Jason... I've been at least reading posts and commenting in the group if not using Carveco every day for the last three years. This is one of if not the coolest tricks I have ever seen.
Thanks I really appreciate the kind words. I really like making the 3d models and is something I have been working on since I got the software a few years ago. I am no pro but i do learn new tricks all the time. This was one I had to share.
Thanks! You got it my man. I think I'm only 5 vids into your channel, but these last two are off the charts helpful!
I have quite a few gems like these. I am updating my thumbnails to make things easier to see and find.
I find your videos extremely informative and well presented. An absolute go to before I start any project as a newbie. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the kind feedback. I am always glad to hear my videos are helping. Thank you for watching those and please let me know if there is something you would like me to cover more.
Great video, Jason! Looking forward to my 3D carving journey and watching many more of your videos. Thank you for putting these together for us
Thanks Scott. This video may interest you as well. czcams.com/video/8KSMwa1edL8/video.htmlsi=GVf9A6RnX9raU0mE
Excellent instruction. Thank you so much.
Thanks I hope that one helped answer that question.
Great video! Thank you
Thanks I am glad that one helped and I appreciate the feedback. These help keep me know what is working and what is not.
Brilliant how you discovered this feature. I wonder if CarveCo knew it was possible!😮
I have not seen anyone else do this and is why I wanted to highlight it. I am always looking for new ways to use the tools they give us.
i like this tutorial. Thanks
I appreciate the feedback on that one and glad it helped. Thank you.
Damn, that is impressive! Not a single moment of wasted time showing it, you are amazing, I am always happy to hit the rewind button when I need to instead of shaking my head to useless babble, again amazing instructor. Thank you!
How do you only have 2580 Subs, Carveco should be paying you!
Thanks I appreciate the kind words. I have been accused of going fast.
@@Timberfalls Shouldn't be an accusation, I say it's a timesaver, keep it up, I'm here to learn.
Jason thanks for showing this. Without Maker + I didn't think I could come close to being able to do this. While you are at it can you teach inlays. I've watched lots of videos and none use the inlay wizard. Anyhow I just thought I'd ask for your help with it. I seem to learn a lot more from you than I have from many others (no disrespect to them). Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Thanks Mike. I am planning on doing a video about inlays soon and will try and cover that.
Gunny would say, "Outstanding!"
Ooh Rah!
Because my sign i want to make the rest of it in the Area Clarence cut.
In my beginners guide the toolpathing one I show how to set up that area clearance with raised lettering if that is what you are looking for.
Hi Sir you are the best ever at Carveco , is it possible to add the 3 d Relief art like a football Helmet and put logos on helmet and football and to do a Area Clarence
The limitation of this trick is that what you import and change height on will have straight walls and will be more of a raised look than a 3d one. If you could find a 3d model of a football helmet and then use this trick for the logos would work well though. Maybe use a little smoothing afterwards to round it out some.
What about the final step of building tool paths? I have never done a 3d carve
Look around the 40:15 mark on this video. I go over this. czcams.com/video/lT24BdezvoY/video.html
Hello! Great tutorial! Could this be used for 3d printing and possibly making a silver plaque out of the 3d relief?
Well Carveco is not a true parametric design program so it does not produce the 4th axis but if its a 2.5d relief like this example then yes it will work.
Well thank you for the fast reply. A followup question would be, can I make a draft angle to it in the program?
@@NS-py9cw If you use this trick to make a model of your design then you can use the fade relief tool to add the draft. The strength of the fade tool will be the angle that the draft is. I have a video on the fade relief tool in my videos playlist.
That is great news! Thank you, I will look it up asap!
Great information, would just suggest to slow down a bit.
Thanks for the feedback. There is a setting in the video settings that will let you slow down the video at a slightly slower speed and still watch it. Hope that helps.
I am following you every step of the way and it just wont work..4 hours and still cant do it. I dont have the sign you have so Im picking what ever i cave and stretching it out
Message me on Facebook or send me an email on my website and I can talk you through it. facebook.com/TimberFalls.US or www.timberfalls.us
I also show this in this video as well. czcams.com/video/0GfsdI4TdZI/video.html
Jason, I'm following your video and on my laptop I'm doing the work. 1. When I paste the sign 28 there is no border to erase on my screen (don't know if there was a software update since your version on Maker to mine, which was just loaded 2 weeks ago). 2. My EGA does not have the closed loop shading vectors at the edge of the globe like yours has. Did you close those vectors or do I have the wrong EGA file? Seal_of_the_United_States_Marine_Corp.svg - is the file I downloaded. Reason being my vectors are interconnected to the parallel lines across the globe and not separate so the height change does not have separation. Please advise, thanks!
Cancel #2, I was looking at the relief incorrectly. I have the same view as yours as I looked closer
When pasting the sign base you need to create a boarder yourself to create a cut away line. I use the square vector tool for this. I created my own vectors from a photo I had of the EGA. Those outer vectors have to be closed independently and may need to be edited to accomplish this. Hope that helps. I have another video on how to do this that may explain more where i make a flower so maybe check that one out.
Hello Jason, I'm trying to redo the project here for the EGA. I seem to have run into some software issues with Carveco Maker. When I follow along with your video I noticed that when I try to move the EGA symbol to another level the level is created but there is no light bulb to turn the level on and off so I can transfer the rope to its level. This did not happen originally when i tried to create the relief a couple of weeks ago. I've tried to delete the levels numerous times and delete the whole model a few times to start over but that does not work either. I do notice that there are references to the old levels that pop up that i would assume would be disposed of so I can start fresh. Is this something you've run into in the past?
On the right side were it says vectors is were these vector levels should show up. You can only move vectors and not the relief parts. Also make sure the vectors that you have selected are not grouped with ones you do not plan to move. Right click the vectors you want to move that should be pink in color and then select move to new lever. the vector tab may have a drop down arrow that opens up below it to show the different vector levels. Hope this helps.
@Timberfalls yes, that is where I'm looking on the left. When I contacted you I had been looking at your video on my PC while I did the lesson on my laptop. Last night I went to review your video on my TV app for CZcams under Amazon Prime and the two videos are quite different in content. The video on my TV was expressed slower and more in depth, but the one on Mt PC through CZcams direct through the internet provider was more rushed and seemed to be missing the full content (example-it flashes right past you setting up the model) Don't know if you produced several videos of the EGA, but they are definitely different
Sorry right screen, not left!
@@awehnert235 This is interesting and something I should look into. There is only one video and it was produced in 4k 1920x1080 at a natural speed. One thing I will tell you is there is a setting in the video settings that can run the video faster or slower than normal so you can watch it at like .5 slower or .5 faster. May want to make sure this has not been changed.
@Timberfalls Jason, it's not the speed of the video. It's that potions of your content have been removed to shorten the video on the one version. I sent this original message from the shorter video. The 'full' video was viewed through Amazon Prime on my TV and selecting the CZcams app through Amazon
