    New Control Arm with Ball Joint from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASL...
    Control arms are a crucial part of the suspension system of your vehicle. They not only carry the load of the vehicle to the wheel, but they typically also maintain its alignment. Control arms are typically large and strong, so you may be surprised it needs replacing. They contain rubber bushings for smoother rides at the cost of eventual wear, as well as integral ball joints that also wear. This video shows you how to install a new quality TRQ lower control arm in your 08-14 Cadillac CTS. The procedure is the same on either side of the vehicle.

    Thanks for taking the time to show the in-depth process of this. Now I can decide if I am going to tackle this. Doesn't look too bad but the car I would be doing this on will not be on a hoist so the job will be a little tougher.

    Can you separate the outer tie rod to move the inner tie rod out of the way enough to take the CAB bolt out and can you put the bolts back in backwards so the bolts come out from the inside of CA?

    What is considered ride height?
    If I go with aftermarket polyurethane floating bushings, is torquing at ride height still necessary?

      @@shortdom107 it's a lot cheaper to do the bushings, right?
      I seen bushings for less than 100, while the control arms are 300 ish each side

    Do bad lower control arms cause the car to shake

    • @garymunson2493
      @garymunson2493 Před 3 lety +1

      Yes. Have someone you trust sit in the car and with it in reverse, look under the front as the driver moves the car backward a couple inches then steps hard on the brake. Don't let you wife do this if you expect she might want to collect your life insurance if she "accidently" puts the car in drive. Watch the forward bushing area of the lower control arm. If it is good, the only motion will be "rotary" around the bolt as the arm moves up and down. With the bushing bad, the bushing area of the arm will move noticeably left and right and/or up and down. Remember, the ONLY motion of that part of the arm should be from the bushing twisting one way or the other around the mounting bolt as the arm moves up and down.

      Yes it will and the wear on your tires will be uneven. It's another expensive issue with the cts 🤦🏽‍♂️ it's such a beautiful car but damn they have sooooo many issues
