    Just to balance the opinions, your videos are rich with detail and I love that you are identifying the bones and muscles with their names. I don't consider it "gibberish". It's part of understanding human anatomy. Also, I enjoy the humour you have added to the other videos in the series. Thank you, Proko for the time and dedication you have given us over the years. You are producing a very valuable "body" of work!

      If this is something you'd say today, believe in yourself bro. It's awesome he did it and more awesome he's teaching, but the goal is to get as close to a 1:1 transference of knowledge as possible, and it is possible if you go about it the right way and engage with it enough to make quality associations. It's a messy, upsetting business to compare people to other people or put yourself below somebody else and associate that with who you are as a person. Just keep comparing yourself to your prior self, keep good habits of improvement, and if you can tackle that you can get wherever you want to (within reason of course)

    Thanks proko. I think I mastered the art form of my idol artist. I redrew one specific image over and over for about a year. And I learned so much just from that one picture. But because I am self ought I was lacking in some basic knowledge. Watching your stuff reignited my passion and it really helped me out. Although I dont agree with everything, specific styles cant be made just by the book. Some rules apply differently but you already know that don't you. I'm looking forward to learn more from you. Today I nailed the picture! Including gesture and shading. Keep up the good work!

  • @Vadosity
    @Vadosity Před 9 lety +3

    I want to ask a little question, your method for drawing seems to be very very clean, and certain.
    While it seems to work well for drawing from reference, is this the ideal method for drawing from imagination such as when doing comic book or animation?

    • @JazGalaxy
      @JazGalaxy Před 8 lety +7

      +Vadosity Of course. Line Condifence is very much a quality of great artists. Style can come later, when one begins shading and whatnot. I would recommend looking at comic book artists pencils and not finished inks and colors. I think you will find that a great many of them have cleaner looking art than it looks once an inker has had their way with it. Also note that an anatomy teacher isn't going to skew the anatomy into popular contortions like anime or american comic art would have one do. That can come later.

      +Asia Williams That's actually really easy, Asia. I recommend, and I guess Stan would too, getting the Andy Loomis books. you can get them for free as .pdfs or you can buy them in hardback editions from Amazon. (which I did because I use them ALL the time). To some extent, they are the only books you need.
      There are about 3 pages in "Figure Drawing For All It's Worth" that will blow your mind.
