It’s a fallacy among humans. We have a chemical reaction in our brain that tells us we want to reproduce with someone. Even if you’re not actively thinking that, those chemicals and your actions are the ultimate end goal in terms of instinctual evolution. Our species inherently wants to survive as much as every other species. The problem is, that process can make you overlook a LOT about your partner cause your brains still producing chemicals to make it think ‘okay, make this work, we need to carry on our species’. It takes about 2-3 years for that process to go away. Makes sense right? A woman has to hold a child for 9 months and then birth it and will have to take exclusive care of it for a year or two. The male will then have to protect them and ensure their safety. After the 2-3 years ends and the chemicals stop producing, you’re no longer clouded by it and can notice all the things you didn’t like before that you glossed over. And in our modern society, it’s frowned upon to go through divorces and break ups, it’s expensive and no one wants to deal with the pain. So a LOT of couples end up just dealing with each other. Then you get situations like this and where men all make jokes about their wives being naggy. In reality, most people just aren’t compatible with each other on more than a physical level. Especially these days where there are so many strong opinions and facets that contribute towards someone’s personality. Eventually, ESPECIALLY after a few years, love requires WORK. Both people need to be in tune with each other and communicate and care enough to want to compromise and make changes if need be.

Doesn't even have to be a romantic one--family, close friends, etc.; at some point you are going to get into it and at that point you can either fight or find a compromise. It’s a fallacy among humans. We have a chemical reaction in our brain that tells us we want to reproduce with someone. Even if you’re not actively thinking that, those chemicals and your actions are the ultimate end goal in terms of instinctual evolution. Our species inherently wants to survive as much as every other species. The problem is, that process can make you overlook a LOT about your partner cause your brains still producing chemicals to make it think ‘okay, make this work, we need to carry on our species’.
It takes about 2-3 years for that process to go away. Makes sense right? A woman has to hold a child for 9 months and then birth it and will have to take exclusive care of it for a year or two. The male will then have to protect them and ensure their safety. After the 2-3 years ends and the chemicals stop producing, you’re no longer clouded by it and can notice all the things you didn’t like before that you glossed over.
And in our modern society, it’s frowned upon to go through divorces and break ups, it’s expensive and no one wants to deal with the pain. So a LOT of couples end up just dealing with each other. Then you get situations like this and where men all make jokes about their wives being naggy. In reality, most people just aren’t compatible with each other on more than a physical level. Especially these days where there are so many strong opinions and facets that contribute towards someone’s personality.
Eventually, ESPECIALLY after a few years, love requires WORK. Both people need to be in tune with each other and communicate and care enough to want to compromise and make changes if need be.

He talked about how sad he was but he took his daughter like a year later to see the dog at its new home and the dog growled at his daughter. He said that made him okay with his decision

Most people (men and women) don't understand the concept of honor. When man has no honor... well, you know what happens to him. When a woman has no honor, it's not such a big deal because such compliance with a code of conduct was not expected of them (like we don't expect children to have honor).
