I'm a Chilean who left Chile to live in Kazakhstan thanks to a job opportunity and it's really a marvellous place, so much that I can't help but feel second hand embarassment from my country, in Chile if you leave your kid alone you'll never see them again, you can't go outside safely, it's full of povery, terrorism, drugs and it's only getting worse. Chile is incredibly scared of dictatorship as they believe it's the same as North Korea, we keep craving democracy and freedom even thought we're unable to think rationally so there is absolutly no order, not so long ago there was even an university that had an approved document that explained why pedophilia was okay, how can I be proud of my country like that, I can't be proud of my native home just because I was born in it, I''ll feel proud when we start making changes which is definetively not happening right now.
I remember that my friends that were ignorant about Kazakhstan told me to be careful as those places are full of misogyny, war and that dictatorships were dangerous so I could get killed and in prision for being a woman. Now that I'm here I'm amazed at how civil everyone is, aside from the crazy driving everything they told me was incorrect, people are extremly kind and respecful, full of values, it has beautiful culture and people avoid conflics if possible as they have filters (Unlike Chile citizens who think they can trash whoever they want because of free speech). And again, really safe, people leave their bags whenever without being scared of it being robbed, it was hard getting used to stop being paranoid 24/7.

That's one of the reasons why, if asked the question in the video, I'd say the U.S. The coups in the Southern Cone (the southern most part of South America) between 1971 and 1976 weren't a coincidence. I went to Chile 5 years ago and had a wonderful time. 6:14 was that Blondie nightclub? 6:30 that fountain was in Santa Lucia, just around the corner from the airbnb I stayed in. I don't speak any Spanish but thanks to my friend who I was visiting there I was able to meet some amazing people. PS I hope you went to the viewing area at the top of the Sky Costanera centre, the views from up there are terrific.
