You could search the map you want to play in the community server browser if you don't want to spend all of 5 minutes watching a youtube video. There's a "workshop maps" tab in the main menu, there's a community server browser. Have you launched the game in the past 3 months? Are you kidding me?

I enjoyed it for 24 years. I wish you grew up to experience more of it. The game was so many heaps of fun, and now it's heaps of garbage that is on fire. At least, with previous iterations of cs, you could go to the community browser, and you could find a casual game with enough players on virtually any map you wanted. And for the longest time, there were admins with the ability to get rid of cheaters if they got enough evidence. It was quicker than VAC. More effective than VAC. Maybe some false bans, but that's about it. Anyone could appeal their ban to whomever banned them, and they would have a formal discussion about it, and why the admin felt like their actions were justified.

I remember...distinctively, that there were hundreds of maps that people liked to play during cs: source
These maps were reskins of very beloved cs 1.6 maps.
Some of these maps were briefly toured in csgo. Some were never given a shot, or ever made.
There's like, what, 10 competitive maps now? There should be the ability for everyone to download a map, and then pre-queue 5v5 for said map, so long as everyone has it downloaded.
At this point in the game, it's just devs that don't care. They already have made millions of dollars from the playerbase in just cases and skins, so the best thing to do would be to not play cs2, don't use the marketplace, and don't buy more items.
INCENTIVIZE Valve to release a new operation, new maps, and for the most important part, fixing their horrendous anticheat.
So sad how fast this game fell off, the more months past the more I lose hope that valve is just cooking a big update. Maybe if content creators and community figures acknowledged how shit this game has gotten something would change.

i have a few accounts i play on to get case drops, and it is so miserable seeing blatent cheaters not get vacceed. we're talking 100% headshot rate, dropping 30 bombs, prefiring and saying they "heard you step".. bro ive played cs for 11k hours and ive never seen people adjust and suddenly play so well after being shit on. I hate cheaters bro
I want Danger Zone back so much. I 100% prefer comp or premier most of the time, but Danger Zone was super fun to play when I wanted to play CS but not try hard my ass off in comp. Valve really needs to bring all of the features and gamemodes available in csgo to cs2. Even if it doesn't have a massive playerbase compared to the main comp or premier modes, variety is never a bad thing.
The only good thing about cs2 is the loading speeds.

It's very sad man. I played CS since 2007 and the state of cheating has never been this bad. Maybe it's because I was used to great matchups in CS GO, where I honestly would only be paired with very friendly players, on both teams, but now it's impossible to play. Every single game there are cheaters on both teams, and presumably one side is cheating because they say the other side is cheating, and it turns into a hack vs hack on premiere.... In GO, maybe it was trustfactor, maybe something else, but I was fortunate enough to never really see cheaters in MM.
Aaaand now it's just sad... I don't want to start a match because I already know there will be blatant cheats involved. I'd understand if it was really hard to detect cheaters who use very unintrusive cheats and ways of gaining advantage, but what I'm experiencing in CS 2 is just hack versus hack where people are fucking killing each other with scouts, through 100 walls, from spawn, how valve cannot stop that? fuck knows.
My kid played some wingman just to get his drop. He was the only player not spin botting in a 4 player lobby.

At this point I’ve turned to TF2. Even tho there are bots, you can easily find full servers of actual people having fun. Highly recommended

The game runs like it’s 100hz they need to fix the frame timing issues. If they fixed that and added content like you said then the game is golden. Just needs a real anti cheat…
interesting view, but i think that the game and especially the market won't crash in the near future. If you watch the games history, you can see that it was the exact same thing with the release of csgo and that it actually took way longer for the game to recover. cs2 is dead to me. i used to be global in MM and lvl 8 faceit. on cs2 i cannot win a single match. every enemy i come across just instandly headshots me. they are running, jumping, crouching. it doesnt matter, they just headshot me whilst spraying. i dont know if its the 64 subtick system, server delay, whatever. it just doesnt feel right. on csgo i could make frags. on cs2 i cannot win any encounter and people just spray and get headshots whilst running around corners.
please bring back old CS:GO
Yes and no, all we need is half decent anticheat (dont know hoe the fk in 2023/2024 game doesnt have half decent anticheat) and give every single map from csgo back, and the older ones like coble, we will get them one day but it will be too late to stabilize playerbase it has lost already
Encountered Aim/WH duo on wingman. Both 1000+ hours in CS. They even admitted to cheating for the purpose of getting a rank and selling the account. State of this game is absolutely disgusting. In CS:GO I’ve seen maybe 6-7 cheaters in the span of 6 years (with prime).

CS is dying so fast it's kind of sad.
The problem with danger zone was the equipment control scheme, especially the "boost jump" leg upgrade things. I need to b-hop with scroll-wheel, so I can't "hold down jump" (at all) without completely rebinding my keys, which means I can't use the most important movement upgrade ability in danger zone. The ranking system also made no sense, and you could derank on a 1st place win. I played it a lot when it came out, but once the meta started to become based around the movement upgrade equipment, I lost interest because I already had re-learned my movement to scroll wheel jumps for b-hops, and I wasn't going to change it back just to play danger zone.

Funny when children that didn't even play 1.5 Talk.. They probably didn't even play CSGO from the beginning, CSGO also had a lot of problems in the start.
I got cs source a few months before CSGO came out, when CSGO released we had $900 kill reward p90 meta and the map fog from Arms Race maps was on every map. The average game mode most people played wasn't 5v5, it was 10v10 or 20v20 or 32v32 community servers. Operation Payback wasn't even released until spring of 2013 (about 6 months after release) and none of the maps were competitively viable, they were all designed around casual play.
Played for decades, all the way from 1.3, yes I am that old. The issues that CSGO had, in the beginning, were not that big problems, the issues came from players who didn't want to adjust to the new game, they already did it with source, so they tried again with CSGO, but the issues were mostly the sound, bobbing, movement, overhauled maps that were clearly intended for playing on consoles, very narrow and tight quarters, and bad performance optimization, so every potato pc that could run 1.6 had issues with CS:GO, source players not so. at the release of CSGO, You could immediately host your own server. So matches could be played against other mixers as we already were used to in 1.6 and source. Rarely that a cheater among them, first they improved the movement, sounds, and bobbing also some guns and maps were overhauled, that was the "improvement" and mind you this took about 1.5/2 years after that THEY started adding things such as the steam community, skins, achievements, badges(also removed some), not a direct improvement but just expanding their core to be more sustainable. The way the game CS2 was released in its entity with missing game modes is just a damn shame tbh, a missed opportunity. Especially if you know that the CS Dev team only visited once or twice in the past 10 years of CSGO. All their attention goes to Gaben's favorite game. Dota.
Hey, come on, I liked 1.5....for the knife. That's all, but that's fine. It was the first version of cs I remember playing...but then I also remember 1.6 coming out just months later. It was 1999 when I first played it, and I remember distinctly, playing matches pre 1.6. It wasn't bad, but everyone was looking for an update to the game.
I used to play CS:GO 5-6hours every day. Now i play CS2 only for the weekly drop becouse of too many cheaters
I cant even bother for the weekly drop, csgo was fun with friends, drink a few cold ones, get lobby goin in teamspeak amd que all maps, now all my favourite maps simply dont exist, I used to play cs daily for hours too, now I havent played cs for a month I think

Danger Zone was fun. I played it like every 2-3 weeks for a few hours. But actually it's 1. VAC, 2. bugfixes, 3. new content, 4. old content and 5. skinshit in this order.

I deleted the game off my pc in november and nothing has changed since then, there are more cheaters than ever and no new content and many crucial commands are still missing.
no one ever brings up that they need to fix their shitty ranked system. Both ranked and premier are awful in their own ways and 100% need fixing
Their ranking system kind of doesn't make sense, but I do like the points-based system of calculating someone's performance. I don't agree with how it was taking away tons of points all at once on a small loss, or that you wouldn't gain as many points as you should have off that last win.
They need to ban all the cheaters, put up a paywall (everyone that is legit has this game already, anyway), and then reset the ranking system. Hardware lock out cheaters. Get a storage area the size of a bitcoin mining farm as a supercomputer to detect cheaters.
There is nothing stopping Valve, or any developer, from setting a price point for a game as upwards of $50,000-$100,000 on Steam. It's not illegal.

Arms race was not that good because it was way worse than it was in CSS. It is IMO by far the best gamemode when done right, fun wise. gg_simpsons and so on, just plain good old fun. Hope they bring it back like it was, and still is kind of in CSS.

Dangerzone has 3 core issues:
1) Poorly optimized. I used to get 80fps in dz and 200fps in mm.
2) Way too many cheaters.
3) It doen't fit the core cs formula therefore even according to Ohne's poll 25% of the playerbase never tried it.
Danger Zone should not try to be a cheap copy of other battle-royale games, there are ways to make it unique and fun to CS players, unfortunately it is an afterthought for Valve, just like other modes.
F.e. combine DZ with zombies, aka left 4 dead, pvpve.

The reason Danger Zone didn't pop off is the same reason PUBG died , H1 dies, and Fortnite, Apex and warzone came up.
CS2 doesn't support movement which you need in a battle royale.
What they need to do is rebrand Danger zone but incorporate some of the advanced movement from a really really old mod called Action Half life.
The games i mentioned as pretty much dominating the BR scene today All have movement and advanced movement as a core gameplay mechanic , just as core as shooting and rotating around the circle. When you don't have movement a BR is not fun. Very low TTK is also not fun. Valo and CS will never have successful BRs unless the BR plays entirely different then the core game and at that point its not longer the game's BR because you can't really take your experience from that game and bring it into the BR.

The actual problem is that CS2 is just a more demanding game on systems. I've been through several computers during my time playing CSGO, I never got below 40 fps. Even with my shittiest setup. My current PC was getting 60+ fps before, but in CS2 I get 10 fps. It's just not accessible.
Brother, there is no reality where you're getting "10 fps" lol. My old laptop from 2014 gets 40-50 fps on cs2, and that was before I got my current desktop, so literally right when the game came out and was least optimized. It had a 960m gpu in it and an old i5. You'd have to be playing on a literal PC from the 90s to not be able to run cs2. It's not that bad.

Danger Zone had 2 issues.
1. DZ was cool if you sucked at battle royales but you are willing to try it for the first time if it had CS mechanics. Once you try it you'll realize you either enjoyed the concept and realize Apex Legends does it way better, or you kinda liked it and might play it again because you're too scared to try better games in that genre, or you hated it and moved on. The only people who still play are those who kinda like the concept and since most people are on either extreme, you won't have many playing it.
2. Cheaters are the other issue. You don't want to play a game where you invest all that time in a single match to end up 1v1 a cheater for a loss. At least in casual or premier you have short rounds that you either win or lose and you get to keep trying.
Fuck all the other points just bring out a anti cheat whitch is finally good so i dont have to unistall and install this trash game after every faceit match
