I'm SO glad they did this. This movie is SO underrated. It's a classic.
It sure is! Love this movie!
mgeek1 me too
TRULY Sir. It opened me to Afrikan Spirituality from the TWO TINY references to Orisha & Santeria, Voudoun, & Yoruba spirituality, and it opened MANY to that Spiritual Science, and basically, we are a people who are GRADUALLY coming HOME spiritually. And IF you don't know who Yemaya is, if you're not aware about the HISTORICAL significance of Santeria, Voudoun, or Yoruba Spiritual Science or spirituality if you're more comfortable WITH that, I HIGHLY suggest that you just try out our system of Divination, because it is a system of finding out about yourself and Olodumare (or GOD) himself, & trust me, it will be a LIFE CHANGING experience for you which will completely erase ALL fear of God, ANY fears you may have about "the enemy" or Satan, WHY? Because there IS no Satan outside of the evil one of you or Mankind or sections of mankind possess. Being that there is no Satan, there is no hell after death, Because SCIENTIFICALLY speaking, when you die, you're a corpse that feels NOTHING. So what about Afterlife? What about heaven for those of us who believe in God? Well, in IFA or the Yoruban Spiritual Science we believe in REINCARNATION into your descendants blood, there are PAST LIVES and we are reincarnated into FUTURE LIVES, the lives of our progeny. But I still am learning, so I have MUCH to study before masking myself as an expert on IFA so... carry on, & do the knowledge on Orisha like Yemaya. You will learn instead of FEARING God, you'll simply love & respect him even further than you did when you were practicing more popular religions which don't need to be named.
cultlike... I must have memorized all the lines in the movie...
Mgeek1 I agree this movie was before it's time but at the right time. I will watch this movie on a Saturday night like it was my first time. I always wished he'd do a part 2 but would it hold up. With the same characters I think so.
This movie had one of the best soundtracks! 🙏🏾
YESSSSSS
Pure truth!!
Yeah, I liked the Jazz they played throughout the movie and the Neo Soul
Yes it did
Totally, I'm a Jazz head too !!
This movie belongs on an elite list of greatest romantic movies of all time. Such a classic!! So glad to see it being honored like this.
Amen!
I absolutely 100% agree with Nia Long...we haven't seen another beautiful & brilliantly casted film since LOVE JONES
This movie was like a celebration , of that extremely rare and special romance , that we all cherish and desire !!!!
Yasssss!
@@karenmcgee1869 I feel like I just walked in the room and I can't keep my eyes off of you !!!!
@@bigemont why thank you!
@@karenmcgee1869 Your welcome !
still don't know why larenz tate isn't a leading man in hollywood
chris live Thank you. What you said! 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' was highly underrated!
To short
The brotha is dope. He should be a bigger star.
That's it. Too short. Black leading men are required to be tall.
@@jWeslo so true but its funny how they made tom cruise short ass a super star
He did so good for his first movie. That movie is beautiful. I love Lorenz & Nia together in it!
Miillie Mesh THAT'S NOT LARENZ TATE FIRST FILM
I was talking about Barry fool lol
Nia Long is absolutely right. We haven't seen a movie like Love Jones since.
For those of you shouting "Booty Call" and "Sprung,"...SHUT UP!
How Lorenz Tate look even better after all these years?! Okaaaay...I see you Frankie Lymon😎
yes he is handsome
Jasmine Bischof , He was good as Frankie Lymon, But😏....... Darius Lovehall!??!!…......Mr., " Brother Of The Night",😍..........He played that role so well, Mmm, Mmm, MMM!!!! & Yes Mam......Larenz is extra easy on the eyes 🔥🔥🔥!!!!!
Right Jasmine! lol. he is gorgeous
I was wondering where I remember him from! That's right! He did star as Frankie Lymon
I Love, Love, Love "love jones." I have it on VHS and DVD, plus the soundtrack on CD. The best film about black love to date (August 5, 2017). Also one of the best soundtracks. I think I'll watch it later today.
MissLiveLaughLove1 I just watched it yesterday It had me swooning and smiling like a teenager.
Such a beautiful film 😫😫😍😍
wow
MissLiveLaughLove1 even more than love and basketball?
Me too!!!😂
I have seen this movie a thousand times. And I still get excited when Dionne Farris song starts the movie off. This is the definition of a Netflix and chill movie. If anyone can explain why this movie is Still as popular, please share!!
Jason Byrd To answer your question, Nia said it best, "we haven't seen a film like it since." Love Jones is in a class by itself.
Jason Byrd...because it was not only the soundtrack of our day...it played our lives out on screen, in roles we had yet to experience until they showed us... Love Jones is as important to the X Generation as Hip Hop & Gospel. Its the epitome of a generation that wasn't being portrayed. It was the the flip side to Boyz in da Hood like Hip Hop is the flip to Gospel. All of these stories were our truth...and these "story tellers" told it in EXCELLENCE!
It’s raw realness showing how beautiful black love really is...my #1 go to fav movie
Tina Cowar, so eloquently stated!! It was extremely refreshing for me (as an early 20 something back then ) to see so much of our perspective being reflected on the big screen. And also, black love being unapologetically displayed with such brilliance- the epitome of absolute black excellence!!!
Hopeless like a penny wit a hole in it, yesss
One of my all-time favorite movies! Such a classy movie with terrific black actors and actresses. I’m so proud of Love Jones!
This movie is EPIC! The don't make them like this!
Very much so, beautiful people and romantic. And I always liked Lisa Nicole Carson....cult classic
My favourite scene is the dancing at the reggae gig. So beautiful.
The PHOTOGRAPH was good too, but that's recent.
nia long is sooooo pretty omg i love her
Love Jones, will always be my best movie of all times. Best sound track. I loved everything about it.🙌❤❤❤
Man they both still look so good. Good bless this melanin magic 👏🏾
Love Jones helped me understand my manhood as a young brother!!!! My sons will watch this movie so they can understand the love we share as men and know what it's like to be loved by a great woman!!!!
Nia Long is so iconic
Did I point out that they considered Jada Pinkett-Smith for the role of Nina Mosley? Thank God for Nia Long!!!
They've all aged in reversed!!
This movie is a Classic!.. Still watching in 2022!
Lorenez Tate looks EXACTLY the same. These are all some beautiful people 😀😍
This is one of my favorite movies. I loved that Black Love was represented in such a beautiful and loving way...It is a classic in my opinion. xoxo
Best romantic film of all time!
You cannot teach, direct or hope to create chemistry. It's either there or it isn't and Larenz and Nina had it and even in this reunion it's still oozes out of both of them. I've seen a film called "it Happened One Night" with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert made in 1934 and it never gets old and I feel the exact same way about Love Jones.
Jada Pinkett-Smith actually "competed" for the role of Nina Mosley...And got her ass waxed by Nia Long in the audition/screen test. They made the right call.
Great director. He made a classic on the first try. Wish their were more movies like this. Black 90's movies just had an authentic feel.
My favorite love story! I’ve seen it so many times and it still gets my heart every time. Definitely iconic. Still crushing on Lorenz - want to see him in more movies. So underrated as an actor.
The best classic movie ever I need some love like this
This Film Didn't Do Well When It First Came Out. A lot of people didn't go see it and support. This could have been the film to get Nia And Larenz an Oscar but the lack of support on this project is why this movie fail to reach higher success. I actually remember this Film when I was younger but I remember being in second grade and Brown Sugar was out. Love Jones Is being Honored but it didn't get enough recognition it deserve.....
Jason Carter Brown Sugar came out in 2002. Love Jones came out in 1997.
Foxy Sharpe an Oscar? An Oscar...
This is a Classic. Especially within our Community. An Oscar has Never been and will Never be Needed for this masterpiece. Period.

My favorite movie ever... I love ya'll
Glad This Movie Was Finally On Netflix. My Generation Needed This.
It wasn't luck it soo was meant to be. I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND EVERYBODY IN THE CAST!! ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES...
My ALL-TIME-FAVORITE!... I wish I could have been in the room. WOW.... Good to see all the playas and playettes.......
This is one of the best movies ever! Classic and timeless. Thank you
Great movie, absolutely phenomenal soundtrack. Proud to say I saw this in the theaters which made buying the cd soundtrack a must. Truly a cultural cinematic gem for the ages.
so glad they shouted Robi Reed out. That woman does her job and does it WELL. Legend.
We need another one 😊.
Wayne Kennedy DJ kali.
NO...LOVE JONES is a CLASSIC
and Classics should be left ALONE .
It's another video on CZcams that says jada pinkett suppose to play Nina, but I'm glad she didn't cause she probably wouldn't of played it better then Nia Long sorry jada.
God used Love Jones to change my life in the most unexpected and beautiful way!!! Thank you Nia Long, Larenz Tate, and all those responsible for this perfect gift to our world. My world has NEVER been the same...our generation has been forever changed as well! LOVE JONES..WOW!!!
If People didn't see this Movie then they missed out. Has it really been 20 years? This Movie is so fresh in my mind as if it was just a few short years ago. So many Good Looking Black Men and Women in this Movie. Why hadn't there been any Black Movies since Love Jones? I'm doing my Part, I'm putting pen to paper and started writing my own, original screen play.
The movie is a definite classic I will always love it and I’ll watch it again and again and again 💗love wins
One of my favorite movies of all time!

Love Jones is still one of my favorite movies 🎬 🎞 🎥 ❤😊
They need to do this for Dead Presidents, love that film.
Literally my favorite movie 💕
They don't age and they all look great.
Love Jones is my favorite movie of all times!!!!!!
Still presently my favorite!!!
i fell in love with nia long from this movie, she was so real ! and my man larenz and my boy bill bellamy were awesome, and the whole cast seemed to vibe and the chicago flavor set it off! True classic still watching it 2021!

One of my favorites why can't we have more like this?
I agree that the movie is a classic . The presence of a beautiful lady and handsome black actors on the big screen was impressive. I wouldn't mind watching it again. (MphoS)
wonderful movie and soundtrack
I watch "Love Jones" on DVD at least 6 times a year. Now, there's another beautiful black love story movie called "The Photograph" with Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield. You won't be disappointed.
yesss I love "The photograph" 🥺
This was a special night to be a part of. 🙏🏾
You better tell the truth Nia. My favorite movie of all time ❤❤
My absolute favorite movie ever! #Blacklove
Where is this !!!!!! Man I love this please tell me a sequel is on the way!!!💯🙌🏾 CLASSIC movie at its BEST!!!!
Yes!!! We need a sequel and it would kill in the box office!
Or at least a series 🤷🏾♀️💯👏🏾
Thank you for posting this panel interview of movie Love Jones Crew and cast. And actress Nia Long (one of my celebrity birthday twins) and actor Larenz Tate's work chemistry is excellent! Date Stamp: 11sept21
LOVE JONES CLASSIC BLACK CINEMA AND ROMANTIC
Definitely before it's time and NOW it's a MUST HAVE for setting the bar for flirting and forgiveness. I'm glad this movie wasn't duplicated or sequeled.
Saw on the big screen in NY. Loved it.
They were great.
My favorite all time film. It was the first time I saw a full love story on the big screen and I could see myself.
This is a classic love story movie. A movie of color with strong Black characters. Will always be in my top 10 movies
Please note,
Larenz STILL MARRIED 🔥
Love Jones is my favorite movie ❤
Nia Long is in that same category as Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horn, Diahann Caroll, and Halle Berry! Fine ASF!
A Classic!
My favorite movie everrrrrrrrrrrrr ❤️
“We haven’t seen a film like this since” !!!!!!!
7:08 Nia relates to the character Nina the most of all her roles
This man this man😍
My favorite movie! Absolutely the best movie ever! 🙏🏾👍🏽
Such a classic movie. Nia is right, it was before it's time. The only thing I wish they had done differently is change the parts where Darius and Nia use fowl language with each other. And my goodness, Laurenz Tate is such a good-looking man! He should have made the cover of People Magazine's sexiest man alive. Bill Bellamy is also a very handsome man!
I think what makes Love Jones so good. We all had that one relationship like magical
And you did a fantastic job
larenz went from Drew to Odawg to Darius. Let’s not forget about The Inkwell in 94
Why he never took off... when clowns like Rock and others getting movies
Dong forget dead presidents
Larenz Tate is AWESOME; he’s a great guy and I like Nia Long but I wish that they would have talked to the other cast members and showed their faces up close and given them an opportunity to speak.
this is a clip of a complete walk through the cast.
Nia Long hit in something profound, but simply true. We haven't seen a movie like Love Jones since then. Sad, but true!
BEST MOVIE EVER !!!
Nia’s last statement though 😌
This is One my favorite movies
It shares the Top Spot with
Lord of War
We have a writer right now out there somewhere working on another masterpiece of this era having been inspired by this extraordinary masterpiece. Netflix and chill w Love Jones and you are almost guaranteed a rewarding outcome.
I would've been absolutely awesome , to have a Donny Hathaway type of spirited song , to have an affect on the movie !
Abiodun Babashola You are absolutely right. His music should have been apart of this film. Certain scenes would have been perfect for Donny Hathaway music to be played.
I agree, we haven't seen a movie like this in a long time.... amd I believe because this movie set the standard, the tone for all to follow and if someone decided to step and make one similar they better come correct.
I watched this at the theater on my 21st birthday
FACTS Nia!!! Facts.
It was before its time
This movie is so important to me
Love Jones!!
2019 and I feel that we have do not have a movie like this 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 if I’m wrong I hope someone points me in the right direction
Timeless movie so many of the 90s films lived and died in those times, but this is one that will remain cinematic up to now. Glad I was able to see it in the theatre back then and still watching it in 2020. Larenz Tate, Isaiah Washington, Khalil Kain all played thugs with guns, thieves, or bad guys in Hollywood, but this film cast them as educated men in meaningful relationships with afrocentric women... that was the key difference for me... how we imagine ourselves on film is important in cinema.
Whose watching in 2021
