It wasn't mentioned but a fun fact about fighting demons is the more primal a weapon the more effective it is. So swords, clubs, and fire are more effective than bullets and las.

Makes sense as melee weapons are favored by Khorne as they see it as more dangerous (debatable) and honorable than guns but in turn make it also effective against them... cause you know warp shenanigans

I would love to get some more lore on unaligned Daemons and to see how powerful they can get
Failbaddon's sword is pretty OP, seeing how it went toe-to-toe with Big E. Most unaligned daemons are either pretty weak or in it for themselves.

My understanding is theoretically, stupid powerful. But since the gods of chaos have gotten pretty clingy with their toys and don't like sharing unaligned daemons tend to get the short end of the stick. And that's mainly because after they made belakor into a daemon prince they went "yeah this was a bad idea even by our standards" since he's crazy powerful and basically uncontrollable. Since they don't want belakor 2: chaotic Boogaloo they aren't very keen on powering up any daemons who aren't theirs exclusively.
Shai-Tan, an entity formed from the coalescing of tortured psycher souls of planet Morningstar. Powerful enough to stand its ground against a Primarch and was only successfuly subjugated due to Magnus promising to create a paradise for those tortured psyker souls. It can instantly dominate the minds of humans and can also easily dominate the minds of the Thousand Sons of all people. The minds of the TS are the most heavily defended among all of the 18 Primarch legions, the mental fortress of the Thousand Sons are insane and are impossible to invade unless you also risk mutually assured destruction, and this Shai-Tan entity easily broke through all those mental defenses. Ahriman once toyed with a strong psyker Inquisitor who dared invade his mind, it wasn't even a challenge it's just sad since that Inquisitor got played around inside the mental battle. Astraeos, who Ahriman taught the secrets of creating a mental fortress, repelled the mental invasions of a group of Grey Knights, the best psychers the Loyalists can offer, they failed to invade his mind fortress and plunder the secrets, that is how insane the mental fortress of the Thousand Sons. Even with this much mental defense, Shai-Tan can easily dominate their minds, shows how insanely powerful this entity is.
Shaitan was once a psychotic sentient entity that is free of warp taint, but then got corrupted by chaos, and became even stronger and more psychotic. So now it is a semi deamon entity who is bound to Magnus and helps him and the TS. It was stated that Shai-Tan still grows in power even to this day.
Drach'nyen already has the title of end of empires so..yeah insanely powerful.
*If evil warp-corrupted psychic entities can also be classified as unaligned chaos daemons then there are a LOT of extremely powerful ones."
- The Shards of Magnus were insanely powerful and displayed alpha+ powers during the 2nd Rubric/War of the Shards. The shard of vengeance was bathing in chaos power and is just pure chaos tainted evil.
- Yokai: Living automatons infused with warp entities, Temelucha was strong enough to totally hide from foresight and the presence of warp entities temporarily. She was not weak, the Yokai and Tartaruchi had been killing powerful xenos and even kept dead Eldar mementos as trophies, it's just that Ahriman is insanely powerful and is the number 1 sorcerer in the galaxy. What can she do against a prince favoured and protected by Tzeentch?
- The Voydes of Drekhye, shadow creatures/malignat warp wraiths that without banishment spells (like the Sign of Ammaterasu) or immense psychic energy, are a pain to kill and will just keep respawning.
"The Chronicles of Ursh and other poetic grimoires spoke of forbidden sciomancy summoning these voydes: malignant warp wraiths that unravelled their victim’s souls and devoured them piece by piece."
When can we get an Argel Tal vid seen as he was such a bro? He’s always mentioned in vids and seems to be a pivotal character in a couple of peoples stories yet we haven’t had a vid yet!
Argel Tal and Kharn were indeed best bros and completely loyal to eachother. This was despite them being from two different legions that are polar opposites, Argel Tal's a legion of religious zealots and Kharn's bloodthirsty berserkers. They went on many fun adventures together.

You know if the Daemons weren’t malicious entities made to cause pain and torment mortals constantly, they would probably be chill to hang out with depending on what your doing.
Khorne Daemons: Good buddies to watch a game with and will help you out if you’re about to get jumped in said bar.
Tzeentch Daemons: Can probably help with finances and predict which days that may be lucky for you.
Nurgle Daemons: Can help you with gardening if you’re for some reason into that.
Slannesh Daemons: Good Friends with Benefits assuming that you don’t ask for a handy and they will offer decent dating advice for you from time to time.
Heresy... a Commissar would be a better friend for a person of your inclinations.

Pinnacle Eldar, in all their psychic might and numbering in the quadrillions somehow only mustered up the weakest chaos god.
Medieval age humanity, not knowing what a psyker even is and only numbering 400 million, gave birth to the other 3 that completely dwarf Slaneesh in power.

The war in heaven is what turned the Warp from a zone to a frothy pot of emotions taking form. There is no evidence that any of the Chaos Gods existed in form until Humanity emerged. If you can find me some I would be super interested, currently the Canon is definitely that Humanity is the source for the Three.
It's not any more stupid than 10 humans forming a single human more powerful than The Warp itself.
Edit: I forgot about those awful Ynnari books, I believe those do reference them already existing...which is just as dumb because there would have been worshippers during the war in heaven and there weren't but, whatever, GW barely understands their own lore at this point.

You should have talked about the furies as well since they are the only non-affiliate daemons and are bannished from serving the big four. I found about them while looking if there are any undivided daemons as there are chaos space marines but no.... so the furies were the next best thing.

I think there are technically minor chaos gods that arent part of the Four that you could use. Just cut the horns off of some bloodletters and stick them on some daemonettes and call them something random and biblical. Then use the rules from the one that suites your tastes.

If you think about it, the Chaos Gods are really just HUGE daemons.

More lore on Battlemace 40 million, Shark Daddy and the Galatic sharks, origins of the Choatic Marines, the Chaplin and more. I strongly believe there's similarities between warhammer and Battlemace.

There is a way to succinctly describe the Chaos God, their Daemons, and their "Great Game", but even I fear my revelation is an act of Heresy only a step below Horus'.
It's strange that there are no non-malicious gods, unless you count the God Emperor as one, and then he is only one out of hundreds of similarly powerful beings.
Well you might consider some of the xenos gods to be less malicious but thats heresy
It’s a misconception that the big 4 are malicious. They’re two sides of a coin. Khorne is honor, bravery but hatred and slaughter at the same time.
Nurgle is longevity, calmness but degradation and decay at the same time.
Tzeentch is planning, preparation but also deceit and instability.
And slaneesh is passion, extroversion but also degenerancy and excess.
They’re all top cunts, but not malicious cunts even if their actions and follows perform malicious acts.
I guess negative emotions are felt more strongly than positive ones. You tend to remember really hating someone than someone you love.

Your explanation of them being a net positive actually does make sense I mean yeah 1 demon MIGHT equal 1 space marine in a fight depending on the demon but most demons are gonna kill 10+ humans before they die.(yes I understand the imperial guard slaughters hordes of demons but those demons almost have always killed civilians first.)

Since the Chaos Gods were born from and feed on human (mostly negative) emotions,and Khorne has existed since at least the Middle Ages, I'd say the answer is no,and that's the simplest explanation.

That was, of course, until he betrayed Marduk, and was imprisoned within a Dreadnought for doing so. On the subject of daemonhosts hating those who captured them, Cherubael has become quite an understanding host within Eisenhorn's unit. In the short story Rose Wishes Thorn, in the Ravenor omnibus, Eisenhorn tells Ravenor that both Cherubael and himself have "come to an understanding".

Daemonettes are my favourite demons...and demons are my favourite things in warhammer, they are cool as hell.
Is GW's take on chaos their most original IP? Most other factions are slightly reductive having been seen before elsewhere- orcs, elves, xenomorphs etc. I suppose necrons and Tau are fairly original but don't have the same presence in the setting as chaos does. Chaos/demons in many other settings are presented as ultimate, unbeatable evil that must be prevented. Demons are often represented as mindless angry beasts- such that khorne is a parody of this representation. GW have really fleshed out Chaos as a multidimensional (like what I did there?) Faction.

Best way to cure a hangover, buy a jar of marinated picles, remove the picles from the jar, drink the water in the jar, eat a picle, drink the water again, then a picle, repeat until the hangover is gone.
We have been using this method in my family for over 100 years and it worked every time.
