Alex has just confirmed he's never been outside by saying "there's no 30m slopes next to jungle terrain"
there can also be 100m drop sheer cliffs in the jungle lol
I haven't even been to a jungle to know that there's going to be sometimes 30m slopes in jundle terrain. Any walk in the local woods and forest will suffice to know that.
Seems like a really weird point to bring up, especially considering there's no jungles AT ALL in the Soviet Union - it was just confected by Kojima because he simply wanted a game set in the jungle lol
@@squidworx you are just straight up wrong my guy
Yes, the former Soviet Union, which was known as the U.S.S.R. from 1946 to 1991, has temperate rainforests in several areas, including:
Southern Siberian rainforest
This 2,300 square mile temperate rainforest is located in South Central Siberia, along the Altai and Sayan mountain ranges, and in the Khamar-Daban Mountains near Lake Baikal.
Far East
Temperate rainforests are found along the shores of Lake Baikal, as well as on the Black Sea, Caspian, and Okhotsk coasts.
Taiga
The Russian taiga is almost double the size of the Amazon rainforest, covering more than 12 million square kilometers.
@@Rogue-76 Oops, my bad. Guess the internet misinformed me. Hey at least I learnt something new today :)
Tbh, a 1:1 copy of the original game is exactly what I want.
That’s not really what this is just to be clear. New moves, mechanics and gameplay changes.
Considering that Konami's last effort with Metal Gear was Metal Gear Survive, this is the absolute best we could possibly hope for from them. I'll gladly take a simple, shiny update of MGS3.
Day one purchase.
But they did change the animations in the remake, two in particular.
In the original game when hiding behind cover, snake presses himself flat with his back to the cover, in the remake he leans with his shoulder against it, which feels more natural to be.
Also, the crawling backwards animation is new, I don't think you can do that in the original.
They actually brought some mechanics and controls from mgs5 like the wall hugging, crawling backwards and over the shoulder aiming from third person which wasnt in original game. This is mostly quality of live improvements and modernized controls basically but everything else is pretty much 1:1 remake. The cutscenes are pretty much exactly same and gameplay will be the same as well but with better controls and quality of life improvements.
I like that they had the interview with David Hayter and Okamura later that day to attempt to at least massage fears a bit that Konami just gave Metal Gear to a bunch of suits and that basically no one from the Kojima era was left at the company. This could be a team of mostly newer people like the REmakes but I think it was important to at least highlight that people who were there during Metal Gear in its prime didn't necessarily jump ship and it sort of gave the game a bit of an honest aura around it that I wasn't really expecting at all especially based on the other ways they've addressed the press as a non-descript "development team"
I also did not expect them to incorporate the overhead view and fixed camera from vanilla MGS3 as an option at all. That's actually really cool that they went that far.
The lack of filter and The Boss' face were my only gripes, everything else was perfect. I love how they kept the voices and reused cutscenes, and have an optional legacy camera. I since found out the green filter will be optional in game too. As for The Boss, her pachinko version looked more accurate so maybe theyll adjust her before release.
You can toggle the green filter on or off
@@alexthegamecat I know i said that in my comment lol
It is highly unlikely that they’ll change the Boss’s face st this point
Yeah the boss' face seems really off for some reason, especially when they nailed Snake's appearance.
My only gripe is with the cutscenes. The originals used very tight lenses (FOV) and almost no depth of field due to hardware limitations. Delta is using veeeery wide FOV in its cutscenes (everything looks like a 30-24mm lens) and of course depth of field, and the result is that everything looks a little bit like a default UE5 camera plonked into a rebuilt Snake Eater environment. We'll have to see once it comes out.
OK now I know John is a HipHop head. Imagine him almost quoting Q-Tip in this video @1:10 😅
the animations aged like fine wine
Kojima games age really well, especially since Sons of Liberty
Snatcher, Policenauts and Metal Gear Solid have all aged remarkably well. MGS in particular holds up great because it's a blast to play and the voice acting is choice.
I wonder if we will be able to use the Subsistence 3D camera in "Legacy Mode" or if the yellow filter will be locked to the original MGS3 top-down perspective.
I love the "warm" look of that game. It feels very autumnal, and there's something very cozy about it, but I love using the Subsistence 3D camera and being able to press R3 to switch to the original camera, just to orient myself. The original camera is the best tool the game gives you to know which way North is, but I don't want to be stuck in that view because it isn't the best way to play that game.
If you can change your camouflage pattern at the press of a button, rather than having to go into the pause menu......would probably be game breaking lol
Why? It has the exact same gameplay effect, just without the added delay of having to through a menu.
@@RD-dt7us For some reason, I remember about 40% of my time playing the classic MGS3 was staring at the camoflauge menu and finding whichever camoflauge was the most efficient. IE: Crawl like 5 meters, watch the camoflauge index drop like an anchor in a pool, open the menu, and then navigate until you find the most efficient camoflauge and select it. It would be nice if they offered the functionality to equip the most effective camoflauge at the press of a button, but that would remove a significant part of the original MGS3 I think. LOL
@@andrewlu4462LOL LOL LOL LOLOLOLOL
As they have already confirmed modern control options all I really want changed is streamlined menus with less button pushes. For example pausing and then having hotkeys to get to camo or cure etc would be better than a list. Having a single button press for using the required items to Cure, would be better as long as you have all the materials (it could show what is needed and how many you have at a glance on the cure menu). Camo could also have ‘optimise all’, ‘head’ and ‘uniform’ hot keys. Weapons and backpack could also be sped up with hotkeys for ‘equip’ and ‘remove’ etc.
From what we've seen so far it looks like a really premium remake like say RE2 & RE4 remakes. But unlike those remakes they've kept all the original content and voice work & mocap data which imo is exactly what most fans want a remake to be. Super excited for it! Definitely a day one cop.
This game alone is why I'll be getting a PS5/Pro. This series is one of my favs. The first ever sneak peak of this game gave me chills. Im not much for remakes but these games need to be done. Especially MGS1
why not pc
@@agamaz5650 I never got into pc. I was always a console guy.
lol just get a PS5 that’s more than enough power to play the game.
It will be on xbox too.
@Marko-ij4vy yuck! Lol never was a fan of xbox but glad it is so more ppl can play it
Looks really good so far, even though the boss now looks like Layne Staley circa 1992.
💀😂
This is the kind of treatment we were expecting Konami take on Silent Hill, but no, they had to follow the path of Resident Evil or even worst... I'm just relief that at least MGS will have this kind of treatment after all the harm Konami have caused through it's history...
Would love mgs1 and mgs4 updated with modern graphics
If this does well i wonder what Konami would remake next. If they go chronologically Portable Ops would be next which has some really fun character abilities and stats. Or Peace Walker, the problem with these two games is the levels feel too small to be made into a full on console game (PW’s areas could maybe be linked and ditch the episodic style). Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are fine as they are. Then the MSX games would basically be like starting from scratch with just the scenarios and basic story already in place. I’d like to see Portable Ops and Peace Walker just made more available in the next Master Collection Volume (with MGS4) then get a MG and MG2:SS complete remake as one game. Then get a MGS1 remake with a Gray Fox side story followed by a MGS2 remake.
Am I the only one that like the animations?😏😏😛😛
same
The animations show to me that the gameplay will be as snappy as the original.
@@skycloud4802 I know right its so tactical and awesome, to this day I have MGS5 with over 100 mods. Its my best military game ever
This is looking pretty good so far. Not perfect. There’s something that still feels a bit odd, but I’m interested in how this turns out.
I just wish Konami took the same approach with the Silent Hill 2 remake instead of chasing RE sales.
This an silent hill 2 remake are my most anticipated remakes😅
Next gen enemy AI is still the Elephant in the room here.
Will this reach that Mr.X type of moment in next gen is still yet to be seen.
It will jst be a remaster without that AI jump.
I honestly despised MGS3 initially due to the locked camera angles, especially when it constantly led to me triggering an alert from a guard spotting me off screen. (MGS2 was my 1st Metal Gear and the locked camera angles there weren't nearly as problematic since 2 was set in clean, urban environments) I like MGS3 now but only since playing the subsistance version (in the HD Collection by Bluepoint) where I could play it with an actual controllable camera to survey the area ahead.
I hope the nightmare level is still there. Not because it was a great game, but because all the quirky easter eggs should remain intact, and some of the conversations you could have on codec after the nightmare were fucking hilarious. Especially with SIGINT
I can't believe I played that game 3 times on the PS2 and never encountered that Easter egg part.
Outside of the cutscenes, it looks like a totally new animation system to me, closer to 5 than 3. Overall, I think it needed stronger art direction to put all the added fidelity to better use. MGS has always had a sense of style and direction, and this doesn’t.
Needs the ambiance
We need a term for this style of remakes. I would call it a graphic remake. You know, the graphics and sound are new, control maybe modernized, but game play, cutscene sequences, level design and interfaces are mostly retained. Examples include shadow of the colossus, Metroid prime, and this. Re2-4 and ff7 are not.
Its simply a 1:1 remake. Same as the original game but with better graphics and some quality of live improvements and better controls. While RE2-4 and FF7 remakes are not 1:1 remakes as there are some changes. Some changes arent always better(like im not a fan of some story changes in FF7 remake although others are welcome). 1:1 Remakes are usually "safer" because at least they wont ruin them with changes people wouldnt like.
Im cautiously optimistic
I don't know man. To me it really looks like one of those yt videos "X game remaster".
My body is so ready for this game :)
Dachs brother, do a Major Zero cosplay
I was hoping for MGSV gameplay/mission design with MGS3 story.
Like Ground Zeroes but multiple missions/environments
Isn't that basically what this remake is tho? It's MGS3 with MGSV gameplay (with a few tweaks and changes of course)
@@fire-typhoon123 is it? From what I read and seen it seems like it's more closely made to resemble the original.
MGSV animations and combat was a lot more smooth/natural in that regard
@@Potato_n_Tomatoliterally no. If you look at the CQC animations they’re nearly identical to MGSV, especially the “spit it out” knife to the neck hostage scenario in the latest Delta showing.
And MGSV was open world/hub so it would completely break MGS3 remake to be this way. I LOVE MGSV but no, I’d rather have MGS3 structure with a mix of similar animations and gameplay to MGSV/GZ, which is what this latest trailer looks to be.
I watched the trailer for Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta Remake and have mixed feelings. Although it's not my dream remake on par with the RE4 Remake, it's not bad either. The Unreal 5 engine does its job - the graphics are phenomenal. However, the character animations seem slightly upgraded compared to MGS5, which contrasts sharply with the overall presentation. There's a lack of expanded locations and new mechanics, which is a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, the Close Quarter Combat looks more elaborate and cinematic, which is a big plus.
In summary, while the remake doesn't meet all my expectations, it has its strong points that can attract both new players and veterans of the series. I am eagerly anticipating this refresh, as in my personal ranking, it's the best video game ever.
I feel like Konami is treating this game similar to what Capcom has been doing with the RE Engine remakes of the Resident Evil gams. Hopefully Konami continues and does the other games. I also hope they do a remake for Zone of the Enders 1 and 2.
*OLIVER!!* 🤗😊
Im hyped 👌
UE5 would probably be an easy job for Bend Studio. Let's be real Day's Gone look exceptional!
I agree, Days Gone is the only open world U4 game that runs absolutely perfect with no traversal, loading or shader stutter. No other studio managed to do that on U4. Bend are the GOATS!
@@AdiiS Batman Arkham Knight was first, but with little nature simulation if I'm not mistaken. Looks good as well!
Wonder how Alex will feel about the button prompt saying press R1when Snake meets Eva. Probably not too modern audience enough for him
Performance really worries me. Also df should take a look at tdu solar crown demo. It's a performance nightmare as well.
Also the piss filter is back!
Alex, it's Konami that makes MGS, not Capcom.
We didn’t forgot the betrayal.
what happen ?
Betrayl? For not renewing a contract with a dev who spent ridiculous amounts of money in his frustrated movie director wanna be carrear who was always lore focused on rubbing apulders with Hollywood celebs over making quality games?
Who aside from MGS1-3 (that btw had huge contribution from Tomakazu Fukushima) lost quality by each installment tremendously and made only mediocre overrated shit like ZoE and Death Stranding?
@guilhermejrmarin Right, that's why their first game without Kojima, Metal Gear Survive was such a great success and why Silent Hill PT manage to come out to great success. Oh Wait! Go back to playing pachiko machines fool. You must be Konami's CEO with how you blatantly throwing a core employee under the bus.
@@guilhermejrmarinyou’re actually fucking stupid if you think Death Stranding was mediocre
@@AVWUVUi just can think rationally and impartially
No love for Konami nor for Kojima
MG Survive didn’t even tried to be a Metal Gear.
You’re just a butt hirt fan boy who loves the man blindly like some kinda faith.Grow up kid
9:17 HAHAHAHAHAHA priceless
And, no, they won't implement that because dream is another game Kojima was working on, so they won't feature a Kojima game in it, just like they did in the PS3 remasters... This has been known for years.
Copy it 1 to 1. Don't mess 💩 up like Square and Final Fantasy VII.
It looks great but i prefer the old colour palette and i'm cautious with Kojima-san not being involved
If you play the game in legacy mode it'll have the original colour pallette
@@GigerGang they actually confirmed that the filter is an actual option that can be toggled ON or OFF at any given moment, and you don't need to play in Legacy Mode to enable it.

Metal Gear Solid 1 getting the Bloodborne treatment (forgotten)
its hard to put out a 6 hour game nowadays
They did say they were remaking the games in chronological order. So maybe they're already working on MGS1 & MGS2 remakes.
We're getting an MGS3 remake, which is already pretty amazing (especially considering it actually looks GOOD, so far) so I think one day we may get MGS1. Don't forget, MGS3 is chronologically the first part of the story.
As a huge fan of the series, I am really cautious of any MG game being developed without Kojima and his team, however if this game turns out well then I think we can look forward to a remake of the LEGENDARY MGS1.
All I want Konami to do is make the exact same game but with better graphics. Don't need any extra physics, animation, voice work, or anything.
Saying that out loud shows how fucking stupid that sounds. Gaming has really stagnated if what people are asking for is pretty much "the same thing but different". People recognize that remakes of movies are cash grabs yet that same media literacy illudes gamers.
@@konradfunBoo fuckin hoo. Konami are serving the fanbase what they want. Play something else if you don't like it.
@@konradfun I think noodles was speaking specifically about this remake, not for games in general. They can explore new concepts for NEW games. Remakes should be as faithful as possible while bringing it up to modern day tech.
@@konradfunyou’re speaking facts
You can see in the trailer that they have improved the facial animation quite drastically, which I very much welcome. The faces are extremely emotive and its beautiful. But yeah, controls and graphics (I include animations in that personally) are what they're upgrading, which is all we want them to do.
My God! Your never gonna get gamers happy. They moan some remakes wasn't done precise. When it's done precise they moan it doesn't look natural because they completely remade a PS2 game 😂
The animations looks out dated to me. They need to redo all of em.
These guys are clueless.
Full price for a 7hr game. No thanks
Mgs delta isn't 7hrs game it's about 10 hrs and if you played extreme mode you can get around 15 lhrs gameplay with alot of enemies
