1) you used the wrong size bit for that bolt
2) that screw doesn't have the same sheering force holding power as that thick-ass bolt.
3) faster doesn't always mean better.
Remember, kids. Fast, Cheap, or Quality. You can have two of those, but never all three.

Using an impact on the 1/2 bolt would be a more fair comparison though the thrulok would have easily won in any case!
