    Finally after searching through all the fake recommended videos on youtube titled "5 or 10 best bike pumps in 2019" i found this legit one. I just wanted to find a pump on amazon thats not a complete piece of trash and waste of money.

    Thank you!!! Viewed this some months back, inspired me to compare all my gauges, found the gauge I use most was -7 psi off, 2nd most used gauge -3psi off. Purchased a Topeak gauge and thats what I use now for all my tires and to check my other gauges against. Tuned in today for info on floor pumps, I'm getting tired of using my frame mounted pump. Thanks for the awesome info.

    Entertaining video. I have a few tire pressure gauges. I was surprised to find them very accurate(or reasonably close). Even the "one dollar" kind that you see at the checkout counter. I purchased a dozen or two of those; they make great, useful, and inexpensive gifts.

    12:09 or for those that pumping with a small pump is painful, but at least I got a nice Lezyne pump so it's not as bad as before, but still quite tiring.
    but I always have both, in case one fails I can use the other, but once the seal in the head for a CO2 cartridge failed so I lost all air, and had to use the pump.

  • @mtbboy1993
    @mtbboy1993 Před 4 lety +1

    I got used to the difference between pumps so it does not matter which pump I use, but having a base does not hurt.

  • @melstaxihomevideos7565

    I bought a new MTB recently. My old bike was a Giant Anthem X. It was a great bike but I felt I needed something more all mountain oriented. I was constantly bottoming out on my old bike, but it was super smooth. I bought a new Pivot, not the top line model. I can't help but feel there is some resistance compared to my old bike. Just doesn't have the same efficiency of pedaling. I feel like I have to work much harder to move the bike and it doesn't coast nearly as far. Suggestions? Not that my body couldn't use more hard work. It seems to be draining a little of the fun out of my ride.

    My curiousity..What is reasonable price range for floor pump ?

  • @caribouwho
    @caribouwho Před 3 lety

    got a Bell floor pump cheap at Princess Auto (Canada). It’s a great pump, head has dual ports for schrader and presto, good pressure gauge, accessories for basketballs, etc. The problem is the lever that engages the head on the valve; very hard to open and close and there is no way to get good purchase on it unless you get your fingers in between the hose and the lever... where they get mashed ...every... frickin’... time!

    • @rgmtb
      @rgmtb  Před 3 lety

      OUCH! If the pump still works well maybe use gloves? The Lezyne uses a screw on adapter that has worked well for me. Though even with that adapter, you have to know how to use it so you don't remove the valve core by accident.

    • @josephsteffen2378
      @josephsteffen2378 Před rokem

      It sounds like the corners of the air chuck lever are too square. Or they need a touch of lube. The the square"-ish" shape is what locks the lever in the "hold" position. You can soften that corner by lightly sanding. Don't remove too much! Because the lever will not securely stay in the hold position. I'd try a little bit of silicone grease before surgery.

    I have a floor pump, a cheap one I got for $40aud, it does the job quickly. My issue is, I have to be careful when flipping the release flap as it sometimes hits my thumb if I'm not careful. Is that normal?

    • @rgmtb
      @rgmtb  Před 3 lety

      Yeah, all these pump have some kind of quarks here and there. I've had a few where the thumb lock worked a few times and other times just wouldn't grab tight. Just the luck of the draw.
