    When the battery gets low, as it flashes "L" on the digital screen on your video too, the second hand will jump two seconds every 2 seconds. charge your watch to medium "M", and the second hand will go back to normal function. It's not a defect, it's in power save mode!

    The gwg 1000 is a specialized watch in the Master of G line. If the Mudmaster isn't for you choose one of the others. I've had mine for a month and flat out love it, I'm a trucker and this is the watch I've chosen week after week to put on my wrist. The ABC functions on my watch have been super accurate after calibration and it was very easy to set up. High Fashion is right in that it may not play well with your long sleeve shirts but that is a bridge I'll cross this fall. Has been flawless in tough work environment and hiking as well as river adventures. Have no fears if you want a dead nuts solid watch!

    I have the Mudmaster in the simpler version, the GG 1000 1A. For me it's more practical and obviously less expensive. Really like the watch and it's been working great. Accuracy so far has been within about 2 seconds a month.

    To the cons of the Mudmaster I would add the must of use of the crown to set the alarm time or the countdown timer - it's really annoying when you want to do it fast. In my opinion there should be a possibility to set up the alarm time and the countdown timer by both the crown and buttons simultaneously. Regarding the size: for me it's perfect, it really nicely sits on my 17cm/6,7" wrist, I use 5th row of holes counting from the watch side to close it. It's my EDC for almost a year now.

    To keep the strap holder (metal buckle) in place, I use a wire tie, the ones you get that when you buy a new electronic gadget. Fold it in half and tread it through the strap slots, from inside of the strap to outside. Now you have a neat stopper to prevent the strap holder buckle from falling back.

    A few more downsides (compared to Rangeman): 1. No snooze alarm, 2. Only 1 hour countdown timer, 3. Recall only available for altitude, not barometer, 4. like someone else said: I hate to unscrew the crown to set alarms and timer

  • @KzLollapalooza

    Gahf is right that the hands and movement are tough indeed, I had to dismantle the watch and lift the watch face to dry out the watch and some hands were caught onto the watch case, misalignment was fixed by following instructions of the manual. Good watch indeed. I forgot to close the crown while taking a shower, so some water went in. Took it apart, lifted the watch face and dry it overnight in a bag of dehumidifier. All is well the next day except the misaligned hands.

    who puts a watch before dressing up, and certainly not with a big watch like this one. It would be logical to put it on last since you know and I know that it is a humongous watch. Although other big watches have the same issue, my citizen Eco-Drive Nighthawk is also big sometimes I have to take it off when I remove a jacket of a big sweater so it does not apply only to Mudmaster. I own this watch in the black and gold version. And mine the second hand will stop moving. If you bump the watch the second hand will start to move again.You need to bump it in sync with the digital seconds otherwise when you use the compass the readings will be wrong. You could also do the hand reset to fix it. I have the same issue with 2 of my GWN-1000 watches. If you look close the 2 watches look very similar , I think they use very similar modules. Once either watch is in sync and you are wearing the watches the second hand will continue to move. It's when it is not worn for some time the second hand will stop moving. This shouldn't be happening to a watch that is over $500.00 , I called Casio and they said I could mail them the watches and they would fix any issues with them but , that I will have to pay for the repairs. I don't think so , I will just have to bump the watch if I want the second hand to move.

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  Před 6 lety +2

      All of this models have Power Saving mode in them that will stop the hand movement when not in used.
      It should get in sync with the digital time right after that though. In your case, it didn't.
      To make your day easier, I would recommend you to turn the power saving feature to OFF so that the hand won't stop moving at the first place. Hope this method helps!

    Why did they have to put a negative LCD display anyway?
    It is extremely hard to read compared to a non-negative LCD display.

    • @Viperdriver25
      @Viperdriver25 Před 3 lety

      The negative display is easier to read in full sun. This type is also used in Garmin handheld GPS devices. It really works. Few people get the idea though.

    • @doctoruttley
      @doctoruttley Před 2 lety

      It is more subdued and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. The watch is essentially an analog with a secondary digital screen. Well, that’s the way I see it anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Marginal391
      @Marginal391 Před 2 lety

      @@doctoruttley it costs nothing to add a model with a "-P" at the end of the model number does it? Casio makes sub-models with different colours of dials and/or hands just for fun and changes the model number because of that. They could do the same with the negative to positive LCD display switch. This display - the negative one is easy to read in dim light only to people with a very good sight.

    the biggest issue that i have with non digitals in general are the small fonts for all functions. if you have just a little myopia you will need glasses for this type of watch. that for me is stupid, since these watches are suppose to be operated mostly in harsh conditions, scuba diving, hiking, hunting, night hunting, rally, whatever.

      The watch will goes in to sleep mode / power saving mode when it didn’t detect any wrist movements OR when it didn’t detect light source from the solar panel.
      When it is in this sleep mode, the hands will be moved to 12 o’clock and stop moving (to save energy). When you pick it back up, thus movement & light source coming in. It will wake up & continue back to work.

    I like your videos and channel and your opinions are good plus your reviews are on point but I have to say about the negative comment on the size of the GWG 1000. You can't really complain about the size the watch because you know that about it before you got it. It's meant to be a big, tuff manly watch and not meant for girly boys with small wrists (no offense meant). If you don't like the size of the watch you can always get a smaller one but it's not going to be the mudmaster gg-1000. The others in the mudmaster line are a bit smaller if you want a smaller watch.

    You're using the nineth eyelet on the watch! That's like grandma buying a Lambo - it ain't fit for purpose, therefore I would consider most of the review null. Critique the features after you have to actually rely on them perhaps. My Mudmaster sits on the 3rd eyelete for comfort and the 4th for when things are getting hectic. Reviews are subjective sure but when I find myself speaking on things that I either don't know about or are out of my scope I excuse myself from the subject matter.
