The brilliance of Weird Al is demonstrated in his ability to move from the 80s pop era, to the alternative era, to the hip hop era.
What a guy
Don't you mean "White a guy"?
Weird Al's influence is one reason nerd cultures are so popular today. He showed it's okay to proudly enjoy the things you like. Then to just be a good dude and positive person that's so clearly thankful for his fans and life. It's like just such a great example.

I love that he puts "YOU SUCK" on the Wikipedia page for Atlantic Records.
For those who may not know, Atlantic Records is the only record company that refused to allow Weird Al to release a parody he had already recorded with the blessing of the original artist.
Thanks for this! I did wonder. What was the song he had parodied that they wouldn't allow?
@@sally-annecleveland6425 James Blunt's "You're Beautiful". James gave permission, so Al created his parody, but then Atlantic Records said no, so Al wasn't able to release it on an album. However, the lawyers at Atlantic Records weren't too bright, so they only required that he not sell the song, and Al responded by posting the song for free on his website.
Prince was a asshat too, he never let weird Al parody any of his songs even though Al had great ideas for them.
THAT’S GENIUS!
To think that my favorite band Skillet was signed to Atlantic during their Awake album, didn’t know they sucked according to Weird Al

There were only so many channels back then. Mormons are only a shade less white than Amish, which Al has also touched on.
Weird Al is a timeless genius, I've loved this song since it came out and it's hardly aged a day. It's because he's clearly a smart guy and actually tries to understand what he's parodying, so it forever feels genuine and clever.

He said it but it was meant to be sarcastic by the writers of the show. They did a similar gag about Jim Carrey movies.
Top 10 rappers Eminem was to afraid to diss
This isn't even Al's full potential. Listen to "Hardware store", an original Weird Al masterpiece
HEY are you seriously telling me that no one here's old enough to remember Star Wars Kid and his cameo in this video @ 1:25? 😆
All of these stereotypes are becoming more acceptable now that the nerds run the world
Danny Meeks what?
you spelled jews wrong
@@Taydrum lmao
I remember making fun of this nerdy character in elementary school and now I’m a programmer lol
@Danny Meeks when your the only one who knows have to get anything done, the plebs always take shots at you,
Weird Al being able to replicate the rhyme schemes and flow of a rapper like Chamillionaire just proves how he can do it all.
Real musicians like Weird Al most likely find rap to be a very simple form of music and it probably took him a few days to write and create this
@@commentresurrection1841 He said this song took a long time solely because he had to do so much research on what nerds like XD
@@samantharedacted9226 LOL I honestly figured he knew all of this stuff already on his own. Damn now I feel like a huge white nerd for being 90% of this song!
Chamillionaire himself praised this parody and Weird Al's rapping flow.
The flow of the 2nd verse from krayzie bone is insane
It always makes me laugh when gangster Key and Peele are driving by in their lowrider and lock their door when Al comes walking up to them.
0:46 no more Stephen hawking in the library please Al. Get that creep OUTTTT
Weird Al is a human gem. He has mastered the art of parody and brings nothing but joy through his satire and music. World needs more of this.
I agree
Yes to your entire comment, he's literally a genius!
He has a reputation of being very approachable and very nice. He also only does parodies of songs he gets permission from the artist on which he does not have to do. He also doesn't cuss and he always does comedy in a positive Way, never punching down.
totally dude. completely perfect
Coolio wasnt feeling the joy.
Chamillionaire himself put "White & Nerdy" on his official MySpace page, and commented that he enjoys the parody.
In an interview, he also stated he was pleasantly surprised by Yankovic's rapping ability, saying: "He's actually rapping pretty good on it, it's crazy ... I didn't know he could rap like that."
According to Yankovic, Chamillionaire approached him on the red carpet after "Ridin'" won the Grammy award for Best Rap Song at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, and thanked him for creating the parody, as, in Yankovic's words, he had "made it undeniable that ["Ridin'"] was the rap song of the year".
That's pretty classy of Chamillionaire
You know what would of been great? Chamillionaire made a cameo in the video
Internet nowadays : What is myspace? Lol
Every major artist agrees that Weird Al parodying your song is the undeniable sign that you've made it.
Has anyone seen the Chamillionaire video where he talks about meeting Michael Jordan?
Back in the day I uploaded 2 mashups of this song. A version with the Riding Dirty video played with The White & Nerdy Song, called titled Riding Nerdy, and the opposite video where the White & Nerdy video played with the Riding Dirty song, called White & Dirty. Needless to say, the second video got taken down faster than the first one. 🤣
*My ergonomic keyboard never leaves me bored*
😆
I love that he throws in people like Key and Peele and Seth Green into this! Also Donny Osmund dancing in the background 😂
you see me mowing your front lawn
Donny Osmond was icing on the cake.
Donny Osmund? I didn’t recognize him but I grew up on that show 😮
I knew it was Seth Green!
Reminds me of why I don’t drink and watch CZcams. That includes coffee, tea, soda, etc.
This was my jam
ayy same dude
Bruh I saw your comments on Eminem’s music videos and now you’re here
Are you that garbage guy lol
Taco, fancy meeting you here. I was looking up a parody of Ridin' featuring Derpy from My Little Pony.
samme
Damn, Weird Al actually did a pretty good job at looking like a high schooler when he was in his 40s.
So does CZcams let people upgrade the quality by overwriting the original upload? (Yes, I am questioning 4K from 14 years ago)
yes, but i’ve heard it’s only for certain accounts like music video uploaders that meet certain criteria
It suck how he's not praised for being lyrical. Rap, rock, pop etc. The man has flow with extreme punctuality that gets overlooked because he's does parodies. The man has extreme talent that spanned out throughout 40 years. He is the fucking legend
