We know that the concept of a collective unconscious is real when there is no need to check the comments to KNOW that everyone got Matt Rife vibes from this
Cause he's already peaked in that department. The only dudes at his shows are those women's husbands or boyfriends. He wants a bigger audience and the only audience left to gain is single dudes 18-35. Since more people are talking about him than ever before seems like it's been a decent business move so far.
It is a back and forth play. He is an attractive man and women crave for him and his good looks, you see it very often when he is doing crowd work. Through his act he has that sweet bad boy persona wich the women find appealing. It is basically a flirt with those insult-compliments. And because he is hot it works. Someone like Louis C.K (despite his former actions) could never pull something like that
It’s just sad that he thinks the way to get a male audience is to blatantly disrespect women instead of just… oh I don’t know, write actually funny jokes for once? But apparently he wants to appeal to all the incels, divorcees and rednecks now
@@etothez9898 I don’t think women are all that interested in him anymore after that blunder. Also his ‘good looks’ are due to filler, you can see the difference clearly in his old pictures. He made some questionable jokes. It's been all over the internet (comedy and commentary channels mostly). Do not recommend looking him up directly though.
his clips on tiktok started going around, garnered attention for funny crowdwork but also because he was attractive. large generalization, but men kept saying he wasn’t funny and people only liked him bc he was hot and his largely female audience defended him saying he was funny. lo and behold he gets a netflix special, and opens it with a…. really bad joke about domestic violence. the short version of the joke is “maybe women wouldn’t get hit if they got back in the kitchen” which ppl didn’t like for obvious reasons. now he’s getting called out for jaw implants, being generally unfunny, and just a huge dickwad
He has good crowd work, which us usually where he does well in views, but his set jokes are just a bit tired. Nothing engaging about them from the 20 min I managed to get through from the special. They would have popped off like 20 years ago maybe.
Men when they say they struggle with their mental health: I am choosing to make everyone else struggle with my mental health when I as an adult have the responsibility to not harm others, and I’m choosing to ignore that because that’s easier and more fun for me to make my health struggles your problem- I have access to healthcare, I just don’t use it. It’s not an issue of access. Arguably I have the most access to mental healthcare out of any demographic in this country. What I am doing is not self love or self care, it is punching down and liking how it makes my hands feel to cause harm rather than engage in the difficult, draining, painful, and taxing process of healing. Edit: “BUT IM” bro I’m a man, if it’s not about you don’t make it be

I think what hits the hardest in this whole skit, is that the audience is always clapping and cheering, not laughing.
this is more horror than comedy, and I'm here for it
Literally psychological horror
We know that the concept of a collective unconscious is real when there is no need to check the comments to KNOW that everyone got Matt Rife vibes from this
I watched at most 10 seconds of his stand up by accident and I agree. 💀
Literally saw the title and the character and was the first thing i thought😂
I didnt hun, because i'm not a netflix lemming. Please broaden your mind...there exist people that dont watch cultural programming garbage😂

Caitlin went through a late puberty just for this skit, what a legend.
"What the fuck is that about?" was so on point I'm crying

The cheering when mf just said hi was deadly accurate
“My job is to tell it like it is. Oh wait, no. It’s to make people laugh. I always get those two things confused.”
The most accurate Matt Rife impression.
The last joke is funny coz he literally fought with his plastic surgeon online🤭

@@thaloblue I hold space every week just in case.
You’re such a good actress I feel like without the filters I can see your mannerisms and awesomeness more
Laughing at your own jokes is such a subtle oof and you nailed it
how does caitlin manage to put the finger right where it hurts? the depictions are so accurate
What blows my mind is if the majority of your fanbase is women, WHY would you want to alienate them? Just seems like a bad business move
But I bet he’s never gonna admit that and just chalk it up to losing weight. So essentially he wants an audience full of insecure women and misogynistic men?
maybe it's cause you stay true to facts, have integrity and not kiss everyone's ass to get famous and rich?
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a male comedian hopping like that, but it strangely fits 😂
This was so accurate I almost hurled my phone out in the street. It was uncanny how you simply nailed this.
The clapping when a dude does anything beyond being a lazy bum is giving big participation trophy vibes
Nailed it again 😂
Literally same thing applies to women 😂 they do stuff that men have invented, been perfecting and excelling for millennia and call themselves special and brave like wtf 😂

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for pointing this crap out! What is the deal with this kind of humor getting so much undeserved adoration?! Caitlin, your comedy rocks my world!
he got a jawline carved into his face by a surgeon so now it’s easier for people to laugh cause they find him attractive 🫥
@@wednesdayjill9241🤣Proof of a TRUE artiste
Never heard of "Matt Rife" until I read all the comments mentioning him. If he's anything like this - and given Caitlin's hitherto dead-accurate portrayal of all types of people, I know that he's definitely like this - then I won't bother looking him up (though I suppose he'll get so big I won't be able to avoid him soon enough).
They would have popped off like 20 years ago maybe.
look him up just to see how accurate she is
I like him.Comedians shouldn't be punished for making jokes.
This is so true. If women would act like this everyone would call them out. But men are get applause for shit like this.
Edit: “BUT IM” bro I’m a man, if it’s not about you don’t make it be
the worst thing is when you look over at your family to see if theyre gonna scroll to something else and you see them laughing at the comedian 😭

@@phoebescott6787Kinda the point of an open forum. Are you actually confused about that? This your first time on here?
It's even funnier right after watching Matt Rifes netflix special that came out last week
That guys fighting for his life to defend his dogshit special that he only got because his female simps made him famous 😂
He's really handsome and that makes it super hard for him in comedy especially cuz people who think he's handsome are 80% of his audience essentially paying his bills 🤷🏾♂️
“I love women. I’m a feminist.” Never heard that before.
"My mom is a woman"

I kept going "this is so not funny" and then I realised right, that's the point :D Well done!
I love seeing the end of whatever that thing is distorting around the filter

"What it's like to chew Five Gum" if Five Gum was a Matt Rife comedy special
No because he’s never been funny, how he got such a big comedy platform in the first place amazes me, especially when there are much better comedians out there who aren’t nearly as popular, Matt Rife is just lucky so many people thought he was attractive because otherwise he wouldn’t have had a career.
Honestly? Becuase he's hot. It was never the humor
It’s just bc he’s hot and men find everyone funny who makes fun of women
Shows how much women actually control things. Guy has a lucrative career because women find him attractive and he can still suck at what he does.
He ain't even hot though
Is that his real jawline or did he show his plastic surgeon a gigachad photo?
Caitlin your script is always top notch but did not know your sound editing skills were this good too, the audience reactions were great
This is why I love Bo Burnham, while most of male comedians are “bitches be crazyyy🤪” Bo attacks everyone equally😌
