don't say that. arraxor is overhyped in terms of difficulty. I'm such a noob pvmer but rax is pretty easy unless you plan on going past 100 enrage. don't be intimidated
3rd attempt got to p4 solo just need to clean up my prayer flicking might go to condo to practice idk free death week is making this easier for sure. Nex is actually really fun to learn, still haven’t gotten a good drop yet but oh well still fun
This is golden!!! i was struggeling so much with this bos on practice mode, while using other guides. now i got 33 kills and can consistently get to 100 enrage.
I still mess up fase 4 to much where i get flustered en prayerflick wrong and stuff, but we are getting there.
i hope you will make guides like this for most or all engame pvm bosses!

Incredible guide, i just joined rs again after 10 years so i get a little overwhelmed sometimes. You went into depth about everything and that took so much pressure off. Great guide! I was struggling at first but now that i upgraded to an Essence Of Finality with Darkbow spec i am wrecking the spider.

Well done man. Good guide, got it first go.
One thing to note, I just noticed there's a defensive ability called Cease, and if you hotbar it (I have it on S for stop), you can immediately stop attacking Araxxor if you see the web shield without having to click away (which is so much better for new players as clicking back to your original position can really mess up new players and cause unnecessary stress).

I didn't know that the Highly Acidic Spiders gave damage reduction, I thought they only increased the enrage

*Correction* Araxxor IS susceptible to the inquisitors staff EXCEPT on phase 4. The same applies to terrasaur maul and ranged form. Hexhunter bow does work for Araxxor and Araxxi as well, but generally bakriminel bolts will be better with a crossbow.
Like I mentioned previously maging araxxor really sucks being attacked with melee, which is why I don't recommend it but the setup is there anyway, you will eat a lot more food.
As for more melee tips when meleeing the ranged form make sure to stand out of melee distance so you don't get smashed with melee attacks.
And the style of Araxxor DOES effect your hilt chance.
As always if I forgot anything please let me know below I spent countless hours on this guide but it's inevitable with all the nuances in PVM that I forgot something!
How about a "medium" mage setup? I.e. Virtus armor + inquisitor + nox staff? It is a great guide but as a primary mage user I feel a bit neglected here :D
Runescape in general doesn't have much melee love. Heck, most games don't. They tend to reward styles that can keep distance.

Not going to lie. I did not kill the mirrorbacks and took massive damage in phase 3. I am totally a bossing noob and appreciate this informative guide.
Thanks for this guide your vids are very clear and to the point. There is very little, if any, fluff in them or annoying music lol. It really helped especially the tip on clearing the minions if that trail is open. I didn't know that clearing them would permanently remove them from the later stages. One tip I think that helps with the minions is moving out into the first room because seeing them around the big boss graphic can be very hard. I frequently found myself having to use the targeting keys to find the mirrorback hidden under the boss. The enchanted ruby bolts also greatly helped and I found the last phase ending sooner than I expected. One thing that isn't 100% clear here is that the charging mechanic is only on the darkness path. I also tried the onslaught tip but found it too hard to do all the steps for it while paying attention to the prayer flicking at the same time. One thing I'd also add to your vids is a review of your action bar and if revo is good/bad for that boss.
Staying away from Araxxor in the last phase is really important so you have time to identify the attack because the magic attack is fast and can come hot on the heels of the ranged attack.
Another thing for ranged users is watch out when popping death's swiftness. I swear everytime I popped it Araxx would drop her net and it would be in range of the swiftness damage circle and I'd have to just eat up the damage. It wasn't a lot but it was annoying. Also be very careful of using AOEs (like ricochet) on the minions unless you are 100% sure there is no mirroback hiding in the swarm. If you hit Araxx while it is out you will take lots of damage.
For beginners I recommend carrying a potent of restoration as an emergency protection from "oops" moments. I sometimes messed up and let myself get in trouble in phase 4 and found it had popped. I also have the potent of life on my max cape. Prayer flicking in phase 4 is your primary job, after that running around and remembering to toss out attacks. Make sure your prayers are keybound and your food eating action is also bound.
Still, after watching this video, and investing in some extra gear, I was able to do all 4 Araxxor runs on my first try for my reaper task and dip my greater ensouled cloth in her goo. My 2nd try was a whole 54 seconds better than my first :D I also tried it in necro gear but didn't do as well.
This was perfect I got my first kills and completed the reaper task on top of that thanks to this guide. I only have one question i do not seem to be able to stall at phase 4 during the cut scene am i missing the window some how?

Fun fact nuz, if you're maxed you don't need a kill to atune the portal to a boss. That only applies to wars retreat 😊

You didn't mention shatter? I don't know if it's not good for range but I melee araxxor so for non-darkness paths I apply the shards when they are on not on cool down. I start phase 4 with sgb spec(ioth) then berserk then after that before rax reaches 25k I apply shatter and if I do it right phase 4 is over in like 20 seconds. Thoughts?
Got 55 kc at rax a few days ago (I still suck at it though,lol) but I learned several good things in this video, that should help me push higher engages. Right now I think my highest enrage kill was 140%
Ive never attempted Raxx yet but imo its one of the coolest boss fights
A little trick is to use something like frag shot, then resonance when Araxxi goes into her web. Avoids the 5k heal

One more tip for people since they will be doing this due to necro is when cleave comes and you get pulled in just use surge or escape after being pulled and you'll be just fine
tad off topic but does anyone know if you can duo araxxor for the famous achievment (kill a list of bosses including araxxor) part of req for comp cape? a clan member said they had someone do it for them but wiki says you cant. i've tried a number of times to beat this boss and cant seem to. only 2 reqs off comp cape this being one of them.

I dont know if I am weird, but I find Araxxor way easier at high enrage levels, mainly because if you mastered the resonance ability, you basically get free full heals all the time.
This is definitely the best boss guide I've ever seen and by far the best one for Arraxor! Wish I had seen this when I first learned. Would have saved a ton of trips to Death's office!

Whats the dif between the different Bak bolt types? I get the enchanted ones obviously but if the damages are the same for say reg rubies and diamonds, is there any difference?
Ruby have a chance to deal up to 20% of the bosses current health (max of 12k) while dealing 10% of your current health. Diamond have a chance to hit with 100% accuracy (so never miss) with a 15% damage increase. Onyx (my favorite albeit a tad expensive) have a chance to deal 25% more damage while healing you 25% of the damage dealt (healing cap of 2500). Onyx are very good for beginners since it helps with healing and damage output

Joined rs after a 8-12 year break, i forget. killed araxxi the first time after watching your vid, i kept getting stuck at the acid pit. i literally thought i couldnt walk in it so i never went that far in. oh my gosh lol. smh rn.
i cant get it down at phase 3. im so frustrated. lvl 120 necro and 92-99 other cmb stats. but i stink at pvm.. :(
I only did araxxor a few times. I had issues completing it when I tried to focus on all the mechanics but then I beat it easily when I just focused on killing the boss as fast as possible idk why
One thing about the bouncing black sludge. It bounces around randomly, including the square you stand on. That means, sometimes it can bounce and hit you before the five bounces. If you don’t pay attention, that can very easily kill you (it has killed me multiple times, even with having 1.1k kills). Even more so on higher enrages. Just keep your eye out and gl :)
So I’m sure you skipped lower gear mage because it’s not a good idea but let’s say I went with full sub and a chaotic staff, what are my chances?
You can definitely do it, it's just not optimal for camping there and is annoying, but trying with it is perfectly fine, better than not trying at all!

Id say try to Learn eoc. It May suck and Seem a little confusing In the beginning, but it will be so much more fun and open so many new Doors later on. You Can also always just turn on revolution and copy someones ability bar.

Id say food wise blue blubbers and guthix flasks are better so you dont lose adren when eating, especially when you get to higher enrage and p4. But rax is also a lot easier now with perks and bolts etc
Okay, but HOW do I skip the cutscene from phase 3 to 4?? It is so frustrating that I go from 100% adren to 0% because I can't do anything during the cutscene
Just use defensives so u dont run out of adren

What is considered an auto attack from the boss
Just the standard range/magic/melee attacks. Melee can be avoided by standing back while you're using range/mage, or using a scythe/spear while using melee. The mage attacks are the brighter green blobs flying at you & range are the darker ones. Auto specials are the kill swipe, web dome, egg bombs, etc

Count the 4 attacks of Araxxor, and just check the floor. If u see the black spiders under her that bolt away just stop attacking. And dont attack araxxor, watch the spider spawns, kill and then continue.
still have no idea how to kill this boss. haven't even seen the 4th yet after 7 attempts. tier 90 gear, 99 def and range, with prayer 2 inventories of food, with overloads and still cant even come close to beating it.
on phase 1/2 whats the point of getting him to "5k health" before heading into phase 2? I on purpose went to phase 2 while arraxor was at 70% HP while i just stood there and used defensives and i saw no difference, since his health resets in p2/p3 anyway. So why do you suggest to get him down to 5k (or just low) HP in p1? Ty.
It’s easy to miss but if you don’t bring araxxor down to 5k that health will carry into the next phases. It’s in the form of spiders healing arraxor. It’s better to get him down in the earlier phases while there is less mechanics and damage to deal with.

most poeple in rs dont have the curse abilities or millions of gp into gear or have overloads. So if its impossible to do with t80 gear and anyones availablity to extra stuff to bring then say so.

I hate bossing, this boss is so laughable until phase 4 and then literally just becomes impossible for me. This makes me never want to boss I hate that this boss is preventing me from getting comp cape rn I'm so fucking done. This video makes phase 4 look so easy but when I do it I'm just getting damaged so much and can't focus on prayer switching because I'm trying to heal.

Well, for people who are beginners to pvm in this direction. The general consensus is if you're trying to kill this boss you have at least lvl 90+ combat stats, meaning you've been playing the game & likely have a bit of gp to throw around from other gains. This is about to be my first time trying rax & I have almost everything except the EOF amulet, Seren Godbow, & Nightmare Gauntlets, however I do have Cinderbanes so I'm hoping to be able to wing this one..
Fucking anoyying boss, it literally tries to insta kill you on phase 4 after 25k hp
All that effort for 1m when you could make 100m in 10 minutes at duel arena...Exactly why they removed it. Guarantee it will be back though.
