That's one of my biggest fears is having a fire start when I'm not home or asleep, but thankfully laws in California for new builds require every home to have a fire suppression system, I know if there ever is a fire everything I own will be covered in a red fire retardant but I'm sure I'll have a home to still call a home.

I got hit by a car in 2001 while riding my bicycle.
I was on my way to class at a college. I was riding in a crosswalk. The lady who hit me either didn’t see me or got impatient.
She was very apologetic. She gave me and my mangled bike a ride to class.
I was left with just a sprained ankle. The kicker: this was the Thursday before 9/11. What I endured was nothing compared to what happened 5 days later.
I pray that you have recovered or are recovering from your ordeal.

Hey Austin! I am a recent graduate in computer science that used to (and still) watch your videos all the way back in middle school. Its funny to think that I would still be watching you 10 years and more after I found you. I want to thank you for all the time you put into your videos, believe it or not my house burned down the same year that yours did and although I was 13 or so , it is crazy to look back and see that I saw the same situation in you. OFC, I was not an actual adult and worrying about things in that way, but it was reassuring to see people like you go through the same things that I was, that it was a thing a happened to people and they could survive with it.

I really enjoy these kind of introspective videos we’re getting here and elsewhere. I think it really helps to take the sting out of the changes we’re experiencing and helps put things in perspective. Like they say “when one door closes, another opens.” We’re heading down a slightly different path now. There will be some positives and some negatives. We’re all in it together experiencing the changes together hoping they bring more positives than negatives.

I started watching your videos back in 2012-2013 in passion of tech and appreciation of nerdiness and saw that video as posted in 2014 January. Wondered what happens to you and the future ahead. I am glad you have great company and friends you work with is wonderful over the years. I love your videos and support you along the way! Caleb- central Illinois.

Hey Austin, it is actually refreshing to see a video as personal and honest as this. It definitely is important to look back every once and a while to feel thankful and to look ahead at what’s to come with new eyes. To remember how human the people we follow are only makes the experience better. I admire your work, how much you have evolved and the maturity you are showing on this piece. Keep it up, and trust me, the people who follow you through all these years don’t mind the changes, and in fact we appreciate your growth and how much you and your channel has changed

I come to this channel every week or two to marathon vids. I love this content.
Thanks for evolving, for pouring your heart to your fans. It helps me realize the people I follow are grounded and thankful.

I just want to say when I started watching it was 2017, I was 11-12 years old, loved tech and didn't know what I was doing. I hadn't even built my PC yet. I'm now a first year engineeirng student who still loves tech, and knows slightly more about what I'm doing haha! It's crazy how much can happen in such a span of time. Thanks to your videos I was able to find my own path in what I wanted to do, so thank you!

It’s so crazy it’s been that long, I didn’t even realize until now that Austin was one of the biggest parts of my child hood. I felt your grief when I watched the original video as a kid and I prayed that you got everything back in order for yourself and for the ones that loved to watch what you do such as myself. It’s been a long journey and you’ve made the most out of it. Good work Austin, you inspire me. ❤

I watched you before the house burn video and i was shocked to see it when it did come out.. even more shocked was to see you be really positive about it, at least on the video, you smiled, laughed, found humour in how certain things didnt burn down while some things got destroyed.. and you thought me something that i've carried all my life after that, its something you said a few videos after that, basically your idea was that you can't feel regret or anything, I've really taken that positivity with me since then and still today.

Austin, I'm just now getting around to watching this, but thanks for publishing this. I've been watching you for many years (prior to the fire). You had your fire exactly four months after my family had our fire when I was in high school. We also lost everything in our house in our incident. I'll never forget watching your video and feeling so upset - I never wanted anyone else to experience the same situation I had just gone through.
You mentioned thinking about things in a "before fire" and "after fire" timeline, and I think the same way. It's very interesting. It really taught me how fleeting life is, and how important it is to frankly just LIVE and enjoy each day.
Thanks for doing what you do.

I remember that day, I was following your channel since December 2013 (I checked that to be more accurate) and then that happened a month later, I felt so sad, but I was happy that you and your family were ok, then I felt moved when all the people from other tech channels were trying to help, I had watery eyes then and now when you mentioned it, bro I'm so happy for you, you openned your heart and you look so grateful for everything, you have a team, a family and so many people that really appreciate what you're doing (included me and the other subscribers) thank you for making this video, is a good example for those that feel down and see no escape, even when everything is burned down to ashes, we can always come back stronger than before and do more than before, this video was great and made my eyes watery again when you started to mentioned everything that you appreciate, keep the good work and content, after 10 years I'll continue watching your videos and supporting your channels, blessings bro.

Hey Austin, this comment will probably get buried but I have to say this video made me cry too.
I remember in 2014 I was transitioning into high school and suffered from major depression and was suicidal. I would binge watch both you and Linus almost every single day after school. Seeing the highlander collab. I was getting into videography at the time and needed a PC desperately to edit videos on I saw your budget PC under 300 video. I used all the money I had saved up to build that PC. Lol AMD althlon days.
Fast forward 10 years later I know run a media production company with a full team when was able to be a part of the video team for Linus Media group on LTT expo 2024.
I guess my point thank you. Hadn't been for you i probably would've never built that PC and end up where I am now.
Have always supported you and will always support your videos. Till the end my friend.

    I needed this.
I remember watching the fire video very shortly after it happened to you and feeling so gutted for you.
I remember watching the video of everyone coming together to get you back up and running because we couldn't lose such a huge part of the community.
I remember seeing you cry and then pick yourself back up. You got even better at CZcams!
A lot has happened in the last 10 years and I want to thank you for this raw, real and human video. It has helped me reflect on the time that's passed. Seeing how well you have done and how humble you still are makes me happy the everything unfolded the way it did for you. I know you see the positive in what I mean there.
These last 10 years have damaged me in a lot of ways but I've still had happy times. I'm at my worst I have ever been in my life in the last year. I'm picking myself back up right now and really needed to hear what you just said.
I will enjoy and appreciate every day ❤

Normally I never post comments and if I do it’s extremely rare; however, I feel this is the one exception. I think I’ve been subbed to the channel for about 5 or 6 years now and it was your videos that helped me build a pc. It was your videos that made me more excited about things. When I saw new leaks of certain stuff, my mind always went “I wonder if Austin will cover this?” Then a few hours or days later, boom, video comes out of exactly what I thought on this channel or This is. I will also say, watching the channel also helped me out of a bad spot. Thanks for being here on CZcams. That’s all I wanted to say. Though I do miss the “Hey guys this is Austin.” I sure do hope you’ll bring that back once a year. It’s something I’m always looking forward to. Thanks again for helping a guy out and being here.
