      @@TarekAlShawwa i meant to say extended 60%. Basically a 60% keyboard with the number pad slapped on. No arrows, nav cluster or top F row. Nice slim compact design. A good example is the vortex vibe or the candy bar

      @@TarekAlShawwa exploded 65% is when the arrow keys and function keys are separated from the main alphas and modifiers. look at something like the alpine65 or keychron q2 for some examples

    Never understood why numpads are on the right. We can learn to "numpad" left handed.

      Unless you're a competitive calculator speedrunner, like the ones in East Asia. Then you either got to find the left-handed numpad/calculator, or learn to do hand gymnastics

      20 years ago I used to play multiplayer games with my brother using one KBM, That was my last legitimate usecase for right handed numpads.

      after working in an accountants annd doing a million number entries a day i agree, would have let me keep one hand on the mouse and enter numbers at the same time. Quite a broad application but 99.999999999% of people who would benefit would never pay for their own keyboard let alone an upgrade from the standard Dell one that seems to be in every office

    So happy to see this finally hitting the spotlight. I remembered talking to the designer in person when the board was in a very early stage and was very rudimentary.
    Good luck to the runner and anyone who is interested in joining the buy. Knowing the runner I am more than sure this board is going to be stellar.

    Tbh I've always *loved* the look of knobs/dials on keyboards, have no idea why, just tend to gravitate towards keyboards that have them.

    When you're looking for a different approach on getting your numpad with rotary encoder and don't want to spend a fortune, consider getting a macro pad. I just build a 4x4 plaid pad with 14 switches and two rotary encoders. Easily programmable with VIAL and it works like a charm. I spent about 75 USD (65 EUR) for this solution.

    What do people have against having buttons on a keyboard? You go through the effort of adding a numpad and a knob and then leave off the f-row and nav cluster. Brilliant.

    I need to start blocking some sites now. I hate that I want this so bad and at my level, I cannot justify the cost.
    ✅ South paw, arrow key clusters on the right, left knob, premium looks, VIA compatible,
    I wish they could make a cheaper version. PC case and or plate, hotswap,
    Only a man can dream.. i need to re evaluate my decisions in life...

    Love that there are keyboards being designed by Saigon’s keyboard lovers. The community here is quite small and isn’t the most familiar with more premium boards like this but this is an amazing board. The video is great as always

    I love the layout but I'd rather a full numpad to one with a knob, and I need a much lower price 😬. Other then that, it looks perfect for me. If it could be made with cheaper materials to lower the price I'd be totally down.

    I hate that these layouts are so rare, I'm only 20, been studying CS for 3 years and using a right hand numpad layout for 8-10 years, and I'm already noticing differences in my posture and range of motion that come specifically from having to move my right hand so much between keybaord and mouse, while my left hand just sits over the same area all the time. I can't wait to get one of these

    the board of my dreams is a 75% with a left numpad, someday in the future someone is going to make that and i wish i could say that id buy it immediately but unless its like 100usd ill be sticking with my janked aliexpress setup for now..

    funny, i was thinking about getting a 60% + separate numpad on left side.
    and possibly mapping the numpad as function row on a separate layer, which if you miss the function row, it might work well

    thank you for posting the Viendi review, I was hopeful for a long time waiting since we heard in August from the viendi discord you would be doing one :). I am a fan of your videos in general. could you tell us how you programmed the Shift key to be short tap Arrow and long hold Shift? this is an interesting way to do the arrow.

      Here is how:
      - On QMK, put this into the Right Shift input: MT(MOD_RSFT, KC_UP)
      - On VIA, on tab Special, assign the Right Shift with "Any" button, then put in MT(MOD_RSFT, KC_UP)
      Note: this is called "Mod tap" you can do the similar to other Mod keys like Ctrl, Alt,...

    the led bleed on the 4th RGB led is maybe from not installing the foam gasket. it can be blocked by other methods too like a tiny piece of tape if you don't want to use the gasket.

    I like this, its really unique. Not your standard 60% or 65%. Just not a fan of the right shift doubling as an up arrow key

      there are 3 or 4 options for the arrows there and you can split that shift key I believe on this board. several optional layouts are published as options for people. I might start using arrows on the left numpad and stop lifting my hand from the right mouse more.

    I think only those whose hands almost never leave the keyboard would utilize a right hand numpad. Most other people with desk space would be better off with one on the left, or none at all. Kinda interested.

    Those knobs are gotoh VK dome guitar knobs and they come exactly in those four colors. You can buy them for like $5-6 if you want. They even have some artisan models.

    I wish I could use a keyboard like this. Keeping the alpha cluster centered is much more ergonomic than having it off to the left. Unfortunately, I've gone and gotten myself addicted to buckling springs, so I'm stuck with whatever layouts those keyboards are produced in. Perhaps I'll buy a Mini M if I can convince myself I don't need a numpad.

    I feel like the Hi-Finger 7.5 would be a perfect keyboard for Tae. Premium sound and feel with a numpad, but the odd layout keeps it compact on the desk.

    I have the M0lly and its similar layout but just right hand numpad. I just use the arrow keys on the numpad instead of making dedicated arrow keys.

      I ended up ordering a Drop Alt, Holy Panda and Ducky One keycaps set that doesn't quite fit lol Thanks again!

      yeh i actually dont mind the candybar left hand layout. normally i cant use 40% because it has no numrow, so it would be interesting to have the numpad there .

    I think it's the brass plate, but it sounds lackluster compared to other boards. Not entirely bad, but just lacking. Everything is preference tho.
