- Is Prada Saffiano Leather Worth it?
'Saffiano' leather is a textured, heavily finished leather.
The good: Uniform grain pattern. Scratch and water resistance. Will look new for a longer time.
The bad: Feels too much like plastic. Not for fans of natural looking and feeling leather. Will not patina.
My estimate to make a similar bag is $120 ($50 leather +$70 labor)
If you like ultra corrected and uniform looking leather, this may be for you, but similar bags can be found for much cheaper.

Add a limiter/compression plug in [during "post"] (many can be found got free or have a "time limit" -videos definitely short enough) and that will help. Most podcast mics (used/sold at the consumer level), come with free plug/ins.

I believe that Coach leather bags, Dooney & Bourke and Wilson Leather were known for quality material and workmanship. Their name came from quality that last forever. Alot of other designer brands are no better than their cheap knock- offs.
The vintage Coach Bags are the best. Like the man said, “if you want to experience the bag with your senses…,”. The look feel and smell of unadulterated leather is what I look for. Not this plastic though n top of leather. I feel the plastic makes the leather deteriorate faster.

I have a stamped leather, camel colored hobo from The Sak I paid $120 for. Looks new 10 years later (mink oil, store in bag). Best bag of my entire life.
Still have several of my Sak bags from high school. They are between 25 and 20 years old. Still look new. A couple of them I was the 2nd owner of them to begin with.

Not sure where he is from, but I always trust a Russian word on autenticity. They will even prove it to you. Lots of them are skilled craftsmen that can easily detect quality of items.
I also go on th feel/texture of an item. Coach is still in the game of quality name brand.

That's it exactly! I want leather that I can enjoy with my senses. I love a buttery soft leather, or a thick, workhorse leather that will get beaten and scarred but have character. Those type (like the Prada here) of bags are just not it for me.

Yes I agree but I still love Coach. Many Many brands are not as good of quality due to the higher cost of materials. I buys all my bags and wallets from the outlet.
I have that purse and I love it. I did get it 2nd hand. But it has a lot of versatility with the long sporty strap & the gold chain u can mix & match.
Dooney brand makes some beautiful handbags I feel even better than high end brands. I’ll just save my money!

I've never had a $20 bag that lasted. My mom was this way and never understood why her bags never lasted. She only carries one bag after all. Bought her a good quality bag from Furla and it lasted her a decade before the interior war off. The exterior steal was immaculate. There is a price point for true quality. I'd say about $150-$200. Anything more is branding. Anything less is either a good deal or garbage leather.

I had 2 bags ( white and black ) by Prada from a real leather. And had a wallet made from other material by Prada , as well . . Used it for so many years constantly. Especially the wallet a black bag . No complaint. Perfect quality.

This was my dream bag brand when I was a teenager. I wanted the black, saffiano leather tote bag. When I actually grew up, I couldn't justify the price even though I finally had the money. It felt so cheap to me.

as a fashion designer I've been intrigued by luxury fashion I think purely because it's what I've been conditioned to thinking is the highest offering of it but I've realised truth isn't sensational (coated leather) so it's swapped for a fantastical actualisation of the thing (Safiano Leather). It's what I love about fashion, it's mostly unrealistic but I'm bothered by deciet. I think somehow there needs to be accountability when it comes to things like reputation in luxury products such as being honest about how your product is made and what it's made of. I think similar to influencers having to acknowledge if a post is an ad I think it should become culture to be honest about your offering. LV is open about their canvas being coated. How is this not coated leather? it'll stop things like fads (pleather) being dubbed replacements to leather but pleather being plastic (we have a plastic problem? maybe we shouldn't make more?)

In the Bible it says, you only suppose to have one purse. My pockets not deep enough to buy several leather purse. Investing in one good nutural color, leather quality purse, bookbag, briefcase, ect; that can go with any and everything you wear, is good and last a lifetime. i love this definetly disputes the consumerism mentality here in the states,, it took away my wistful wishes of having these status symbols that in the end are overpriced and not really worth it

Nope I would buy other bag designs but not this one.
I had Prada bag, I found at goodwill store. I carried it for awhile, then went back to my Walmart special. I like that one much more and nobody knows it's from Walmart.except me! Once the tag is off it, it can be anything I want it to be! The savings got passed on to charity.
