- This video shows how to install a Neutrik NAC3FX-W-TOP connector on a 14/3 SJOOW power cable. The video breaks down the installation and tools needed.

Next time, flip the cable around and put the male connector on the other end. You won't have to cross the Neutral and Ground wires. Cables have a front and back end! Works the same for Edison and twist lock connectors also.
brilliant. i never gave it much thought but you're right. I'll try it next time.
I just looked at the instructions for these connectors and it shows the correct orientation in the diagram but doesn't explicitly mention that orientation depends on what end of the cable you're on. it's a little thing but this is blowing my mind right now.
Good video, but you strip too much jacket. The "teeths" on the white part should sit on the black jacket, not the wires directly, since it's part of the strain relief . Sure it'll still work, but, it's going to be much less durable in the long run.
Just FYI those True 1's come screwed together so you can push the weather seal onto the cable without the spring clip coming out. Don't unscrew them, push the cable through first then unscrew them. Also some silicone spray helps get that weather seal on. Keep up the good work.
A great point. And looks like Seetronics bypasses the two-piece back shell issue.
As someone who never soldered and never intended to, its kinda frustrating seeing every Neutrik tutorial focus so much on the wire connectors. I can buy premade ones for that. What i would be MUCH more interested in is the actual chassis connectors.
How do they work?!
How do I continue with the cabling INSIDE the rack / patch panel?
Do I have to know soldering for that if I want all Neutrik TOP connectors?
How do I properly do that?
I am completely lost still, even though i've been watching these vids for like 2 hours
I know this is over a year old, and I know the connectors *look* the opposite of what they are, but the NAC3FXW-TOP connector is the FEMALE. Thus the F in the model name. The male is NAC3MXW-TOP. It's the pins that matter, not the housing. Just some weird...European transgender connectors I guess.
Hi what size driver?
seems that you don't know what you're doing, you should strip outer jacket no more than 20 mm. A chuck must grip outer jacket.
This^^^
Best vid out there on how to properly connect power leads to Neutrix power connectors! Ty
Evidently you have not watched enough alternative videos! This is an example of doing it badly!
@@AndrewLumsden Your opinion! Right!!
@@JMD535 No. Common sense should tell you it's bad. The chuck grip should be gripping the black outside sheath, not the individual conductor wires.
@@AndrewLumsden Well, all I know is that my setup regarding this came out 100% perfect! All of my INs and Outs are external in my Odyssey controller case!
Neutrik PowerCon Combo:
Power In
Power Out
Left and Right XLR Outs
Left and Right 1/4" TRS Outs
NEMA 5-15 receptacle added!
I flip one internal Switch and everything in the controller case has power,...plus a separate Switch for case lighting,...for a totally exceptional clean setup! No disorganized array of cables and wires everywhere. The added power outlets for the speaker cables at 'Floor' level, so there is never a need to run additional power wires to the controller case.
So, again, this video assisted me in setting up my case the way I had planned for the wiring setup to be! So, that's why I gave this guy credit. I wasn't looking for what he got wrong,...I was looking for what he got right!
I probably would have viewed your video on the topic the same,...by capturing and working with what you got right,...versus dwelling on any faults you potentially may have regarding this topic! Which is most likely - 0.
What's that over there 4 pcs with neutrik logo?
Those are SCCD weather proof covers. czcams.com/video/ah-AH1NhECE/video.html
you forgot to add ferrules at the end of your cable, stops it from fraying apart over the years, and the insurance companies over here like it that way :).
Absolutely no need for ferrules the small terminals inside the connector probably wouldn't be able to accommodate the ferrules in addition to the bare wire. If you are afraid of stray strands, just twist the strands and add some solder to keep them together.
The idea with the solder works too of course. I learned my stuff back in Germany, and it would be a fail if the cables wouldn't have ferrules.

Thank you for posting. Funny how some comments tell you what you’re doing wrong, yet they watched the video??? Anyway, this was very helpful. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish since I didn’t know they made a torx size microscopic! Jesus, is that like a size one?!?! I have about 25 effing sizes laying around, but none that small!! Didn’t know they came smaller than a T-10. Good lord!
How do you plug it into the wall?
You don't!
Is this connector for single use ? What if the cable is damaged, can you use the connector again?
The connector can be used again, however it is difficult to take apart. The little metal “C” clip prevents the back nut from vibrating loose. You will need a pair of pliers or vise grips to remove the back nut. The C clip comes out through the bottom boot when you loosen the nut. It’s not very easy to disassemble, however it can be done
@@billylaguardiasounds difficult... Can you make a video of that?
@@mneves7263 haha sure. I actually had to do it earlier this week.
@@billylaguardia I know how to do it. It's not that hard if you know what to do. Thank you.
@@billylaguardia not so, SUPER easy! the spring clip pushes back and gets exposed through a little hole in the side of the boot end. poke a lil screwdriver or pin, and you get an extra turn!
Far too much outer black insulation taken off. The white compression chuck should grip that insulation, not the individual conductor wires. 🙄😖
This method does not align with the manufacturers assembly instruction as approved by the Underwriters Laboratory. Great way to get an insurance claim denied.
