Would have never been an issue if Valorant was never hyped up to be the “CS killer.” Then you have the Valorant stans just constantly saying that cs is a dead game because shroud has been saying it since 2017 and csgo fans clap back by saying anime CSGO is bad. And the cycle repeats.
Could care less about Valorant really. Game was super fun when it came out but fell off and I ended up back at CS. My main issue with Valorant is the community. And for whatever reason Valorant players act like Valorant was the first to do anything.

CS2's gamemodes rn are so limited. I wish we had team deathmatch, a "spike rush" like gamemode in CS2 instead of the 10v10 casual, and the community servers again. I am still not great at CS2, so I wish these gamemodes existed so I can get a better feel for the game. Deathmatch I can't really learn how to 1v1 cause I get shot in the back when I spawn. Thing about casual is enemies hold the most obvious (Strong) angles to compensate for their lower skill level. Thats perfect for practice entry fragging and fighting since there is peekers advantage. Valorant AC works well, as it runs in kernel-level. But then again, if you make your own cheat start before the actual anticheat starts (launching it right at boot in kernel), the cheat can be fairly undetected. Regarding the tickrates, as someone who had 8k hours in csgo and now starting Valorant (600 hours so far) the hit reg in valorant is at least 20x better than it is in cs.
When you aim somewhere you hit 99% of the time. So you just have to git gut....
Since cs2 I decided to come back to it, and honestly, it feels horrible. It is one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had in a shooter.
Cheaters are nowhere in valorant. In all of the games I have played, I have met a SINGLE cheater. And a handful of suspicious people.
Like they shoot to smokes just a little too much, but we all know it's possible to just know your angles.
For the statistics, I find it kind of funny how you said "In csgo the community does it" as if it's a good thing Valve releases a game and then lets everyone else fix it for them.
I've spend years on cs servers and faceit servers. And I have always had issues with how little Valve actually does for us. You can't even check your average KD and stuff in cs. It's just painful to see that shit in one of the biggest esports.
Guns in csgo are btter because it's real guns. That's honestly it. Everyone who keeps saying there is no spray pattern in valorant is lying. There is a base pattern that is being followed, but you bullets may deviate a little. you always have the same pattern, but you just have to "get lucky" with bullet placements. This makes the game a lot more difficult and combine that with the tickrate and lack of cheaters, and you have better gunplay in valorant....
And lastly, I really like how you tried to be as non-biased as possible. I really think 99% of the cs players don't want to play valorant, because they are scared they'll enjoy it or scared they won't be perma top score anymore. Which was honestly one of the reasons I didn't want to touch valorant for a long time.
Once I decided to quit csgo because of the horrible community, I launced valorant and was met with nice people who actually trying to help me out as a starter.
While it's human nature to compare alternatives I highly recommend jumping into Valorant and dropping the bitchboy bias the twitch chat has. If you look at Valorant as a standalone game, and not a copy of CSGO. The only reason people even call it a copy, is because it's a 5v5 shooter with a bomb.

I do want to say that Valorant has a pretty good record of banning most cheaters before they hit high elo, but in lower elo you'll hit cheaters slightly more than 2/500 games. It takes the anti-cheat some time to identify cheaters, and even when they're identified they don't get banned right away, Riot tries to get them in waves so its harder for devs to identify what got their cheats penalized.
If you grind your way to higher elo games, though, cheaters are quite rare I agree, its difficult for a cheater to climb that high without attracting lots of scrutiny.
Also I want to add that because of inconsistent gun spray patterns, its a lot harder for cheaters to spinbot in valorant because holding down the trigger gives you random spread that the aimbot can't predict. Cheaters in Valorant have to tap fire, and will miss occasionally.

In Valorant, it's so hard to spectate in the first place (I tried spectating multiple custom games) because there's so much happening and because movement is not as predictable as in CS (Some agents can fly into sites and instakill someone) whereas in CS, you can swap your spectate once you see signs of an execute. Sometimes Valorant looks like a "swap pov" nightmare of flying abilities with some gunplay in between POV swaps and exploding abilities.

@DigiHydro Yea cs is easier to watch for me as well, but val is more interesting because there's so much more to consider in the strategy every round. And even when teams mirror match comps they way they play those agents might be totally different depending on their strategy. So I tend to watch val way more than cs.

Valorant is extremely boring to watch for me. Same shit every game and there’s no excitement. The commentators are just not it either. Just seems like pro play in Valorant is just a mess and scene is terribly ran by Riot. Definitely a game I rather play than watch. For cs I can Watch or play it but with the current state of cs2 I just rather not play the game anymore unfortunately.

Re skins, the Steam marketplace is genius, whereas Valorant only sells skins B2C... but, with the exception of the various knives, the CS skins are basically a coat of paint. The Valorant skins change the shape, animations, and behavior of the guns (although not in a way that would impact the outcome of a game). I think that aspect is worth considering.

Val got rid of trio and 4 stack in immortal because it's been a big problem of the trio and 4 stack not communicating to the random(s) on their team. Also, a 5 stack can play against a 5 stack or a 3+2
Also, for the skins section, I really think that it should be 2 categories: aesthetics and value. Valorant skins imo are much better aesthetically because of the unique sounds, passive effects, and some having finisher animations. However, CS skins are better in the value department because they aren't as expensive (technically) and you can actually get your money back from them.
Then for community servers, why is it even a category when Valorant literally doesn't even have it? It just seems like he's trying to get CS points where they are the only game with the category integrated. Cheap category that shouldn't be there.

In CS a skin can cost thousands of euros even though it's not worth nearly that much, simply because of those stupid boxes you have to open. So if you're lucky you'll get a skin cheaply and if you're unlucky you won't get a skin at all.

I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, RX 6700 XT GPU, and 16GB 3200 DDR4 RAM and I can't push the game beyond 100-144fps on a 4:3 aspect with the settings all set to low-mid. This really does seem to be an issue with CS2 because when I play OW2 or any other E-Sport title I get the frames that I'm expecting (around the 200-300 FPS range). So I very much hope that they will fix these issues soon because the game isn't really that fun when it's constantly dropping frames especially when you have a system like min that's not ultra overpowered but should be easily getting 200 or even 300+ FPS in CS.

I think one of the big things that people don't understand (especially valorant kids) is that a lot of cs players love cs because of the rawness of the game and the consistency. IMO having a meta that doesn't evolve like valorant pushes cs players to use their brain more and more and increase their skill, instead of just trying to recognize when the meta changes and hopping on before other people. that is the overarching idea, I love counter-strike because it is extremely difficult but it is consistent and that makes it extremely rewarding. Even when I grinded valorant with my friends in 2020, I never felt anywhere close to as rewarded as I felt playing cs. Abilities, the fact that there is no skill to movement, random sprays, all of these things make the game less rewarding when you know it is more luck based. IMO I would honestly give the meta point to CS from the perspective of valuing the way cs pushes a players skill over just playing off of how the devs balance abilities and weapons. This is just my perspective as a CS player and I dont want disregard the fact that valorant clearly has a meta that changes and CS does not.

I have 4k hours in CSGO. With the launch of CS2 I was expecting the AC to be fixed.
I tried the game during the closed beta and it was alright. After the full release I started to encounter cheaters by the truckload.
I haven't played CS2 since January and what broke me was the fact I was playing a wingman match with a friend after work to unwind and a guy fucking rage spinbotted not to lose a god damn wingman match.

one of the biggest issues i actually noticed while playing valorant is that there are too many abilities and agents, Yea of course its causing for more meta changes and strategies being changed, but its so incredibly painful playing against a stun and flash heavy team it actually sometimes make me want to kms. I think valorant is a more strategic game vs csgo being a mechanic heavy game (aim, movement shit like that)

the thing tho with Valorant with the abilities and agents, half of the agents have the same abilities as others but just in different forms (flashes on phoenix, skye, breach, yoru, etc. for example) and in CS, EVERYBODY can have a flash EVERY round if they want

As the other guy said, many of the abilities have the same concept. Everything falls in the same categories, they look different but perform the same function.
And after a while you get used to every ability and understanding them/ countering them becomes second-hand knowledge. For a new player it can be intimidating but it gets much simpler with time.

Skins and Esports absolutely without a doubt go to CS. The rest is pretty valid, toxicity is debatable but any competitive gaming community will be ridiculously toxic.

I think community goes to CS. The guy only points out how the cs community is toxic and that's why it's worse, but I disagree. I think the CS community, although toxic at time, has way more flavor. I mean just compare CS content creators to Valorant content creators there are so many legends. Content creators are representatives of the community and the fact that there are so many more entertaining ones in the CS community is enough for me to say CS has a better community than Valorant.

@@shigarumo2263 I disagree, a paint job over a gun shouldn't be considered a "skin" or should be sold at just ridiculous prices because it was difficult to get. CS has negatively impacted the minds of so many people because they gamble with loot boxes hoping to either get a useable skin or get a really rare skin so they can make profit. It becomes less about actually playing the game and becomes more so about just buying and selling skins, which shouldn't be what games should be. If you want to gamble, go to a casino in Las Vegas. Every time I see this debate come up, it just disappoints me more because people have been wired that way because of all the gambling to think that somehow it's good. I can't argue Valorant does it any better because skins are overpriced at times, but i prefer that over CS because it has no gambling in it.

correct me if i'm wrong but the Valorant ranking system doesn't let people 3-4 que because they don't want 3 people to throw and surrender and you can only surrender if you have over half the team agreeing.
