how much did the jessem rulers cost? there are no prices
Dude get lasik. It’s well thought out now. Very high success rate
The Powerboot is a cool idea, but having it glued to one battery seems like a miss to me. I have multiple batteries for my tools, so I would need multiple Powerboots ($$$). And then it feels like each one would need the same set of frequently-used bits, which means having multiple of each one. Or somehow remembering which one had the router bits in it, for example, and making sure that one was charged up and ready whenever I wanted to use the router. Cool idea, not sure it really saves on time and effort, though. Maybe. It seems like a better way to go would be to have an adapter shim that fits the vendor's batteries on one side, and fits a Powerboot on the other. Then you could move Powerboots between batteries whenever needed. So instead of buying multiple Powerboots, buy one but multiple adapter shims. Happy Easter everyone!
Yea and its 50$ each, ouch. Maybe 20
beat me too it. Can't see having it on a battery and then that battery goes to a charger and you're back to a regular battery with no mag storage.
He's gotta promote those high dollar impulse buys. Its not about recommending the best stuff. It's about recommending the things that get him the best amazon commision.
Exactly, I have 5 batteries across my dozen tools and they're constantly shifting. In order for this to work you'd need designated batteries for each tool (and you'd STILL have the issue of charging and it being unavailable for that time. )
Just wear a belt... or even a sturdy "fanny pack". Problem solved.
It's should have stayed an idea
How does raising the center of gravity on a vertical tool make it more stable? Calling BS on the "powerboot"
Wider base. Clearly an elevated center of gravity will cause it to tip more easily once it begins to tip, but not until then.
Also, it's a little meaningless to call bs on the concept based on an aspect that isn't even in the top 3 reasons the thing was made. It's a storage solution, not a balance solution.
.... though I still think it's an extremely specific problem its solving, and useless to most ppl with multiple batteries they swap btwn tools.
The rubberized material and the flared base does indeed help with stability. We know this from our own use and what's been reported from other users.
Is this an April Fools joke??
So if you have a powerboot on all your batteries you would have to shift all the contents from one to another every time your battery goes flat. Sounds like a lot of work, not to mention the added bulk preventing them fitting in a battery makpac or other battery storage.
Ruler with the grip pads is a superb idea. for critical marking with a marking knife having a ruler slip is incredibly frustrating and potentially dangerous. I’m impressed.
Problem with the power boot is that I have 20 batteries and so it would be kind of a waste to have it attached to one of them.
I was thinking the exact same thing, but then I thought perhaps it would be of value instead to use a patch of industrial velcro on top of the boot and on each battery. That way you could peel off the boot and tack it onto a different battery. But then I thought, nah. I'll just you tool belt pockets for things I want on hand. This one is a solution to a problem nobody really has.
At 50 dollars a piece you cand buy a lot of holders for much less and my front pocket is the cheapest.
Yeah this is the biggest issue for me. if you then need to buy multiple you will either get frustrated with losing the bit you need as it’s in the other one…. Or you go to the expenses of buying more bits….. the use magnets to hold the bi5s inside… they should of used sticky magnets to hold the box to the battery’s.. you then buy multiple sticky magnet pads for your battery’s and you swap the box to another battery when you go to charge it.
I love these tools too, Matt. ❤ I neither have nor have used them but the sure look fabulous! I thank you for introducing them to your viewe
Gimmicky, hard pass. On the boot
The make attachments for almost every drill the holds bits so this is pointless
Change batteries and your lost. Pass!
Lol
Yeah, that is a mad design flaw. I'm not even a professional, but I cycle through batterries way too much to make this feasible.
Thanks brother
Thanks for sharing this with rest of us, I was curious on the IGaging Squares and you answered my curiosity on the quality of these on this video!
Glad it was helpful!
This would be easy to re-do as an attachment ring for a battery and a base that can be swapped around. 3D printed cheaply for those that have one.
You could make a much shorter one that is just the flare, too.
Having magnets next to your battery is a bad idea
Great idea, thanks for sharing. I would like to see its performance working outside in the hot sun and see if the adhesive fails and shows separation.
Good stuff Brother... grabbed a trio of the powerboots!
It costs me money every time I watch your videos.
🤣
Pay per minute Internet? I thought that was only on "special" channels 😏😳
Just use your pockets
Ya jessem charges by the minute to peek up their tools skirts!
Pass on the boot, like the idea of a small bit and screw holder that attaches to the drill (not the battery). The grippy ruler is kind of neat. I have iGaging layout squares and set up blocks - very nice, recommend their stuff.
Years ago, I purchased a set of Craftsmen screw drivers with clamping tongs like the Wera's screw holders. Great for non ferious screws.
Do you mean anti magnetic (non Ferrous) or not angry ( non Furious) screws..
Happy Easter Outlaw’s! Christ is King, Wood is good & everything under my hood is running like it should!! 👍
Do you know if there's something like that miter set for a miter saw? My saw is way off and very inaccurate because I got a cheap one and didn't really do the research years ago when I got into wood working. I've tried a digital angle finder but it's hard to get it exact. I need to upgrade but can't afford to at the moment. Thanks.
If you're looking for some more mid-price parts storage, I would check out the Allit Pro cases available at Lee Valley tools. These are very similar to the Festool/Tanos Systainer³ Organizers (like the ORG M 89), but they're half the price.
They're part of a whole ecosystem similar to the Systainers, but Lee Valley only has storage boxes and accessories. I haven't found a place in North America selling the rest.
Another option is the Bosch L-BOXX (and I-BOXX), which are Bosch branded Sortimo containers and the system Bosch uses instead of Systainers. There are a couple things I really like about these and a couple I don't, but I especially like parts which allow cases to slide out.
I glued Dewalt bit kit to mine and it works out similarly. Albeit, a bit less resistant to drops.
although the magnet is a very good idea. Thanks for the video
We love the dragon!!!! I'm going to be getting that screw holding accessory!!! Happy Easter!
Happy Easter!
How many rulers/squares do you need ? I think that the magnetic storage box, the miter gauge calibrator, and the plastic storage boxes are worth buying. I already have strong magnetic 🧲 driver bits.
How would the miter set help you set the angle on your miter saw? I didn't see a miter slot in the saw's base.
A miter gauge for a table saw has nothing to do with a miter saw or chop saw or whatever slang term you may call them.
To me they are all chop/miter saws.. the only difference now is if it's a compound, single or double bevel.
Not much use for an out of date chop saw anymore
@@a2bendityeah, but there was some misleading b-roll displaying a miter saw in some of the shot while discussing this product… 7:52
Good stuff!
My drill, router, and other tools share the same type of batteries, and I interchange as needed, so the PowerBoot isn't quite so handy for me as for some.
Right around 9 minutes, when demonstrating "once they are both touching", it isn't touching at one end, then you cut to having a strip of metal in there. Was that miter gauge actually able to touch both without that in there? It sure looks questionable.
The Taytools small parts organizers are very affordable and functional. A 4-pack of the large boxes is $50. Small and medium boxes are a bit less.
I was quite impressed that you can touch beyond your toes more than the durability of the boxes.
I have a broken back in 2 places from 2 different incidents and can touch beyond my toes still.
@@brandonhoffman4712 I don't have back issues, but I still cannot reach my toes most days.
I like it. The ladder thing is very helpful. But I never have router bits all over the shop. They go back in the drawers or cabinet. 😂
$55 for one 18 inch ruler? No thanks. I'll wait for the Chinese copy cat.
That Powerboot looks cool, but not worth the $50 asking price. The convenience is not worth that price.
I like the dragon!! 😂
Little Debbie cakes are my weakness 😂
Happy Easter
so if my battery is on the charger, I have to have a second power boot and bit set to go back to work
Nooice!
those rulers are crazy, so if you are lining up a diagonal, could you line up with one corner, push that side down, then still be able to adjust it around at the top to get it perfectly lined up in the other corner? if so, i need it
I wish there was a demonstration of that screw holder thingy... how does it move out of the way to permit the screw to be completely driven?
What I have always wanted- yet another block attached to my drill. No good for DeWalt anyway- it is coloured red...
Screw holder- my dewalt magnetic one works fine. And is more rugged.
Storing parts in boxes with lids and catches- NO! You want drawers. Large ones. With items only one layer. Pull, grab, push. Not lift, carry, open catches, lift lid, grab, close lid, engage catches, carry, replace. (Yes, parts bins are even better- if you have the space.)
Another interesting show but I am unwilling to pay $50 x 8 batteries for the convenience of carrying bits around.
what is the link for the miterset so i can buy it? thanks
Just use velcro . That way you can change between batteries
The power boot is a handy idea, but I would need many of them since I have a lot of batteries. However, for a job away from the shop they might be a good idea.
Izzy swam supports this guys As well.
Trying to use smaller not larger... I'd like to see more innovation with something like this build into the tool. Perhaps handle..? Or smaller batteries like powerstack with built in bit holder.
The miter set is $100. Ridiculously expensive. I really wish you would disclose the price of these tools and save us the trouble of looking it up on their web sites.
Power boot 😅, some home owner with love that thing but no thanks I'm always looking to make my tools more powerful and lighter
Yes let’s choose one battery to use for a specific tool, genius 🙄
There is a quick change adapter coming soon.
😂😂 I'll just put the bits and screws in my pocket next to the $50 I saved😂😂
@@Sly_Wolf_1just but stick on magnetic tape put on the sides of whatever you want
@@shrimpinpat 👍🏻Thanks but I'm just fooling, in reality I have two mag wrist straps for when I don't want to dig in my tool belt for bits or screws up a ladder.
The power boot kinda defeats the purpose of the cordless drill. Great you have all your bits but if you have 100 batteries are you suppose to out fit every one with a boot. I never know if my battery is going to be on a drill or the router. It would be good it it had a small plate that glued or stuck to all batteries then you could move the boot around from battery to battery keeping it with the tool. Also it is a bit bulky
i dont know , i still like my HF storage boxes with removable container/dividers about the same price and well made too. like to try the ruler sometime!!!
The rulers look cool. I might be in for a set.
I like the stainless rulers with the cork bottom too, but the cork dies on a jobsite too fast.
I hate stuff moving on me while marking.
I would like the screw holder because you can't find screwdrivers with holders in the store. We had many screwdrivers in the Navy that had metal clips that held the screw onto the tip. However, I left that job 50 years ago and don't think any of screwdrivers left with me.
I don't like the power boot. My batteries get their own box and jump tools like it's the Mexican border.
I really like the jessem rulers, I think I might be in for the pre order. I need some rulers, why not great ones!
Miter set. I'm iffy here. I'm still using a stock miter gauge. By the time I buy a decent one and add in the miterset. I might as well spend a little extra on the jessem miter gauge.
Igaging layout squares. Love it! But I want to see a stainless option. Aluminum marks glazing on tile. It's a thing I'm transitioning away from. I love wood and tile/stone, I often work with both.
The organization boxes I don't like. I don't like how it forces division crossways. I don't like how the 1st row is permanently divided. I would rather have mini Rubbermaid bins, they hold racks of nails and boxes of screws better.
Your informations are always educative, God bless you sir
Thank you kindly
power boot can mess with ur battery
Why increase the weight of your drill by adding a box of bits?
My problem has been finding the right bit for the screw, Phillips, T25 torx, T20 Torx or pocket hole bit. I store my screws in empty plastic orange juice bottles. My solution I hot glue a magnet in the lid and place the bit there for the screw.
I font know if I have missed your response if so sorry for being repetitive. I wanted to know if it is OK to make your jointer jig 12" wide instead of the 10" that you stated in your video. I can make it 10 but I thought it might be a little more beneficial if I could make it 12. I just wanted to know if there was a reason it had to 10"
yes, it will be fine to make it wider.
The miter gauge do-hicky is a good idea but won't be accurate since it isn't on the saw while setting.. great concept but lost in the application.... The glove boxes glued onto the battery doesn't allow for changing batteries.. Again good concept but lost in the application.. .. But, at least I now know they all exist..
The miter gauge setter is extremely accurate if you have the saw blade set parallel to the miter slot, which you should.
@@ellisreeves OK, it also has to be calibrated to the slot in the do-hicky. The miter gauge is (should be) calibrated to the saw,, the Do-hicky is not... There is more to it than just the blade being parallel to the slot..
@twistedhillbilly6157 The miter gauge setter does not have to be set at 90 degrees to the saw blade. It is not even placed in the slot. It has a built-in miter gauge slot, and the various degree settings are positioned exactly to the built-in slot. The miter gauge is placed in the slot of the miter setter and positioned at the desired setting. So then you have perfect say 45 degree settings. If the saw blade is properly set 90 degrees to the table saw slot, when the miter gauge is inserted all lines up. I have one and it works great. Using a square is faster, but you don't have to worry about blade teeth being in the way of the square, which sometimes for me is a hassle.
@@ellisreeves You have one and you're happy with it and that's great. But you do not understand precision calibration and you are more interested in arguing than even trying to understand what I said..
I was surprised to see the price of the storage boxes. Pay day rolls around I'm buying a few to see how they fit in my drawers. I may be ordering a lot more if they fit. Plus they look like they may fit in the floor storage of my Ram 2500 which is a win also.
I noticed a center finder on the igauge square
The power boot is an amazing idea ... at $5-10ea. Not at $50.
Where can i get one of those igaging squares my amazon wont show me any 😢
links in pinned comment and in the description of this video
Sandvik makes a magnetic sleeve for T5 insert screws.
Ya various companies do. Milwaukee makes a magnetic deal that clips right onto their shockwave bits. It doesn't even touch the screw but magnetizes the tip of the bit.
MiterSet...I wonder, since you said that historically your first frustration was less-than-perfect 45's from an, um, *miter* saw, whether there's something like this...for miter saws.
In a video you made 2yrs ago "5 Ways to joint board without a jointer" you have a yellow accessory that looks slotted in the table saw slot that holds the material against the fence. What is that called? How do i find something like that. New woodworker here.
It's called a featherboard
@731Woodworks wow that was a fast reply thanks. Do u an affiliate link so I can help u out with a purchase of one?
funny enough, i preordered the Jessem setup guide end of january and still dont have it.
They have returned 1 email saying they would get back to me on a monday....4 weeks ago.
Literally the first jessem ive ever ordered, and definitely the last.
absolutely. Tried ordering the rulers but no $30 off like matt mentioned, the $10 off for pre-order set was a wash bc jessem said it was bc the individual rulers would cost $10 when bought individually so that's the $10 saving they mention. What a load of crap from these guys. I cancelled my pre-order and guess i won't be supporting them going forward either.
The Powerboot is what I like to call a GREAT idea badly executed! What you do is buy one Powerboot and stick velcro large strips on all your batteries! You just move around the Powerboot to the battery you are using! You save money and get a better use out of it!
The Powerboot is stupid. It isn't "on the tool." It's on the battery, which you swap out when the battery is dead, and then you don't have a powerboot on your tool.
I checked the price of that WERA screw holder on Amazon shortly after this video was posted, and it was $11.99. Now it's up to $15.92! 25% price hike in less than a day's time.
Happy Easter everyone. Wish happiness on all.
HI Matt - nice call out in the New York Times today!
Viewers. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
PowewerBoot. I don't like the added bulk and weight added to my power tools, not for me
No worries! It's not for everyone. It does weigh less than 8 ounces plus weight of bits.
wouldn't need that screw holder if you would just start using Robertson screws like the rest of the world.
Another Great Video ! 🤘😆🤘
What phone stand are you using?
Powerboot looks cool. Only problem is that its stuck to one battery and can't be moved from battery to battery.
Happy Easter.
Great products! I hope they all sell out.
Nice rulers....but $110 for the combo set...??? No thanks.
I do like the squares..... Not sure about the storage bins. It's funny how we become defensive about brands when it comes to certain tools/accessories.
Powerboot. The perfect place to lose your favourite bits.
Hmm, what do you use when that battery is charging? Take out all of the bits and transfer them to another powerboot? Waste of money in my opinion.
What is ohl? 0:33. In your next video, can you say oily ointment please.
just seems like a bad thing to want to have on your dri ll, as in there are other more sleek ways to keep bits on your tool. idk batteries are already big and heavy.
Happy Resurrection Day!
The ruler combo only $10 off now
and if you add it to cart, price doesn't change. JeesEm says it's bc all 3 separately purchase would cost you $10 more so you're saving $10 buying the combo. BS excuse bc when i tried to pre-order, it went down to $99 but upon checkout completion, it was $109 pus shipping. I told them to cancel my order if they can't fix that.
Thanks for the video, Matt. Thought you might be interested to know, I recently bought the i-Gaging square set, hoping for a more cost effective alternative to a Woodpeckers square. Unfortunately, when the squares arrived, they were both out of square by more than the stated margin of error. And, the two squares were out of square in opposite directions. Taytools did take them back, and even paid for the shipping, so thanks to them too. But I did end up selling my right arm for a Woodpeckers square. Good thing I'm a lefty.
yo officer, festool or mirka as far as orbital sanders? plz and ty
I've never used any Mirka sanders. I hear they are really nice. But I do like my Festool sanders a lot.
@@731Woodworks last question! i promise (i think lol), that tall festool sander is brushed, is it worth spending 200+ dollars on a brushed tool? thats what has me on the fence.
@@stevenking997 I don't see it as an issue honestly. Never had any trouble with mine and have been using them a few years now. (Also, love your books 🤣)
@@731Woodworks you keep pumping out these videos for me, i'll keep writing books for you.
meh, the bit holder is a good idea but priced too high at almost $50.
I like those Taytools boxes.
Jessem is $40 upcharge to ship to USA. Lol 😆
Oh I see. The price for that set up block changes price once it's your cart.
the boot is just dumb. how long before we admit that more/bigger is not always better. by the time you add all these dozens of convenience attachments, you end up with this unwieldy heavy awkward tool. which defeats the purpose of a compact tool. this is along the lines of our dumb giant trucks. yea it has a lot of "payload" but you cant get into the damn thing without a ladder. well they thought of that & added fold out steps or whatever. so you added a solution to a problem that you created by adding a "convenience" no one needed in the 1st place.
the powerboot is absolutely garbage and in fact a terrible idea. so these attach to a battery with double sided tape, so you will need one for each battery or only a single dedicated battery for each tool. but what happens when you need to charge that battery? then you need at least two of these for each tool. well then you need two sets of what ever you keep in it for each tool. not to mention i don't see how making a tool like these taller make it more stable. this makes each tool heavier and adds more fatigue while you use it and makes it bigger and harder to fit into small areas. you need two hand to be able to use this and you have to stop and open the bottom to access the bits so this doesn't save any time over say a tool belt and those can be customized and work with multiple tools. also what happens when that battery dies? I mean it's not really hard to peal it off and add some more double sided tape I guess. You know what would have been a better idea... a double sided mounting plate that you attach to each battery and then a container that attaches to those plates so you could just pop the container off throw the battery onto the charger grab a new batter and pop the container onto the new battery with the already installed mounting plate attached. So basically a bunch of cheap plastic flat bottom containers with flat lids that you double sided tape to the bottom of your batteries that you epoxy a few magnets into. about $5 on amazon DIY it your self have a better more usable product that's way cheaper.
April fools
That's a very handsome husband and wife team that runs Power Boot Tools, lol!!!
Neat idea, I'll likely get one for my bigger impact.
Oh, great, let's make them 2 or 3 times as heavy. My arthritic hands can't wait. Made for men , of course.
Hi Florence, PowerBoot weighs less than 8 ounces.
What about the stuff inside?
Not for me
Someone making $ try sell know why make tools heavier and larger
$10 off the set, not $30!
My mistake. Sorry.
@@731Woodworks well, the screen grab did say $30, jessem is being stingy about it bc even the $10 off preorder is only bc their reason is buying 3 individually would cost $10 more so that's why the price says save $10. Stupid reason and a terrible way to do business.
Were can I buy those power Boot

What size are the holes on the square? Can you use them as indexes to set an angle?
