My bending technique has been all wrong --- it's been wrong for 25 years. Thank you, Rob, for this vid. It's making bending -- and playing -- much easier and so much more enjoyable.
Hey John that’s awesome, thank you so much for watching and I really appreciate you saying this :-)
Rob, this was incredible! I really liked your breakdown of live (playing) confidence. Very insightful and down to earth analysis.
Wow I wish I could have found a guitar teacher like you when I was younger I might actually be able to play 🤘
Hey Rob, this was phenomenal. I’ve never learned so much about playing in 20 minutes before. I was wondering if anyone’s created tabs for the exercises (or similar exercises online) that you mentioned in the video?
Excellent lesson Rob! Thank you!
Thanks for the video!
Rob, you're clearing away a lot of the fog for me! 👍👍
Great lesson Rob, keep up the good work
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
This is pretty awesome I've been watching Lee and Pete were ever doing these and I have learned a lot from both of them but now I'm ready to see what you've got robbed guarantee it's going to be great and thank you in advance for the lesson
As someone with well over 1,000-gigs under my belt, I want to congratulate you for that first three minutes. Beautifully, perfectly said. I have said pretty much the same things to my students but not quite as succinctly as you did. And thank you for putting it at the front of the video where it can have maximum impact on up-and-coming players.
Hi Kevin, thanks for that mate, much appreciated :-)
Some real crucial stuff here, Rob. Thanks for sharing! Congrats on so many years of doing this.
Love that Chapman you are using Rob. Always been a fan of Fretboard dots.
Missus just ordered me a clockwork wolf and co beanie. Can't wait to be sporting some merch!
Awesome thanks Dan! And please thank you better half :-)
Thank you for doing this, this is the stuff a lot need to hear.
You are welcome Matthew, thanks for watching :-)
Another really useful video, thank you for taking the time to make it! So much stuff here for me to work on :) I'm a lockdown learner so CZcams has been my teacher and videos like this are like gold when you find them! All your lesson style videos are excellent :) Thank you!
Thank you Roxy, great to know this is useful - I have two new lessons going up every week for the next few weeks :-)

Rob thank you for this video! When you started explaining bending I quickly realized how off my technique was.
Rob you lead such a clean lifestyle, I'd love to hear some of your vice's and habits in your routine. Can't wait for you to visit UK again soon
I eat a lot, sometimes I drink too much coffee ha ha...
sound proud , say 'my G string' . No more wishy washy , 'the G string' . Own it !
What I think when I'm watching a band? I'm usually watching the guitar player studying his technique or the riff and solo but sometimes something will be so great that I'm just bewildered in amazement. Which for some reason I laugh sometimes it causes a awkward moment. Idk its kinda like how sometimes people cry when they happy lol. Sometimes I'm just so caught into the song that in my mind I day dream that I'm jamming with them or think of how they feel by the crown being in the palm of their hand. Playing live or even being in a awesome crowd at an amazing event that just feels like it's a historic moment in time... I feel the buzz off the energy of the band and feed off the crowd myself to soak in every little thing like time its self slows down a little. I already have a great memory but sometimes I'm like reminding myself focus remember all of this lol. It really depends who is the band or what is the song that depicts what I'm thinking at the time lol like if Freddie Mercury was alive I'd be wishing I could sing like him but if I'm at a conference with the worst singer in the world than I may judge him in a encouraging way.... I would not be rude and boo or throw stuff. Well not unless they don't some asshole shit to me lol
Hey Rob, can you make a video on writing instrumental music or writing in general? I've been stuck on this one song for half a year now. I have killer 2 minutes where I love every part of it, but I don't know where to go next. I've probably explored like a 100 different possible paths and none of them feel like they really belong together. Would appreciate the wisdom!
Hello Mr matchless, you will enjoy chapter 6 which is all about writing music/riffs, the method for doing this that I have used for Dorje, Clockwork Wolf & Co, Monkey Lord etc. Make sure to subscribe and hit the bell so you are notified when it arrives :-)
The next 5 weeks is going to be awesome :)
I hope so, absolutely loads coming up covering almost everything you can think of :-)
My girlfriend plays bass in a rock tribute band, I have seen tons of her shows. After every show the band gripes about all these mistakes they had with timing or missing notes in a solo etc.... yet me a musician who knows the show, has seen it dozens of times, still hardly ever notice these mistakes. We musicians are way too hard on ourselves most of the time.
So much great info it’s almost ridiculous
Thanks Rob, vids like these always help.
Great tips - I learned a lot watching this- As a photographer I go to lots of gigs, I dont judge the artists -I photograph them also being a guitar player in a blues band myself it would easy enough to judge, but hey who am I to do that??? Great video Rob (Ps love the old Vox amp you have - I own an AC 30 - top tones )
Love your bending and lagato techniques! Vibrato's excellent
Thanks . * Steve Howe is gonna be pisssed when he see s this*
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to music ! 🎶
Hey Rob love the videos! The Vox ac30 in the back, what year is that?
Thanks for the tips Rob. Remember to sell some guitars.
You don't need confidence to play in front of people if u don't care what people think lol that's just as good as confidence.
I thought this was a really helpful video...and not only if your just starting out but even if you’ve been playing for a while there’s a lot of really helpful “technique nuggets” in there lol.
Thank you sir, glad I could help and thank you for watching :-)
It is so strange how you can play a solo flawlessly a hundred times over, but then go in front of three people (or even just a video camera) and totally screw it up
Hey, why are these videos unlisted?
Legato is great. Tom Quale is master legato.
I think you used the wrong thumbnail Rob, it says chapter 4
Bro thank you so much, made nine of these and I forgot to change the Chapter image!! All sorted now, thanks for having my “graphical back” :-)
@@RobChappers always! These lessons are awesome can't wait for chapter 3 🤟🤟
What about banter between songs, do you think this is important? Never know what to say
I think it’s really important, connects you to the audience and makes it a live thing rather than just running off the tracks. I always just say whatever I’m thinking, but then I’m quite a chatty dude. Thanks for watching man :-)
@@RobChappers Thanks for taking the time to respond, appreciate it. Guess that's a skill in itself.
Viewers please remember to recycle your plastic bags, Rob's plastic plants thank you.
Just listen to eric clapton
Plus I’ve not seen you at Anderson’s in a while and I’m bored of Danish Pete now sorry
As soon as I’m allowed to fly back to the UK I’ll be there filming.
