  • Visma-Lease a Bike's MASTERPLAN To DOMINATE In 2024
    Even though Jumbo-Visma doesn’t exist anymore, we’ve got the freshly renamed Visma-Lease a Bike, and while their name is different, their goals are the same. They want to repeat the historic 2023 season, not only with some new-look jerseys, but with a wild new masterplan that just got confirmed by the team at their media event, looking to assert their dominance in the upcoming season.

    How will they repeat when Pogi will definitely destroy everyone at the Giro? That alone will mean they won't repeat their success last year.

      Was thinking the same thing. They're just going to stage hunt with WVA and Kooij at the Giro. No one to go for the GC there.

    • @tobiasdencker853
      @tobiasdencker853 Před 5 měsíci +3

      They wont win the giro but vingegaard will most likely win the tour and vuelta

    • @draregrevtaam1147
      @draregrevtaam1147 Před 5 měsíci +1

      They are not going to repeat and they also didn't say they expect to win the Giro. Uijtdebroeks gets to go for GC, but he doesn't get a dedicated team with him. The team will most of all go stage hunting. Kelderman for example allready confirmed he is allowed to go stage hunting, while van Aert en Kooij are obvious stage hunters as well. Sure if Uitdebroeks ends up leading the GC riders will have to adjust their role, but that's very unlikely.
      Besides that it's only obvious that they will contend for the Tour and Vuelta.

      They indeed were, but Jumbo-Visma took over the World Tours, so in that regard, they're technically the best team :) But you're completely right, looking at points, UAE emerged on top!

      I don't agree. They would have loved to keep primos but to many leaders....look at the 2023 Vuelta. It was better to let him go and for us it provides more exciting racing.

    SKY had a similar rebrand and lineup change and it had a detrimental effect. Being a top level winning team is a balancing act. Plugge’s actions recently could cause an implosion if not careful.

      It's a fair point. Their sport director Merijn Zeeman is very ambitious and still seems very motivated to keep on improving which is essential, but he also pointed out that he has other ambitions as well and is open for moving to another sport if that organisation is interesting enough. So at some point he might move to a different sport. These key people are usually essential for teams to stay on top.

    • @pablothecloudman
      @pablothecloudman Před 5 měsíci +2

      Cycling teams generate almost all of their money off of sponsorships, while teams of other sports generally have other sources of revenue (like stadium tickets to name one, plenty of others). This is why teams will have major sponsors in their name, as well as all the logos on their jerseys, so that they can promote the sponsors as much as possible
