One day, I decided to really look at my owners manual just cause. Come to find out, I wasn't good at finding neutral lol. Kawasaki simply made things easy for me!

Oh by the way for those of you that don't know, using your gears is a way more effective way to slow yourself down then coasting in neutral. Just stay calm and no one to downshift. Downshift too quickly, and the wheel will be forced to spend slower than your speed it feels like it's locking up. Some riders do this on purpose to back the bike into a corner. But the gears will slow you down quick downshifts while hard on the front brakes

idk about other manufacturers but kawasakis have this thing that allows them to quickly find neutral as long as you’re under a certain speed, so keep that in mind when buying your bike (unless you already have another bike in mind lol) see you on the road!
I used to do that from like a 6th gear drop, with the clutch in, put in neutral go by the cops stupi fast and because they couldn't hear the bike they wouldn't even look. It will save your but like when you are on US1 and is an early Saturday morning and the road is clear wide ans you start goin faster than tou should and miss the cop in the back of the gas station. 😂
All the folks proving the otherwise legit point wrong, let me explain you engineering briefly: He's pressing down the gear lever without touching the clutch, right, he's not using it, so it could be said that he's technically not damaging it since it's kept of the operation. Well, from that perspective, the clutch is always ENGAGED, and CONNECTED to both: fly wheel as well the gears at the same time. Now the gears are downed and it also pushes the clutch to match the flywheel speed with that of engaged gear, and since the flywheel obviously isn't at the same speed as it should've been on the downed gear, it is forced to match it up, thus initially the clutch slips while making the flywheel rotate at the desired speed, and since flywheel is also connected to piston it self, it resists and that's how clutch wears out unusually and making it "burn".

Yes, everything. Coasting into N is just wrong, "rev matching strain" doesn't exist and you won't lock if you know what you're doing and clicking down a gear wouldn't bring u to 15k revs
I used to ride a Honda CB100, and I found its gear pattern to be incredibly convenient in crowded areas. It follows a sequence: N-1-2-3-4-N, which is often referred to as a rotary pattern. This design made it effortless to locate neutral, even in hectic situations.
Why can't all manufacturers do that. Giving neuter at top , so we can use it while down hill and turn of the bike to save fuel in case we are in a remote area and running out of gas.

One click up goes one gear up, if you want to go from 3rd to 5th you need to click up 2 times. Same goes for downshifting aswell. But it is possible to accidentally click it more than once if you leave your foot over/under the shifter afterwards, but not likely if you know what you’re doing
The word you're thinking of is sequential. The shifting on a motorcycle is sequential which means that there is a set order, a sequence, in which the gears are shifted through.

Not exactly , people are upset because he’s shifting down at really high rpm etc. it won’t hurt it really if your revmatching properly and do it once in a blue moon. If your almost redlining downshifting to first every time you stop. Yeah it’s gonna cause a lot of wear and tear MUCH faster . If he rode the gears out a bit from 5-2 to slow down first it wouldn’t be an issue. Slipper clutch is helping him a lot tho. If you don’t have a slipper you can lock up the rear wheel downshifting too aggressively . Not good. That said I never liked dropping down to first at anything over 6-7k rpm that first gear just feels a bit different.

I went to an msf course at a Harley dealership. The bike I had was so worn out and the shifter was too close to the peg that my toe wouldn’t even fit between to change gears. The shifter was so loose that I had a terrible time shifting to neutral.

It sounds like a small item but makes city riding so much easier. If the bike is stopped and you shift from 1st it will go to N rather than 2nd

Start on a 250cc bro. My Honda rebel was a great bike. It would only do 75mph max but it won't kill you near as fast while you are trying to learn.

On my shift lever, neutral is easy to spot due to it being like half a gear, and when in neutral the lever is more jerky than when a gear engaged

I would just back off the throttle, and use both brakes evenly without touching the clutch. No time to downshift IF you mean it's THAT immediately.

I learned the rev matching "heel toe" in my dad's track car, now i have a Kawasaki 400 and its way easier.
the single gear pad model it feels like a design flaw its always feels difficult to change gears...old front & back was best & easy.
lol im finding neutral while still being in 2nd gear
Then theres me who grabs a fist full of clutch and lets momentum slowly decrease

why? He's not doing anything wrong to the bike
Why? He shifted perfectly.
Never use first gear to slow down, go to 2nd on the brakes. Then find neutral once your stopped.
