You handled the broken piece of elastic band far better than I would have. Staying calm and collected after the frustration of thinking you are doing the right thing over and over again is not an easy thing.
I would have become so irrationally angry I might have smashed the entire puzzle
It's likely the prying open of the panel is what snapped the elastic. He was supposed to use the crypto to help solve that part. I think he missed a small piece too that would've helped and made it more obvious (it would've sat on the dial so he wouldn't have needed the sharpie either)
All that said, I'm always impressed with Chris's mentality and demeanor when handling these kinds of things!
I would have fitted a new rubber band, closed it, then opened it with the key!
i would take a fck this sht break every 5 mins but never give up :D
@@zSanityz smart… that could quite possibly be the case
I wish the boat had a spring loaded piece to slide out when it leaves dock and block him from falling out of it. But other than that it seems pretty ingenious.
If you flip the puzzle so that gravity is holding the guy in the boat as you move the boat, it would be easier.. I thought he was holding the puzzle upside-down the whole time he was struggling.
I thought I saw a tiny magnet on the side of the guy, I’m wondering if he just wasn’t facing the right direction.
for a $1k puzzle it should have been obvious to be in there. whether it was rotated incorrectly or not is just a lazy design error. also the broken elastiband should have been doubled to be working 100% of the time. Understandable mistakes for $30 puzzle. Not for a $1k puzzle
I just wish he wasn't lego. Makes the whole thing feel cheaper. Good appeal for kids though to be fair.
it does look kind of hideous at first glance but when you understand what it actually is, it grows on you and becomes a charmingly gorgeous little thing. I thought the idea of sending a knight on a quest to claim Excalibur in puzzle box form was genius, really well put together too. going through the cave and getting on the boat were fantastic ideas. it's a great example of how versatile 3D printing can be, building things that would otherwise be impossible! truly some brains went into this one.
Spin the corner piece that spins , a numbered dial will fall out when it is angled correctly. This is your template for the dial lock. You then need to figure out the correct word or words for the combination.
Spells ARTHUR..not get box cutters lol
@@travelplayers5544 the elastic band broke. Even if he got it right the door wouldn't open.
@@jamesdaniels8007 It's very possible that the band broke because he pried it open
@@soulsparko true, but we don't know, it all depends on where the band was positioned. Either way, the band wasn't close to the cutter.
@@soulsparko the band must have snapped from strain either while fitting or it got caught on one of the gears while spinning.
Dude, that was wild, imagine printing this over and over with every iteration....amazing...
we need an update on the 937 and what the puzzle is all about .........
Apparently, Chris is missing a wheel with numbers carved on it that comes attached to the silver nob that's used for solving the door puzzle. Looks like the number is somehow associated to unlock the door.
First thought came to me is Arthur Pendragon
9, 3, 7 makes ARTHUR
5, 0, 11 makes GEORGE
1, 6, 4 makes EDWARD
Which leaves 2, 8, and 10, which are PE, HA and RO respectively. Not sure what to do with those.
@@johnsyeats2044 Harope? Lol
Finally another puzzle video! I've missed these so much! Thank you for coming back to them! :D
Man I was starting to miss puzzle solving videos. Glad they are back for a second 👌
he just likes when they were more frequent.. u calm down
all of these vids are awesome... just and idea... i wish i had a video of the puzzle makers watching you work the puzzle. i bet their reactions would be a fantastic supplement
I love this channel, because although I can't afford most of the puzzles... I still get to enjoy seeing them solved.
😁❤️
I do believe if it wasn't 3D printed, that would've been a truly amazing puzzle.
There's a gem hidden in there, but the faultyness of these 3D puzzles (seen some of them have issues too many times now) held it back a bit.
The idea behind it was amazing, though.
That broken bit is basically how a safe combination lock works. Very simple but ingenious idea.
Edit: You could maybe still use it without an elastic band if you held it upwards to allow gravity to let the lever fall into the gates.
This might be my favorite mechanical puzzle I've seen on your channel - it's really thought out, unique and impressive how it all flows. It's a shame that the rubber band snapped tho - probably the only piece other than the lego man, that the creator had to order and trust over making it himself.
And the magnet in the key but i didn’t even think about that. That he literally made every piece but the rubber band and the magnet in the key! Just shows how good he is!!
Do you have a brother/relative named “Jerry”? (Husband of Sharon, father of Amy)
@@richardneubauer4469 Do you have a brother/relative named “Jerry”? (Husband of Sharon, father of Amy) (and Jerry would be the father-in-law to Chad Varner)
@@gruntopolouski5919 What kind of a funny random question is that? :D
@@momchilandonovnot really funny or random since the guy is obviously reading OPs name and thinks he may know him. Or did that thought simply fly over your head?
I think this was the most exciting yet frustrating puzzle I saw you do. You have an incredible patience.
I was ready to go to bed until I remembered about this video. Now I will not be able to sleep until the end. 😆 It always makes my night complete being able to watch you solve these, especially knowing I'll never have the patience to sit there like you do. I would have wanted to smash the box after the 1st problem.
Great job getting it all figured out. You are truly a master when it comes to problem solving!!
27:59 that's funny cause I also thought it was super ugly, but then around the middle of the video realized that I didnt think it was ugly anymore, since the once-clashing colors were now obviously grass and water and wood. Its interesting that you had the exact same flip in opinion :D
Great puzzle, great patience, great show keep it up 🇭🇲
Hi Chris,
On the Etsy page there is a photo of all the parts, including the pieces inside. Right in the centre is a wheel with 12 numbers including 0. I don't recall seeing you use that on the puzzle. Is there more to it?
Hey Chris love the puzzles and card tricks.
At first I thought ehh a 3d printed puzzle… but watching everything unfold I have to say what an amazing ingenious puzzle!
yeah, this felt better in terms of a $1000 puzzle, essentially feels like a classic adventure videogame. Has a small progression line that unlocks new areas to access, key items, and a hidden secret. Doesn't seem that hard to solve and could easily do with some improvements. Hopefully this isn't the only advenutre based puzzle they make.
As a toy designer, I feel like this is a very good, almost ready prototype. Use a spring instead of a rubber band, make Arthur click into the boat better, and have the cypher make more sense and it would be very close to a finished product. As is, it's clearly a lot of fun.
Needs work on tolerance
@@lo-firobotboy7112 cypher is red herring
@@shable1436 In my experience, 3D printed parts definitely need a lot of attention for clearances and tolerances.
These puzzles usually give me a calming effect, but holy anxiety. Bless your patience with this one 😅
So glad I don’t have such an expensive hobby! But I enjoy watching you go through the required thought processes
You called him a mad man and I'd have to agree. That puzzle is crazy with how much detail he put into it. Amazing work on both of You 😊
I liked the maze mechanism like he's going on the journey and I like the fact that the maze is the groove that he's in
Haven't seen your content in years. Glad I stumbled across it. Keep up the good work
Hi so for anyone wondering there is actually a meaning to those letters and numbers I looked at other videos and it seems that chris might have not received or not found a black wheel with numbers that is meant to go on the silver knob that he uses to open the door (the one where the elastic was broken) it is meant to fall out of the twistie part and you are meant to use the diagram with the letters and numbers to figure out the code. For anyone interested I will leave the video I found as a reply
so where is it 👀
Still waiting!!!
@Gabi yo where it at lol
Sooo where is the link ??
May we have the link to the video! This puzzle was awesome and would love to watch a another puzzle solver take their stab at the puzzle.
Imagine if that was made of some beautiful hard woods, or billet aluminum!
That is such an ingenious puzzle!! This is not a complaint by any means, only what I thought would make it take it to the next level!
Great job creator(s) and Chris!
I think it would have to be much larger and much much more expensive unfortunately. Plastic sucks to handle but the accuracy you can get is exponentially better
I was thinking that same thing. This puzzle in brass and rosewood would be classy AF.
I thought the same thing about build materials
Complete Madness! What a great (if slightly dodgy) puzzle.
Loved watching this one. Very Clever. The Green grows on you!
outstanding puzzle can't wait to see what this guy comes up with next.😃
Omg, after 10 mins of watching this, and knowing you'd been doing it for AN HOUR.. it's driving me crazy 🤪😂 I would have thrown it out the window!! 😂
Puzzle by Ikea. $300
@Latest Obsession actually because of the broken rubber band he had to brute force that one compartment.
I love the look tbh, super cool design!
Damn that’s cool! I love this one.
I love that it’s ugly. As opposed to all the understated puzzles that just look like ornaments on the shelf this would definitely stick out to guests and make them ask “what the Shrek is that ugly thing?”
I have watched this channel for I don't really know how long and always look forward to these very therapeutic relaxing Also fun my grandmother and my aunt are in the 80s and they love Chris Ramsey and they wanted me to ask the internet where your Red button and board for hot dang victory I told them I would write this internet lol thanks to all who put these together God be with you all 🙌
The puzzle design conceptually is awesome. I do feel that on a hardware perspective - from the neon green, falling off the boat, the Lego character that can come apart, the jarring spring releases, etc. - could be improved, maybe with more funding!
Love this type of puzzle.
Loved this puzzle box! Thanks bruh!
Very cool! Thanks for your time to take time out your day to show use puzzle. Sweet 😋 💜👌👍
Its the mind and skill of the people that make the puzzles that get me , then the mind of the mind of the person solving them astounds me
Absolute genius. If I had a grand to toss, I'd buy one. Price is fairly reasonable for the time it took to design & perfect, I would think.
The problem with these 3D printed puzzles is that they won't hold up over time especially if they see regular sunlight. Charging 1k for what amounts to $10-15 in plastic (not including minifig) because you're artificially generating rarity is weird to me. I get charging for r&d but why limit it to 99 when you can sell for $50-100 and build to order? Or even sell them as DIY kits?
Your intro's are not only 🔥but they are also becoming more and more inspiring - and considering you post weekly, that is amazing! 🤟
What an insane puzzle 🤯 (that was a really satisfying "POP" when Excalibur popped out) - props to the creator 👏👏👏
Your patience knows no bounds Chris - great puzzle, great solve 🤟
Cheers man 🙏🏻.
Every time Chris makes progress I get happy!
🎉😁🎉
That is wooooooow ! All paths, ice, boat ... So smart.
whenever I'm bored ang got nothing to do, I watch your videos ang i don't know why it really makes me feel relaxed.. keep it up bro. more puzzles to solve☝️☝️
Класный пазл, один из лучших, по моему мнению. Спасибо за видео. Я уже успел соскучиться по "решению головолоки". 🙂
Wonderful puzzle all around, I'm hoping that there will be a part 2 to clear up the mysteries that were not solved yet👍👍👍👍
There won't be as the coin wasn't a code as he thought he's just the 8th person to buy it
I like the fact that it's green. Knowing the blue part is supposed to be water, the green area is supposed to be land. It's like holding a little world in your hands.
Excalibur definitely my favourite. I love that puzzle especially it's RPG video game nature. Would be awesome as a legend of Zelda Link figure.
Well at least this 3D puzzle was not a total disappointment! Excellent design and slightly dangerous! so that makes it fun lol. Grass green could have been darker . Love your positive content Chris. thank u. hope to follow in your footsteps!
Just what I needed tonight!
I really liked this one. You went from disappointed at having to pry that panel off to total glee at all the bits and bobs you were finding and changing routes. Can we have more of these please?
Amazing design
This reminded me a small zelda adventure, with the grass and water, all the little puzzle to solve along the way using tools i get it that all these puzzle work like that, but just the fact of the little dude with grass and water riding on the boat, i just keot thinking of zelda the whole time, awesome puzzle!!
What a brilliant puzzle!
Wow, what an awesome puzzle!!
This is 100% my favorite puzzle you have ever solved.
Really enjoyed this one 👏🏽
The shop shows the pieces to make this puzzle and there is a black piece same size as the coin that has the numbers 0-11 on it.
Love your patience to keep him on the boat 😂 most would have just moved the boat without him on it and put him back wen going on land.
When he kept falling out, the voice in my brain went a little Silence of The Lambs, screaming, "put it in the fuxking boat*!"
*boat instead of basket 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
@@jenniferbutler6786 I forgot about this comment/video but keep getting the notification that you replied and the reminder cracks me up every time! 🤣🤣
This puzzle was amazing. Like wow
That was awesome to watch so satisfying
I like the jazzy music in the background! 🎹 👍
Gives me like a Zelda type vibes. So amazing.
indeed, I think that the three color scheme aside from the parts that have the "water effect" and logo are definitely a nod to old school action/adventure video games
Puzzle with jumpscares absolutely brilliant
7:35 I thought you were gonna try the ol Spin the Puzzle trick there
Edit: 10:49 - It's not "At least we know we don't have to do that" - It's more what you said in the beginning; A manufacturer defect. I don't fault you for this.
11:50 THE KNIGHTS JOURNEY COMMENCES
19:50 YOOOOOO PROGRESS IN THE BEST WAYYY
24:06 Phillip Black is someone we need to support so he can strengthen his materials to work with. This is so epic!
No way could this be tougher than that *_OTHER_* Excalibur puzzle...
Not harder, but much better. Puzzle where you need to try every combination is sucks
A bit different, but very entertaining! Thanks Chris!!
Year 937 marks the end of the British Battles in which King Arthur participated in 536.
Btw, just noticed that you are from here in Qc 🤘🏻
Keep it up! Love the videos and the puzzles!
Two Excalibur puzzles broken, two Excalibur puzzles solved.
Love it great puzzle .sweet 😋💜👍👌
That puzzle looked amazing, but also annoying to solve. Great video once again! 🔥
Thanks so much for doing another puzzle video! Really missed them. This was really fun to watch even with the broken rubber band. Good luck getting back together. ✌🇨🇦👍💯😀🧩🧩🃏♟🕹🎮🪄
Now that all 99 copies of it have been sold, he could just release the STLs so that anybody can join in on the fun and print their own! I'd happily pay for them, too.
It sounds like The Battle of Brunanburh was fought in 937 AD with King Aethelstan defending England who some believe was the true basis for the legend of King Arthur... Wow, learned a thing... Maybe that's what the 937 is for?
haha it was so fun watching you push that little man around the world
Great puzzle!
That was cool, to the designer - Keep it up :)
It needs a little bit of work, but 90% of is there. Nicely made puzzle.
Personally, i'd figure out a better shape for the track, using a truncated cone for the retaining pin will make it really difficult to move as it tapers and therefore sticks itself to the track. There's a reason CNC machine and milling T tracks are T shaped.
very involved puzzle a guided jourmey around the box. is the box opened completely or is there more?
If I was the puzzle maker, I would definitely take this advice to make even a better puzzle in the future. He definitely has the talent to eventually become a great puzzle creator.
Hot dang! So worth it's price
Chris: “I felt a small resistance to the force…”
Darth Vader: “Come to me, my son.”
You know when you hear your wake up alarm sound during the day? That's the same feeling I get when I hear the "yo what's up guys" at the start of almost every youtube video from every creator these days
decipher puzzle may be a part for the next puzzle
Neat idea, fun puzzle. I just wish it was better constructed
what a journey for the knight through the sword 😍
Ramsay the puzzle master!
Thats awesome! Puzzles are such a great way to use ypur brain
Every puzzle I’ve made the elastic is always the weak point. Should modify it with a spring instead
Yup. Elastic is perishable these days (cause it's the cheapo compound that uses less natural rubber). And if you're using a rubber piece in a 3D printed puzzle, you might just as well use the spring.
Especially since on the latch mechanism could use a strip of spring metal, which is extremely easy to implement.
The price vs quality certainly gives me pause (the elastic), but what a cool puzzle! I would just hope that at that price, there wouldn't be parts prone to failure.
It's just a shame puzzle creators don't understand the economies of scale! Mr black might sell more if they were cheaper and then he'd make more money over all!
@@KrazeeKraftZ They sold out at over $1000 (x99). He made plenty. :P
outside of that first little hickup. this puzzle is actually insane.
Lockpicking hobby person here. The numbers seem like they are the numerical stops required for the rotation safe lock to get out the lego guy: Numbers were 9 3 2 then do the following:
So 5 rotations right - resets the 3 dials internally. No 1# 4 rotations to the left & stop on 9. No 2# 3 rotations right and stop on 3. No 3# 2 rotations to the left and stop on 2. THEN - rotation right pulls the latch & opens the lock
932 being the locations on a clock to stop the dial at the 12 o'clock mark externally with relation to the dial (with 12 being where the dot was placed in the video)
bro i don't know if you will see this but your intros are better than most movies but i love all your videos man always keep it up
That puzzle box looks cool, like a ben 10 gadget😆
That's beautiful ❤️
19:00
A ring of pow-ah!!!!
Idk about the price, but it seems well built and I'd say the experience was worth it for Chris Ramsay. Sad about the rubber band. The cipher may be an extra, or an aid for another puzzle
