"Funiculì, Funiculà" (IPA: [funikuˈli ffunikuˈla]) is a famous Neapolitan song composed in 1880 by Luigi Denza to lyrics by Peppino Turco. It was written to commemorate the opening of the first funicular cable car on Mount Vesuvius. It was presented by Turco and Denza at the Piedigrotta festival the same year. The sheet music was published by Ricordi and sold over a million copies within a year. It has been widely adapted and recorded since its publication.

Being italian I'm reliably informed they are in pure Italian, a little dated italian. The lyrics andrew saw are the original Neapolitan form (the most famous one).

In Sicilian there is no known f****n' version! If you want there is an online translator that can (almost) do the job, but here is how it sounds:

It seems the same but it's not, if a Sicilian would go speaking with me in dialect it would not be easy for me to understand, having a different timing and vocalisation. Now, if you learned that Italy is made 80% from Sicily it's your own problem, but spread false facts e ti mangio la mamma.
