I live in Denmark and the royal family is very cherished and loved here. I have not heard of this royal scandal and it doesn't sound like anything was proven. Its just made up gossip. Mary is a gem. Congratulations to them both!

He went to Paris with her and was seen in her apartment for 3 hours by himself, you figure it. He is handsome, wealthy, charming, and alone. What do you think happened???It didn't look good and he, because of his responsibilities and status should not have done this at all, he should have avoided it. How will his wife even know what the heck happened. That blonde was an old girlfriend, he should not have done it.

There is no scandal. Absolutely nothing was proven. Queen Margrethe would not abdicate to "save her son's marriage." That's just stupid. How would abdicating save his marriage anyway?

Exactly, he is aware of the paparazzi, the gossipmongers, the media in general and he was also in transit at one point with his daughter. Logically speaking he would have to be pushing a lot of barriers to be travelling with somebody perceived as the mistress. Then you have those who saw the photos and are not gullible, beg to differ on the score. We have all seen photos of bigfoot.

I read that crown prince Frederik was caught in the company of a woman who was not his wife. Princess Mary had consulted her attorney for a divorce. The Queen’s gesture was to make Mary Queen now. Rather than after she died. The excuse of the Queen’s back issues was just to safe face for crown prince Fredrik

See, its complicated. We are a democracy. But the monarchy is essentially the painting on the outside of this democracy. Whenever certain laws must go through, the King must sign them. Can the King say no to signing a law? No, he cant. Says so under paragraf 22. A law must be signed though by the King. So the King has essentially, no real power, yet he does. Its super weird. The only reason its still around is because its such a big part of danish history. So that part makes sense.

Joaquin is more regal, grounded and accomplished for a King. His children are also out into the world, fending for themselves, despite the humiliation they underwent coming from their own family. Joaquin and his children thrive. Frederick and his family look like the typical lazy royals with ghosts in the closet.

    • @k7u5r8t4

Joachim "grounded" and "thriving" ???? Who would not be "thriving", if they were paid near 50.000 dollars every month from the Danish State to perform their Royal Duties? And as for "grounded" Prince Joachim and his second wife Marie left the "ground" ( their gifted estate in Sønderjylland ) for the big city life in København, Paris and finally Washington DC. Prince Joachim lost a lot of his popularity in Danmark, when he left the part of the country ( border region to Germany ) , that historically holds the closest emotional relationship to the Danish Royal Family. In a 2023 survey he has 43% approval, Marie has 54%, Margrethe has 84%, Frederik has 84%, Mary has 85% and Christian has 74% approval/4% disapproval (Epinion).
