    I didn't find much, but the weather was nice, the scenery was varied... and the play of light on water was often spectaculor.

    My two favourite things about this video:
    "There might not be much to find but it's a lovely day to not find much."
    and
    STAR WARS BAG.

    Hi Tom, We watched this while eating our tea and really enjoyed it! I'm pining for those summer days already. Every year I end up taking them for granted, even after I promise myself I won't. It's not always about finding something incredible, I've found that many people just like coming along for the adventure. We did giggle at the cheese though! I really find random funny. Best, Gail & Alex 😊

      Oh dear, 3 minutes of ads is a lot. Something wrong is happening, I don't know if I'll ever get the settings right. You're absolutely right, it's mostly about the joy of coming along on a filmed adventure; this one though.... 2 hours 40 of footage, it was a nightmare to edit, I put it off, bumping other episodes in front of it for 3 months. Next year, with mudlarking channels to feed, we all might make more of summer, stockpiling episodes for when we can't get out so often. All the best, Tom 🙂

      Hi neighbor! I'm in Washington state, and it's true. We're sorely lacking in the mill stream population. I used to fish a local stream, and I once found a small, amber corktop medicine bottle. But that was it. We're just not old enough here in the great Pacific northwest to have creeks and streams loaded with artifacts. Such a shame. Oh well. Such is life. Cheers! Tom, the sound of a lively river and your narrative coupled with your enchanting voice and entertaining thoughts is something rare and wonderful. You are probably too young to know of the actor Richard Burton who was I believe Welsh, well at times the lyrical beautiful intensity in your vocal delivery is similar to his... honestly I could listen to you reading the most mundane instructions and it would still sound incredible! Tom, I'm very sorry that you exhausted yourself and fell in the making of this beautiful video. The locations are especially stunning to a Yankee. I also hope that you didn't get flooded a few days ago. These videos are your greatest art, as 2.64K others would agree. Be well :-)

      Thankfully, the rivers here have just been teasing... coming close to flooding, but not doing so. yet. I don't know if these videos are my greatest art, but they're certainly the most widely appreciated so far. 🙂

    Thankyou, I enjoyed the trip Tom, unlike the trip I had this morning, which ended with hard collision of knee against concrete path. To make it particularly humiliating I knocked over a full bucket of rainwater as I fell which made every item of my clothing sopping wet, apart from the scarf that was around my neck. I had to go back inside & dress again before I went out. Seeing me rolling around in a pool of cold water did give a couple of my neighbours a good laugh though. However I didn't find anything at the bottom of that pool of water, not a bean. So you certainly did better than me in this video.
    Wouldn't have minded so much if I could have got doused in cold water in the summer.
    I really enjoyed the water sounds & birdsong on your trip & loved seeing all the greenery but the thing I am really addicted to is seeing ripple patterns in sunlight, so those bits are just wonderful for me. Reminds me of summer snorkelling. All the best. Keep warm.

      @tomburleigh9261  Před 4 lety

      Oh no, that sounds so painful. I had a similar collison a few years ago while out running, and my knee's still not quite right. I hope your injury is less severe, and you recover fully.
      The ripple patterns in the sun are a wonderful, simple pleasure; a highlight of any outing, I'm glad you enjoy that bit too. 🙂

      @@tomburleigh9261 Thankyou Tom. I think the cold water & injury may have got my endorphins going & cheered me up though, as I was struggling with the lack of light & the level of wetness. So it may have its silver lining. My knee does seem to be recovering at a reasonable pace & I am sending Ki through it to help it, so I am hopefull that it will recover fully.

    You did a good thing by letting that sewing machine part go. When a object feel wrong or you have a bad feeling about it , just put it down and let it go because it may of had a tragic past associated with it and that is a warning the object is telling you and you never know what your bring home with you

    I was scared looking at rose dark tunnels and slippery weirs, but when you came to the really long pitch black one I was truly terrified. I am scared of the dark and scared of water that I can’t see through. I had palpitations and when the camera turned back on it at the end, it did indeed look like a gaping black maw. If you give the frog rake to Oxfam & they sell it for 50p it will provide a few bowls of rice for someone desperate & maybe for their little child as well. But I think it is probably just the right thing for mudlarking. A gift of the river to encourage you.

      I used to make some money by grabbing books and things from out of the bin behind my local oxfam... 9,000 books over a year (I had permission from the manager), I suspect if I donated that rake, slightly rusty and river stained as it is; it'd just get chucked out. I shall use it, and perhaps donate some of the ad-revenue from the video to charity. 🙂

    A thought on the strange mozzarella ball found: In some of Florida waters, both salt and sweet, you can hand feed fish as you wade or swim. Cheese doesn't dissolve in water as quickly as the customary bread or puppy chow. I'd prefer to provide more beneficial items like chopped cooked vegetables in small amounts.
