This was really helpful for me, since I'm on a budget and trying to get into mechanical keyboards. Keep up the great work!
underrated.
what are the odds, i found you today and this is gonna be my personal build :)
how did your build go? Im going to get this with the brass plate option
Very informative and a good video. Thanks for helping me decide what Keyboard to buy
I have the TM-680 and thoroughly enjoy it! If someone is going to take it apart, be extremely careful not to break the little mode selector button off the PCB when putting it all back together. Great video Port!
I’m getting the wired version so should this be a worry for me.
@@ethan7471 that’s a good call. I basically turned mine into a wired version 😂. Though I can still switch it with a small pin.
@@adrian_orozco thanks this helped me a lot
Was thinking of getting those board but some people are having their PCBs short-circuited so I'm hoping those are just isolated cases
@@adrian_orozco any tips on how not to break the mode selector???
Yooo I just got this. Arrived today and just built it. I got it with Pudding Keycaps and gateron red switches, Highly recommend for anyone who is on a tight budget!
Set up was incredibly easy and the 3 mode function makes it very handy for my to connect to PC, Mac, iPad and so on.
What pudding keycaps you got
used it for my first and current build, its so good for the price
I love your setup!
Great video man!
Yooo thanks for watchin!
I have the TM680. It's at a low enough starting point that I've finally made the dive into custom keyboard. Two weeks later and I've already got 2 more types of switches coming (cause I just can't work with linears).
Main difference that I can see with the LK67 is that most of the colour options for the TM680 is translucent. It helps with the RGB shine through but also makes it look cheap (which it is). Also there's no print that shows the 3 modes. Other than having some Bluetooth connection issues it's been working well so far.
Thanks for reviewing this in stock mode cause that's what most of the buyers will be doing with their setup.
if you mod this thing, and youre mode button breaks, does the keyboard still work but the bluetooth not?

I'm just researching my first proper prebuilt, and this is the same frame as the Epomaker Theory TH68 - I would prefer it without the writing on the frame (frame is probably the wrong word)
Nice Video ...Kindly suggest some best budget Mechanical Key board for Gaming, Streaming, Editing and Rendering works...I"ve seen your videos of both Gamakay LK 67 & GamaKay LK68...Which one do you suggest based on my requirement..I'm into gaming recently started CZcamsr..
Ok how do you get a static color rgb on this board?
does anyone know how to mantain the volume knob circle light turned on? i just recieved mine and it just turns on sometimes
Would this keyboard be compatible with Mac OS or Mac layout?
buulding a keyboard is better than buying one
hi, can anyone tell me whats the polling rate on this keyboard?
been interested in this keyboard but cant find info about the polling rate
thanks in advance who can give the the answer :D
What type of keycaps do you recommend that look nice, feel nice, and that you can see the rgb from the black keyboard ?
I just tried Glorious’ ABS keycaps. Not amazing but they’re nice if you want shinethrough keycaps. Razer Phantom keycaps are really cool too. Lots of compatibility, only $30, and hides the legends when the keyboard is off. It’s a cool effect.
There is also a blue version, with the switches and the key-caps now and I think is a little bit more vfm
There’s a white,blue,green,pink, (3 transparent versions as well)
my volume knob light is blinking red, does anyone knows what that mean? i thought it was the baterry so i plugged to my pc and it stopped like 2 minutes after it...
the rgb on the volume knob turns off after like 10 seconds of pluging it in... anyone know how to fix that?
Is it compatible with Gateron Red Linear switches? Sorry I'm completely new to the keyboard world and just wanna build my first keyboard with some cool keycaps and red linear switches if possible ^^
Yup, it sure is
Could someone send me the link for the key caps I can’t find them thanks
The reason it sounds different with OEM profile caps is because of SWITCH INTERFERENCE. Look up wildcat's video on it :)
Really great video! If I buy the LK67 bare, what would be easy ways to make this board silent whilst retaining a good typing experience? In terms of beginner mods. Thanks!
The hard part with this board is taking it apart/putting it back together by the power switch. If you can find and want a wired only version that doesn’t have the switch, it will be much easier.
Then it’s just a matter of getting some good silent switches, and maybe tape modding the board. I don’t actually do many mods to any boards but I’m sure there are plenty of modding videos on CZcams. Tape modding and silent switches are my easiest guess.
I would not recommend tape modding if you have a wireless version. Could be risky with the battery
any way to replace the case? or are there some custom cases out? want to get me one but i want a mate aluminum case...
There might be people who will make custom cases for this or the TM680 but nothing official right now
Does it work with ps4/ps5
does this work for mac?
Would you recommend this or the TOM680
I’ve only used the LK67 but it’s good enough that I don’t think it would be a disappointing option
can you use it without the bluetooth and use it wired?
Yup
Thanks for the video! Is the knob programmable to say sliders within Adobe products?
Good question! I’m not sure actually. You have to program the knob to act as certain keys on a keyboard. If you can hotkey your sliders then that might work
@@Portly hmm I wonder if programming to ‘scroll’ would do the trick
@@WestlakeKevin actually that might work even better!
Thx for the video ! Your the best , and i have one question , what is your wallpaper ??
And what switch do you use ??
I actually don’t remember the name of my wallpaper. I found it on Reddit awhile ago.
As for what switch I use, I have two main boards. One I use Tangerine switches and on the other I use Glorious Panda switches
@@Portly ok man thank you ! Have a good day , cya for an other video 👍😉
Is the software that comes with these safe, or is QMK a better bet?
The software is safe as far as I know. I’ve had to install tons of keyboard software for this videos and haven’t had problems. QMK is always going to be better imo but to my knowledge this board isn’t QMK compatible
Do you know if the Hyper X Pudding keycaps fit in this keyboard?
They will not fit the right shift and modifiers
@@Portly thanks, what about the glorious pudding v2?
@@shmexyfnm6142 ah, yes those will work. The GMMK Pro has a similar layout and they work with that
@@Portly thank you! I like the pudding keycaps, I will be purchasing those!
Would you recommend a gmmk compact to start modding?
Yes and no. There’s only so much you can do with modding it compared to other boards, and it only supports 3 pin switches. So if you want to use any 5 pin switches, you have to cut off the two plastic pins on all your switches. The keybind customization is also very limited in the software. Not a bad board but there are better options.
@@Portly thanks for the response, kinds confused on what to buy i just want a good qc 60% with hotswapp that would be easy to start modin but all of the custom options are out of stock.
What is size of right Shift?
1.75u fits
can u link some keycap sets that should work with this board
Literally any keycaps will work as long as the switches are cherry stems
@@chiizuu752 no but the smaller shift
anyone know what the size of right shift is?
Should be 1.75u
never saw the spacebar mounted that way ...
Anyone know what keycaps these are?
I go into them in the video. It’s a combination of 3 or 4 different sets I had laying around
Which one i better, tm680 or lk67
As far as I know they’re pretty much the same. No idea if they have different PCBs or stabilizers. TM680 has more color options at least.
@@Portly oh ok ty, cuz i just ordered the tm680 and i saw this video. Nice review!
Tm680 could have mulfunctioning pcbs, so i suggest Lk67
i got mine today, everything is good but software is not detecting my keyboard.
Is yours coming up with a screen that just says welcome and searching for device too ????
if so make sure you are in wired mode for it to work. the toggle switch on the top has to be in the middle
What pin is it
5
Hey Portly idk why I’m not getting notifications on when you post on here but when you get a chance check your fb messages
has anyone got the software to work ?????
I've done it now you have to be in wired mode for your board to be recognised by the software and yes it is safe to download
@@danswan5236 Where did you get the software?
