on Kobo (despite being seemingly counter intuitive) is Just Bandage, since it's a percentage based healing item that'll basically max out the Praise meter with enough damage taken to regenerate (so long as max HP is big enough) -- mix that with defensive items like breastplate (and maybe an extra healing item for insurance), and I'm chilling with the Tantrum procs and active Praise buffs.
My TL; DR on Praise: you don't need to avoid taking damage with a big enough heal, but it's a playstyle option nonetheless.

I tested each of the defense/healing items and found Just Bandage to be quite counterproductive; it's one of those weird ones where in early stages it's good and in endless it's good, but in the middle ground it felt so inconsistent. You'll find yourself either never fully healing off all the damage you take and needing to take body pillow or headphones anyway, or you never end up getting your praise buff reliably despite surviving which severely hampers your DPS outside of endless scale.
In early stages this doesn't matter cus it's easy content and in endless it doesn't matter cus you wind up affording to ignore the praise boost and can grab like 500 HP anyway, but in between those two sides you have neither handicap which just makes Praise feel like a liability when you have to schedule your kites and dives so heavily around it. I do like the prospect of Breastplate though! I'll probably play around with that sometime this week in my own time. In most regular rounds you'd just have Membership anyway - Kobo notably of all characters I've showcased so far missed Membership the most.
