    I’m a young rider, got my licence in august and bought my bike in September, I chose the trident 660.
    After doing my lessons on the CB 650, trying the mt 07 and the hornet 750 I decided to try the trident because I loved the looks so much and I was amazed. It was way above my expectations, a retro / modern looking bike which is playful and fast. You can do everything on this bike, go fast, « chill », long rides (it’s confortable, even for someone on the back), wheelings etc.
    Plus, you’ll be looked on the street because it is not a common bike AND it’s beautiful 😉
    To everyone looking for a first (or not) bike, I strongly recommend the trident 🔱

    Ended up buying the Hornet 750 last year, after considering the CB650R and the Tuono. I went through 3 bikes last year. Started out with the CB1000R (2019), then to a 900 Hornet (2002) and then onto the Hornet 750. The CB650R is a great bike, but just a smaller version of the 1000r. I test rode the Tuono factory, which i enjoyed, but was put off by the reliability issues of the engine. So decided on the Hornet 750. I took it out for a test ride twice. Once when it first came out, and just before buying one. It is so light, fun and flickable, probably because it has a narrow back tyre. I did feel it was a bit flighty at higher speeds, on the test ride. Not found that to be the case on my bike. Maybe the tyre pressures weren't bang on, when I rode the demo. Who knows? I would highly recommend riding as many bikes as you can, as its all very much down to your own perceptions. I've ridden sports bikes, tourers and super nakeds like the Tuono 1100 factory ( my Mate's). I am happy with my choice, as I can enjoy more of the bikes potential power, on the road. Plus for the price I paid, the bike has a lot going for it. I had the Quickshifter added, which is ok going up. Not so good coming down, imoa. The dash is great, and it comes with Bluetooth connectivity, as standard. You get turn by turn prompts on the screen, when you enable the Honda Roadsync app(which uses the maps on phone)
    Anyway, go ride them all, and decide for yourselves. Ride safe Peeps 🙏

    Trident and CB650R would be my top choices. Both excellent offerings with unique character due to their not-another-bloody-parallel-twin engines. The Tuono isn't a naked bike any more than a Honda CBR650R is a naked bike.

    • @claesnorell8702
      @claesnorell8702 Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, the Tuono is faired to a degree, but the wide flat bars makes it feel like a naked bike. Best of both worlds in my view. I liked the Trident when I rode one but it’s too small, has some extremely cheap components on it, and that awful swing arm attached license plate holder.

    • @rogerp4612
      @rogerp4612 Před 4 měsíci

      @claesnorell8702 the merits of the Tuono are not in question. But given that a naked bike is defined by the stripping away of fairing and wind screen, and the Tuono has both, it is clearly not a naked bike. Add flat bars to a Fireblade and you don't have a naked bike.

  • @JagoTFC
    @JagoTFC Před měsícem +1

    Got a Z650 2023 as first bike. 68hp are more than enough for me. I've put an exhaust and ecu tune on it and I can't ask more than this from my experience. The only bikes I might consider are the Tuono 660, GSX8S and the CB650R because they have bright color schemes and an exhaust that stays under the engine. I also like the 790/890 because of the exhaust clearing the view of the rear wheel. Too bad for the Trident 660 which was the bike I was going to buy the same exact day I took the Z. The Trident seat felt like a condom and in real life wasn't good looking as in pictures and video. Also black bikes aren't my taste, so I was looking for the white/red one. And it also feels heavy a lot more than the spec sheet says (which is wrong too). The Z felt right, the bar and the footpegs were strange at first because I trained on a Gladius 650 with the SV650 engine. But the lightness... It felt like a bicycle between the legs. The purpose of this bike was to commute. Yes the ecu remap will hinder the fuel consumption but since I will do ecu remapping...
    About the engine note of a 180 crank parallel twin: I don't dislike it. I actually like it when it's increasing or decreasing rpms, pops and bangs a lot. The original exhaust looks way better than 99% of the after market ones except for the LeoVince Underbody which isn't road legal nor available for euro 5 bikes. It's meh only when you cruise along at the same speed, but an aftermarket exhaust helps a bit on that side.
    The original exhaust started ringing when pushed hard, it wasn't too silent but missed on the lower frequencies making the sound so unpleasant that you felt like you were mistreating the engine when passing 6K rpm. Now with the ecu remap and full roadsitalia exhaust you really don't want to go below 6K rpm.
    Anyway I've rode it for just 2700km. I'm definitely a noob yet.

    Question: I'm 5,7 toll, weight 190+ and 58years old (with the heart of a 40 ;) ....why did you got rid of your Triden if it you thought it was so good? What should I consider before committing to get one?

    Idk I watched the used market and bought a Yamaha R1 for 6,000. Came with full exhaust and was tuned with new tires. If you are not afraid of tinkering with bikes and want a much better price I suggest a used bike. Literbike isn't naked or beginner so find a bike that you can handle and learn on.

    This list shows me two things:
    1. We are so lucky with having so many high quality bikes to choose from.
    2. Bike in the UK are very cheap!
    Man I love the Trident, if it wasn't for its Windows 95 throttle response.
    And what on earth was Suzuki thinking with its rear light styling?!

    Agree on the pricing strategy i just don’t think the Tuono is in many peoples considerations because of it but I picked up a brand new MY 23 Tuono 660 factory model for £7950 on the road towards the end of October last year after some back & forth 😉
    I test rode the hornet, mt, trident & lastly the Tuono, it’s way ahead of those other bikes in all areas imo & it definitely sits in a higher bracket. 100bhp, QS, rider modes, traction, cruise, good brakes/suspension & handling, great to look at & If it stays reliable 🤞🏻 I’ll be very happy i picked one up instead of the other contenders.

    As a beginner i went for the vitpilen 401. Just because of the looks, it a very good motorcycle i highly recommend it. It looks way better than a ducati monster and costs more than half. Many people stop me because of the futuristic style. I live in nyc and have not seen that bike on the street thats how unique it is. The vitpilen 401 is not on this list.

    I know they'd be both much lower CC bikes ... and 2023 rather than 2024 models, but IF the focus part of the title is "affordable Naked" and the 2023 CB650R made the list... I'd say it would be cool to include the beautifully designed Husqvarnas Svartipilen and Vitpilen 401 in the list.

    My choice is the upcoming, we hope, Honda Hawk 750, a retro-themed version of the Hornet. Since the Hawk isn't out yet, it's between the Hornet and the KTM, with the KTM's looks tipping the balance to the Honda. And the Honda doesn't even look that good!

    No CFMoto? I have a 700CL-X, it's the same frame and mostly same engine as the Z650 but capacity upped to 700cc, better suspension, and it looks better too. Their EU site has the MSRP at 5999 Euro. Their new 800NK is using an LC8 engine from the KTM 790 and is coming in at 6999 Euro... Damn affordable for some sweet bikes

    As an older fella here in Australia who hasn’t ridden in a while I’ve been looking around for some time for the best bike that would suit for a more casual ride. Being a big fan of Japanese bikes and KTMs I’ve been looking at the five and although spoilt for choice I have to say that the Suzuki GSX-8S would be my choice as I’m looking for something fun that I can simply putt around on and not for a racer. Mind saying that I will be trying more than just the GSX-8S but I’ll be avoiding the the Z650 and the CB650R as both are limited to 40kw here in Australia as learner approved bike and don’t have a unrestricted version like the MT07 or the SV650. As I’m a pensioner and the lack of dealer network and the big money for these European bikes in this country the 790 Duke, Trident 660 and the Tuono 660 would be out.

    Wish the Tuono had bigger engine with more torque in low/mid rpm. Very high quality bike though. The first engines early in 2021 had conrod failures due to improper heat-treatment which was a recall and are bulletproof otherwise. Aprilias are the italian Hondas in quality terms, i think.

    I'm gonna ditch my Sportster this year for something lighter and with ABS. It's rough like hell but it pulls like a mule but I'm getting old for this. You need UFC grip strength for the hand control and strong man legs to move it around. I like the KTM, the Triumph and the 4 cylinder Honda. The good old Suzuki is cool too.

    You'll get well-deserved push back on the Tuono, because it is a sport bike with flat bars, not a naked bike. What makes a naked bike "naked" is the stripping away of fairing and windshield. It's almost like there's a clue in the name, or something. 😊 The Tuono has both. It's not a naked bike.
