Pretty sure these traditions are all about cleaning house before the holidays. The Yule Lads only come and steal stuff that's left lying around, so you gotta put it all away properly so they won't find it. By the time your food's all packed away, door's clean and oiled, sheep all in the barn, etc. then you're ready for holiday guests.
Nah, the yule lads are the children of a troll that eats children.

You wanna know weird Christmas customs? In Lower Serbia (the South) the Twelve Days of Christmas were called unbaptized days and people believed demons and other supernatural beings prowled the countryside. Not only that, but if they saw you during nighttime, they'd chase you down and piggyback ride you until you drop from fatigue or until roosters announced dawn. This is of course the influence of Muslim traditions as it has no parallels in any other Slavic traditions (nor any other traditionally Christian countries), but has parallels in Turkish traditions, which have nothing to do with Christmas.

I can only reccomend watching the entire Cox N Crendor in the morning, it is amzing.
You know, I used to think that your earlier animation couldn't be beat but I checked out some of the earlier episodes of this series (cheeseburger in Florida etc) and you have improved significantly since then, both in terms of drawing and injecting personality into the characters.
I've done some 2D animation myself (In Uni mostly), and I can hugely appreciate the effort you put in to make these episodes for us.
Just wanted to say good job, and I look forward to your next work immensely! :)

Well nowadays the yulelads arent bad. instead of stealing stuff they leave small presents in your shoe that you leave in your window. So basicly, icelandic children get 13 extra presents for christmas.

Window-Peeper is just misunderstood. He peeps through windows looking for things to steal. He doesn't actually steal them, he just looks for them. He may not even find them, but if he does, he just stops, because all he does is look for them. The other Yule Lads keep telling him to get a real job.
