i had a generic urban kind of island and i decided to terraform it all into a cluttered, messy, fairy forest and honestly i have no regrets
Omg yes! I started out super urban, moved down to a older, brick style town, now i'm going cottagecore and I think I might like this style the most!
thats exactly what i what ive got going on rn and i really wanna do a cottagecore theme instead but im finding the transition so tedious esp with how much work went into my current theme. any tips? :(((
@@mwoj01 it was definitely a tedious process, but i found using a map planner helped. you 100% need to take lots of breaks or i guarentee you will hit a creative wall! so set small goals and make use of social media for inspiration! thicket_crossing and kokirieevee on instagram (among others) are the queens of cottagecore imo.

cottagecore can be whatever you want it to be. there are many ways to represent it. and I think you did great!!
I came here to comment almost exactly this. Cottagecore is a pretty (for lack of better words) messy aesthetic, and I that's one of the things that make it so beautiful. Pretty much anything can be cottagecore if you're looking at it the right way

Yes! Cottagecore is a something natural (with flowers, plants, etc) that makes you feel safe and happy. It can be anything. Gnomes, tea cups, flamingos for your garden.. anything. It's one of my favorite aesthetics. Just so perfect for anyone. It's also good because cottagecore is an umbrella. There is cottagecore, goblincore, fairycore, dark cottagecore, etc.

I was planning on making a cottagecore/fairycore island and everyone manages to make it so so cozy and cute but mine doesn’t look nearly as good for some reason :( Your island looks great! Veery cute!

The trick is flowers and trees everywhere lol. Also terraforming small little cliffs behind building (that aren’t accessible by villagers) that you can put a tree and some flowers on. Also weeds, placing weeds in empty spaces is a good way to get that messy cottagecore look too. Lots of little natural props can be good too. Like a those little stone stools randomly places in a wooded area of your island. Small rivers and water falls / lakes that aren’t connected to each other also help create micro environments too.

I was having so much trouble choosing a theme for my island and once I discovered cottage core I decided to go for a fairy theme. then I discovered fairycore AND WAS SO HAPPY. It's so incredibly cute and fun ;w;

i've always had a soft spot for cottagecore and fairycore and you got 'em real good
I’ve seen a couple screenshots of castles using silos and the iron/stone fence that seem to go really well with Victorian style gardens. I’m not sure if that style has a name, but I’d like to somehow mix that with fairy/cottage core...

Super cute !! I like how you mixed the wood & stone paths. I’ve been having a hard time trying to incorporate the other path types (I’ve been using a mixture of mossy star & mossy moon stones)
i love these concept of island , so detailed and pleasing to look at. personaly im going for a tropical theme with some of these elements like the terrain, natural environment, wood furniture in orange

The white tablecloth 2x2 table is customizable - you can change the pattern of the cloth. Use the patterns you get from Sable!

% P E A C E % in the able sisters shop (clothes) the hedgehog who sits at the back sewing is called Sable and if you talk to her everyday for like a week (i don’t remember exactly how long) she will give you more designs to use when customising

all none natural or furniture items count as dropped items. i recommend using nova lights instead.

Once you pay off the loan after you get the upstairs room, you should get the option to change the walls, roof etc when you ask to customise the house with tom nook

We can thank people like BriclynForest for exposing this style of acnh landscaping on CZcams. When the game was new I was looking for people who designed with a more natural theme like her and she was the ONLY CZcamsr who showcased that natural design look (she didn't even have terraforming when she first uploaded her vids) it was her and japanese people on twitter
