That casioak is just so beautiful. Can't wait till i get one.
2 years ago i said i only need one gshock in my life and im done. After 2 year of collecting, now im selling gshock to make a living so i can have an excuse to buy more. 😂
@@thetimeteller G shock GBD H1000 Thats the next one
You need a British Army Mudmaster. Then you are done (maybe).
My dad bought a Gshock in 1988. In 2021 we finally replaced the battery
Your Gshock is older than me
@@lancermaza6726 only 2 years younger than me. I just bought the newer version of it because at this point that Gshock is an antique. 32 years old heck howmany people have a watch at all let alone one that is almost 4 decades old?
@@JosephDawson1986 Hell yeah, worth every penny. Tough as nail, straight to the point watch. I have a dw 5600 ms and a ga 900.. haven’t let me down yet.

Are you joking or serious?
Atomic is not a gimmick, it syncs everyday for me. The most important point from the atomic feature for me is that i never have to adjust the time for summer/winter time. This together with solar makes it that you never have to set the watch ever again. Set it up when you buy it and you are good to go for life.
same for me never had an issue with the atomic timekeeping I honestly won't buy a watch without one at least for using daily use great stuff
I agree.
Never having to change battery and never having to set time is so chill that I often pick a gshock over one of my nicer watches.
Saying atomic is a gimmick is like saying automatic watches are a gimmick because they are more expensive compared to manual watches.
Get an atomic and you'll love it.
I agree, just got my first G with atomic. syncs every night, no problem, on my nightstand, on my wrist. I have automatics and now I can use the G to set them when I take them out.
Also handy to set the time on automatics!
Yeah i use the G Shock to set the time on all my mechanical watches too.

Also do not use Off! bug spray near your G-shock
Sadly I watched this video after my first and 2nd and 3rs..
G Shock, I cant afford my heroin because I spend it all on GShocks
I've had my gwg-1000 for 2 years now I wear it every day . I work on 2 farms 6 days a week. This watch has me very impressed with it's durability. dirt, mud, grease, oil, diesel, gasoline, pesticides, lots of sweat, and temperatures from -10 to 110 it still works with out a hesitation. I would highly recommend this watch if you are a farmer like my self.
I really like the resin straps on G-Shocks. No irritation or anything.
No rash here , quality skin lol.
Same here no issues 😁
Rash for me... cant stand resin strap
No rash. Just not a fan of the resin.
A very entertaining video (I was laughing at your display of G-Shock addiction). I don't have a G-Shock, but I do have a Casio A168 which I've been very pleased with.
The main reasons I haven't considered a G-Shock is that I've found that any watch band other than metal to be uncomfortable to wear, and I don't need a watch that is as tough or has the massive number of features as a G-Shock.
I love G Shock. I was in the Coast Guard and it was nice to wear one watch that worked in Hawaiian summers and Alaskan winters. It survived engine rm fires and scuba diving activity on liberty. At night, when i woke up with all lights off, it was nice to check the time and see how much more sleep i could get before next watch. It looked good in uniform, PT gear or in casual R an R gear. One watch for one exciting life. Hey, i accidently did a commercial. Lol. Seriously i stand by this watch. It really did take care of me. as i traveled and served.
Just for curiosity... which one did you wear?
@@MrPatsppEnlisted NG here not sure which to get I’m deploying soon and want to get my hands on one before I do , so I’m really curious too lol
Thank you for serving, Aaron. Tell your G shock thanks too 😆
I got my first G-Shock in 2003 when on the USCGC Walnut in Hawaii. Got another one at some point, but the first one I got still runs today. I’ve replaced the battery in it 1-2 times. Only issue is the gasket on the backplate. You have to have it just right in order to maintain water resistance.
Which one did u use?
Awesome video! I have a pathfinder and the light finally stopped working after about 15 years. Its still ticking tho.
You use it on the yak?
Bro - I am currently in the “buying too many gshocks” phase. It kinda hurts because I love them all so much I don’t know which one to wear. I know I’m privileged to say that
People who look down on you for wearing a G-Shock also can't find their girlfriends G-Spot.
No truer words spoke
what girlfriends LOL
Although, that's kind of a sideways burn since guys who wear G-Shocks everywhere don't have girlfriends to please.
@jason holmes . You sir have won the internet
great comment hahaha
Im sure the g shock doesnt spy on you either so that is also a plus
oh snap
What about the Bluetooth?
Only a few GShocks currently have Bluetooth- so not really an issue, generally speaking.
@@thetimeteller hmm what about multi band or atomic time keeping? Your watch is sending signals and if somebody wanted to they could find you... I’m no expert but that’s what I think could happen :)
@@5squaredgaming250 They don't send out signals, they only receive. Just like a standard am/fm radio
Excellent. The atomic watchkeeping might depend on your range from the transmitter. Here in the UK, you're always within range but in the wilds of other countries, it might be a problem. The watch DOES tell you if it doesn't receive a signal.
With or without atomic function, you cant beat a G Shock.
I have been collecting watches a long time, and I almost never run into watch guys that look down on G-Shocks. If anything,it's about the only sub-$1000 watch a lot of them will give respect to.
My ex girlfriend told me my G-Shock looks like a toy watch. Key word: EX
cheers to that. mine called my project track car a shitbox. so I feel yeah bud lol.

You did right thing to her

Girls love cheap movements with brand logo watch.
"I need a watch that's super tough when I'm overlanding but the strap gives me a rash"
-No g-shock guy ever.
It’s not G-SHOCK fault if you’re sensitive
Lol I've never gotten any rash from any gshock
@@zentibel No, having sensitive skin makes you a girl.
In this tropical climate, I get rashes from any other watch but the resin band.
Not to mention none of the other watches last more than a year and they have to get repaired all the time.
@@MadisonMint-qc5nqI live in tropical weather and wear shocks and never had a rash. Have never had to repair or replace batteries.
The last point is really the most important one. When you buy a G-Shock you'll definitely want more and more (their variants, collabs, types, etc.). But if you're willing to get you first one I would definitely go with the DW5600.
So glad you guys said that cause I bought one earlier today lol. My first g shock is going to be the dw5600
Yep 4 months ago DW5600 an today my second a GA700UC-3A arrives I hope !
No, I am not going to want more and more. I want a watch that works, no matter what. I don't even use the features on my low-end G-Shock, and don't want to.
I just replaced the battery in my DW-5600E after a decade of nonstop use. Only watch I've ever needed. Best watch IMO.
Same with swiss army knives
For the longest time I stuck to my mechanical time pieces but I bought my first G Shock(Dw-5600 Blacked out Version) a couple years ago and you basically started telling my story at point 10 where one is not enough lol. Im always finding a good reason to add another to the collection.
Cheap gshock = best gshock
They are supposed to be tough beater not a fashion show.
They can be a fashion show if you want them to be.
@coolthingy Oceanus are real nice watches. I have a super cheap Edifice that impresses me. Casio is a little bit underrated imo
@Giada_De_Low_Rent_Tits battery will run long no need for solar. Swap a $2 battery and you are good to go.
@@mrbacchus6127 i just prefer having the confort to never open the case back. Better for water resistance and everything else.
I would agree completely, except I got the negative display red backed one because it looks way too cool. (DW-5600-HR-1CR)
The G shock watch is a must if you have an active outdoor job. I was in the UK army for 23 years and had 2 of the first kind, they survived every type of abuse imaginable. I had to replace my first one because I lost it in Bosnia. I still wear one today with pride, an immense brand! 👍
Where were you in Bosnia , I wanna free g shock
@@MrKruska11 😂
@@sjwslayer844 I re read that and i wrote g cloc... g shock
Thanks for your wonderful video. I have 4 G-Shocks, 2 Protreks, and 2 Edifices, but the latest one I bought is the g-shock mtg-b2000. The criteria for choosing a watch after turning 50 should not be a urethane strap (there was a trauma that caused it to break because it broke and had to buy it twice as expensively as it got old) and it should be a solar cell. If you open the battery a few times to insert the battery, it is easy to have a problem with waterproofing, and if the body is made of plastic, it peels off and grinds over time, so I buy a product made of metal or carbon... That is the conclusion I learned while buying a watch for about 20 years. The phone and Bluetooth function automatically set the time, which is great. And if possible, buy a G-Shock. Since it hasn't broken yet...
I love how g shock endured all these years i love it ever since i got one when I was just a kid. I love the look the feel and how it makes me feel really reliable and very durable. I even wear it during scuba diving or snorkeling. I wish I kept all my past gshocks for collection. I planning to buy that casioak soon but I still love my current Gorillaz gshock.
After wearing a G shock Rangeman for a couple of years, I got an Apple Watch as a present and broke it on the first adventure I went to haha 😂 and my Rangeman still going 👍
I recently got a GW 9400 as my everyday watch after the battery and OS on my Galaxy Gear S3 just died a slow and painful death... I liked the thing, but the Rangeman is just something else...
Broke 3 G-Shocks in the military. During that time I never had a single issue with my other rotation of watches which were all non-digital. Also broke a Suunto Vector.
All of this taught me a very valuable lesson avoid digital.
You know what you never see someone walking around with a 1980s G-Shock on their wrist that's original. Every G-Shock out there that's more than 5 years old has had some component replaced on it excluding batteries that's just going to happen. I've got watches from the '70s that have had nothing replaced on them nor have I ever had to do anything to them. There of course automatics but that's my point, avoid digital because they simply are not designed to last.
Now if you're just wearing them as a fashion item I guess that's okay, but I've always had a very strict adherence that digital watches are for children or athletes. Digital watches on a child make total sense because they're so lightweight for an athlete the digital factor makes sense because it's easier to keep track of seconds when training.
You taking individual and you put them in the exact same clothes and put a Casio G-Shock on their wrist and it has a certain look you turn around you put a Rolex submariner or an Omega seamaster professional on their wrist in the same outfit now they totally look different and it just adds a little bit more to the overall look of them, they look more grown up.
Smart watches aren't smart because it makes no sense you have a cell phone so if you get a text message your cell phone's going to vibrate in your pocket and you know you got a text message. With the way modern earbuds have gone you can keep one earbud in and when you get a phone call it can alert you right in the earbud and you can take the phone call straight from your earbud. The smartwatch serve no function other than being redundant.
This isn't a rant this is just me pointing out the obvious.

I love your vids, man. I strongly relate to the never ending purchasing of G-Shocks. At 46, I find my interests leading me to things that are long lasting and well made. There are lots of ways to interpret that but I find that the G-Shock line has a lot of variety and flair to feed my curiosity and interest in my the watch game.

They can be respected, but they do have their downsides. The biggest: people aren't satisfied with one (or even two).

Had that same exact Mudmaster. Rediculously huge. Sold it. My DW5600 is my daily grab-and-go watch. Perfect size, love the look of the display and I never have to worry about bumping it against anything. And yeah, probably had it for 10 years and have yet to change the battery. The size of G-Shock models prohibit me from building a G-Shock collection but I do love all the models.
I've been lucky enough to own IWC, Breitling, Glashutte, Tag, Longines but tough times forced me to liquidate most of my collection but they'll take my DW5600 from me when they pry it off my cold, dead wrist.

I am a major Casio watch fanboy, I have a variety of G-Shock variants from Oceanus, Edifice, Protrek, Pathfinder, Master of G, MTG, and Mudmaster every one of my Casios are both solar powered AND atomic, I've never had to change a watch battery nor have I had to set the time on them. They are all accurate to one another to the second. My perspective, solar atomic is worth it!
I love Casio Edifice too but wouldn't say it is a variant of G-Shock. Edifice is better than G-Shock.

Own 38 G Shocks and now waiting for the 39th and... if I may:
1. They don't irritate your skin, not more than any other much more expensive brands.
2. They are stylish AF 😎 if you match them properly, been to exclusive parties where people asked me about the watch I'm wearing (full metal golden square)
3. Atomic time keeping works flawlessly for people who travel, changed 8 countries in 1 year and never had to set my time so... not a gimmick, not to some.
4. G Shocks offer the best price/quality in watch industry, if you want/need cheaper buy regular Casio or other brands but... you'll see what I mean, they worth every penny.
5. Apple watch is for people who can't live without the simplicity of Apple, I have one and... it's crazy, charge it, doesn't help much... rather buy a new phone, easier... add some money and you have your dream phone.
6. Suunto is good but won't stand what a G Shock does, also they don't age as good.
Nice points 👏 subscribed!
G shock is Casio, what are you on about?
@@zxf1323 yeah was rushing in my rant, meant a simple Casio 😄
You are right about the negative display. I have the Casio 5600bb I love it but I find my 5600e (yeah the $38 one) more useful. The display is way easier to read so I end up using it more often.
I've had many atomic and solar function G Shocks, but I just bought a dw 6900, one of the most basic G's you can find, and have fallen back in love with the smplicity and rugged genius of a G
Never understood the addiction to G shocks until I bought one. It almost becomes a part of your body. Need to remember when was the last time I took it off. Heat, cold, rain, showers, beaches, swimming, sports, office and countless other situations. You don't feel more comfortable in any other watch.
Here is a big thing about Apple Watch. YOU HAVE TO CHARGE THE DAMN THING. I wear my watch to bed and I don’t like to take off my watch. I have a GShock as well. Wore it for 8 years.
I hate wearing a watch when im playing games or sleeping
A G Shock for 8 yrs.....damn like most Japanese brands, they last a super long time.
Me too. 6 years and continuing
That's the way. Always with your watch.
Watches that needs charging is CRINGE
Just bought the DW5600BB-1. Ive owned a bunch of G shocks in the past, but I never have connected with one until now! Yes, the negative display can be hard to see, but this watch is absolutely sick! 200m of water resistance in a very sleek and wearable case. So happy I purchased it.
My most prized G Shock is my (about) 1987 DW-5600 691 H Screw Back, I got it for about $20 and completely refurbished it including grinding the scratches out of the glass and polishing it back to like new. Got reproduction resins, the only thing missing is an original buckle. My favorite G Shock to wear is the Mudman, I just really like that watch
I'm getting myself a G-Shock because of the MF Doom line "G-Shocks and biological clocks", and I've always liked the design of G-Shocks ever since I was a kid.
RIP to MF Doom - I was just banging his sound :)

Many years ago I bought the yellow one, it was a real looker. I gave it to a friend who always admired it. I miss it.
Love my GSTB400-1A! My first G-Shock, and definitely won't be my last. Have gotten nothing but compliments on it, it's flashy, but not too flashy (especially with the strap) and everyone thinks I "broke the bank" on it.
I’ve wore a G-Shock for 10 months , hardly ever taken it off. I’m a dairy farmer. Manure, grease, water, impact. I’ve swam with it, fixed equipment , trimmed hooves. It’s like armour. Gave my dad one. Typically his watches last a month. These watches wear tough. It was a good investment. Going to start looking for my next one, one that doesn’t smell like manure and diesel
Consider the steel ones! They may end up scratched up pretty bad in that kind of job, but as it’s not resin it should be better if solvents end up seeping into the plastic.
I am totally agree with the last point on the list! I got my first G-shock which is a GD-100 back in 2018 and I talked to myself "well, this is enough as most G-shock will last more than a few years, okay I am done". But just recently when I saw a used "The King" GX-56BB with good deal on sale, I ended up getting that one lol. And now, that GA2000 looks very cool too....
I've never had a Multi Band 6 Casio watch that doesn't work all the time. This feature/function has never failed on me. It should be said that I haven't used watches like these for more than a decade or so, but still. This feature has been incredibly reliable. Having the watch always showing the exact time without me having to ever thinking about it sure is a convenient and highly sought after feature in a watch.
Thanks for video, I'm hard on watches, enjoyed this very much!
I own 2 G-shocks my self and they are among my favorites. My G-100 was my first and I recently picked up a GA-B2100 but I do also wear and love my simple Seiko 5 self winding field watch.
I love the atomic time keeping function. It's cool to watch your G Shock change at the exact second as your phone without a Bluetooth connection. Knowing that your watch always has the correct time and that you never need to change the battery is the best.
I’ve had the mud master for about 6 years. Changed the batteries (has two I guess) once. Wear it daily doing construction and has had no issues. Solid watch!
Far out, that’s the best video on G-shock watches I’ve come across here on CZcams. Thank you, sir.
Thanks man, really, thank you very much on this video! I got addicted to hand watch since i found one lol. And now after like 5 years that watch is kinda falling apart and i need a new one. And as a truck driver and crane operator i choose g shock mudmaster bcse of its robust appearance and toughness. And again, thank you for letting me know that am not missing anything important if i don’t buy most expensive model! I don’t need atomic link and i don’t want it to turn on lights on movement of my wrist. You saved me a lot of money! Cheers!
I live in Alaska and fly medevac I used to love my Apple Watch, until I forgot to charge it. It’s useless! Plus when it’s -50 or -60 the Apple watch battery will not allow the watch to work
I'm a welder for the past 30 years and Casio watches, not only the G shock range, are the only watches that I have found last through the rough and tumble of my job. They just seem to be all built very well.
That’s a truck driver and see on my watch should I can’t destroy that another Casio watches they seem to hold up to the abuse
Just got my first g shock. I really like em. The chunky look is what I like about them. I got black with the red face and have already ordered a white whith with the bronze face! I’m hooked! 💕😃
Just got myself a Casio pro trek 3500 (didn't want the 3510's black display) and it's a beast. Tough solar, Triple sensor, 20bars, atomic time and all the tools but found it on sale for 200 bucks, a third of the mudmaster. I'm very happy with it
Love my iPhone but can’t stand Apple watches, would take a G-Shock any day of the week.
I had one and hated it. Sold it to wear all my other watches. I missed the versatility and fun part that goes along with wearing a good old fashioned watch.
@Patrick Nwanyanwu yah bruh fr dropping it on a magnet every night really sucked 😐
Apple watches are for sophisticated sissy's.
I literally subscribed because of this video 😃 Love every single part of it and especially the end where you exactly describe how addicted you get by these watches 😅 Good job keep up the fun videos. Who thought watch videos could be fun right? The Time Teller: "Hold my beer"
You are so right ... it is so addicting.
Thumbs up for the pen explanation!!
I just want to say that I use the Atomic Clock every day and I live in Canada. I put the watch by a south facing window at night before midnight local time and it picks up a signal most of the time at midnight. The exception is during storms and heavy rains. If I miss a synchronization on one night, it picks up the atomic signal the next night. I believe that if it misses a signal at midnight, it tries again every hour several times. Thanks for the review. Entertaining as usual.
Despite having a varied and extensive watch collection, the one watch I wear most often, is the solar version of the DW5600 - the G5600E. A rugged, no nonsense watch of excellent value.
Kes FitzGerald Tnx for posting. Saved me the trouble of scouring the net for Casio products. Looking for a basic g-shock with solar. Will add a nato strap adapter and make it my new beater. Cheers!!

The 1st watch I ever bought for myself back in the late 80's was a simple Casio digital watch with a 50m waterproof rating, just like the one you showed. I swam with it, surfed with it, scuba dived with it & it survived fine & was my daily wear for at least a decade. It had long faded from my memory when I found it in a junk draw just recently for orphaned electronic bits & pieces, how it had survived the clean out culls of several past girlfriends I will never know as throwing out my stuff seemed to be a past time for them, do they have a bloody club or something. Anyway, I digress, I wacked a new battery in the little Casio, I can't find a model number to quote but I'm betting someone here will know the watch I'm talking about, & it came to life !. I have hung it beside my computer as a quick time/date checker & it still keeps perfect time, but now after watching this video I realize I have never owned a G-Shock, so having found this amazing site called Ebay or something & with your permission, I'm goin shoppin, cheers, great video by the way.
That last part was spot on!! I got one G-Shock now I have 10.
Same here and just ordered the "Casio-Oak"... ugh
I have 4 but in reality it is only 2 different because the others are the same exact model. Love the Blue n Gloss black color combination.
I've been wearing g shock since 9th grade. I'm 45 now. Ive had numerous models and their durability is unmatched but as I've gotten older, it seems like I need a more mature watch. Two years ago, I purchased the re-issue of the Seiko Arnie. It's tough, functional and it looks badass. I still wear a dw5600e to work every day and that will never change.
Unmatched...?! You need to get out of your basement.
@@michaeldbhawker3556 Why, my basement has everything I need. And the wife rarely comes down there.
@@northshoreman Haha love the comback
@@michaeldbhawker3556 "you need to get out of your basement" says the guy living at his ma's house.
Great video! I just bought an all black GA2100 it hasn't arrived yet and this was very helpful.
Informative and entertaining as always! Thanks
LOL never had an issue with the strap on my G.SHOCK actually been using the same watch 3 years every day now and its going strong. Never heard of anyone having issues with theirs unless they´re trying to sell straps.
I’ve had mine for about a year it’s a mudmaster I work as a auto collision tech and no other watches hold up . I have an omega chronograph and a Rolex that I never wear. I do get the rash and have to stop wearing it for a week but it holds up to constant abuse .
I do notice what watches other people wear, I would think it superficial however to dismiss other's choice of accoutrements 👍
Thank you bro. I'm about to buy my first g shock tomorrow. This really help. I like the 2100s or a g steel. I like the simple one's
your vids are so entertaining and informative! just got into watch collection and currently have the mudmaster gg1000 1a3 and mtgb3000FR 40th anniv..looking forward to have more!
One more thing YOU need to know: if you change the original strap with a rag one, the watch will loose some shock resistance.
What does that mean?😅
@@ahmeedkhan7758 Original strap absorbs impact energy and protects the back of the watch especially. A rag strap absorbs almost no energy and leaves the back of the watch (where is stainless steel back) unprotected.
How often are ppl being shocked that they need this special watch?... I've been shocked once,it scared tf outta me..
@@chicofromph33nix64 shock resistance in this context applies to if it falls off and hits something hard the energy transfers into the starp
@@theimperialfistsspacemarin3050 I know i feel dumb... i got that after i posted this.. thank you for taking time to explain and not bring mean to me
Completely agree, “one is not enough”!
Atomic is awesome! Keeps my G-Shock precise to the second. Have been using Atomic G-Shocks since 2005. Never any regrets. Love it!
Nice video full of banter , jest and serious information
I wear my G-Shock Atomic Solar when I'm hunting, shooting, skydiving and working on trucks and motorcycles. It's been perfect. Although my atomic time-setting feature works flawlessly, it isn't really necessary on a watch that might be off by a couple of seconds a year anyhow. And since it's a solar watch I never need to worry about the backlight running the battery down. I've been wearing it since 2011. It's my only G-shock but I will be collecting others.
I like the radio controlled G-Shock. I use mine to set my automatic watches, to be sure they're set accurately...
Thanks great topic😊
My favorite G-Shock is
G STEEL Resin Band GSTS110-1A.
My wife really surprised me for our anniversary and it’s probably the one that get the most compliments on.
Amazing, Thanks!
The radio control time keep on my G-Shock (GW-3000) works perfectly well. I've never had to manually adjust the time or date the six years I've owned it, even for DST/GMT and is always bang on to the second!
Personally I think atomic time is more beneficial to those in the military, as they wouldn’t necessarily have access to a phone to reset the time
I love G shock when I was young, now I consider analog quartz watches over g shock with aging, Citizen promaster is one of my favorites.
thanks man, hepled a lot even now
Regarding Apple watch comparisons I would love to hear your thoughts on the new GShock Heartrate enabled watch due out in April!!
@@c.g.7575 April the 20th. Although in the meantime I have bought the Garmin Fenix 5x as it was 33% off!
I have several watches ranging from the G-Shock DW5600 to Omega Seamaster 300 pro. I love the Omega but the DW5600 is the one I use the most often. The DW5600 is a hell of a good watch for the price.
I’ve just bought that stormtrooper gshock with Bluetooth (didn’t care about that) and your last point is so true. I immediately started longing for that purple one. Good thing these are cheaper than most watches
tnx for the info even after 4 yrs still helps 😊😊😊
Just bought my first 2 g shocks, and I'm loving them
I’ve owned G-SHOCK watches since I was around 16 years old, never had irritation on the straps, all my watches with atomic time keeping works very well and there all in sync with each other👌👍
Great video!! Lots of fun to WATCH!!😉
Love your presenting. Top dude. Going to get my first G just from listing to you.
I’ve only ever boughten g shocks and recently I was trying to find a new watch from another brand that was nicer looking but then they came out with the new slim watch and I immediately got it and I love it
Love my g-shock mudmaster.. no issue with the resin strap.. wave ceptre and solar are my favorite features.. everyone needs a gshock.. 👍🏻
Great video and information!
Really nice work amigo. Excellent.
