i love playing Kaela casually but when i started grinding endless scores she became probably the most polarizing idol I've played so far mostly due to her blacksmith skill because you can start an endless run and get 5 free anvils from the skill or 15 to 20 if you're lucky and that makes a huge difference in terms of progression for any kind of strategy but the rest of her kit is great, especially no pressure which is an amazing late game kiting/killing tool for farming Yagoos until 38/40 minutes but in terms of the more broken idols for endless scores she's kinda in the middle of the pack though her skills give you a clear goal to aim for in endless.
I could only imagine the amount of RNG is involved in topping scores with this character; it's exactly as you said, you could snap up so many early anvils that you're way ahead of the curve or not even grab any meaningful amount until post-20 which is so far beyond diminishing returns at that point that you might as well sack your run like a speedrunner would. @@Petrisha I'll sum up my rng. So far my best Kaela run I've had all 7 items, a collab and 2 level 7 weapons done by level 40 which is insane luck.
