    Good to see you again, sir.
    I have a couple of questions regarding my workout if you have the time to help out.
    Every other day, I put on a pair of boxing gloves and use the punching bag (12 3-minute rounds of standing in front of the bag, 90-second rest between rounds) while wearing a weighted vest. I have been doing this particular workout for a few months now. Do you think the weighted vest is a good idea or not?
    I am also trying out time-restricted eating, specifically no eating after 6 PM, which is about one hour before my workout. Have you tried this kind of dieting before and do you think this can work well along with my current workout?
    I'd love to hear back soon, thank you very much.

      Mike A: A LONG GUARD. Front hand extended to judge range and use as a "FIRST CONTACT" point (grabbing opponent with the extended arm). I do have one warning though: If you at least develop SOME hands, your entries will be easier because the man in front of you will have more to be concerned with.

Not only has this “ Woke “ society gotten soft, but have degraded the very essence of true men. I am 63, and still take fitness as part of my regimen for life. Sparing is also a part of it ( when time is allowed ) mostly archery, hiking, and mental upkeep. Thank you for yet another uplifting post 😎😇🙏🥊🥊🥊👍

    • @Kaledrone

      60 actually, you can look it up, his last fight was recorded at sixty, not fifty. So he fought for even longer.

    • @Kaledrone
      @Kaledrone Před 2 lety +2

      And even after 60, he continued to fight in exhibitions until his unfortunate death. Another example is also Jem Mace, that man kept fighting professionally into his 60s and then fought exhibitions until his death, his last recorded entry in the ring was at 78 years old. I am sure Jack Johnson would have done the same if he didn't die so soon in that unfortunate car accident.

      @@Kaledrone Yep the real problem is that factory that made them type of men don't make them that common anymore so young people have no idea .

    • @Kaledrone
      @Kaledrone Před 2 lety +3

      @@daboxingscholar Correct, young men don't have any good older role models anymore, I saw this growing up. All the older men just kept letting themselves go once they hit 40 or something thinking they are past it. And once they let themselves go and gave up all athletic pursuits, they became weak, fat, out of condition. They basically caused their own physical downfall by giving up on athletics, but then they just simply blamed their age for the downfall instead of their lifestyle as if it's supposed to be just "natural". Couldn't fight anymore, couldn't lift anymore, couldn't do anything physical anymore.
      And because of the amount of older men in today's society who just let themselves go, young men are just going to think that's "natural" and also let themselves go as well once they hit a certain age having no inspiration or motivation to look up to in order to continue anymore.
      We have examples from the past that prove that it's possible to remain in great shape into old age. Bodybuilders like Otto Arco remained in great physical condition well into his older years, and this man lived long before steroids, so we can be sure he was completely natural too. Boxers like Jack Johnson and Jem Mace also stayed active into their older years. You sometimes see that in modern boxers too, in the George Foremans and the Larry Holmes, while not to the extent Jackson or Mace did, Foreman and Holmes were still active into the age that would be considered "old" by western standards.
      But none of the younger men know about any of this. I don't think most of them have ever even heard of Jack Johnson or Jem Mace. As I said before, most of these young guys have zero "old man" role models, most of them think that once you are 40 or something you are past it and are just supposed to give up and wait for death, that is a very sad mindset and sad way to live, and it annoys me a lot to see people fall into that belief system.
      Society is in desperate need of older role models and western society is not helping with that at all by calling people "old" once they hit 40 and saying they are of no use anymore.

    What intensity of sparring to you typically adhere to? I ask in the context of research showing that fighters tend to accumulate more and most damage out of the ring - via hard prolonged sparring.
    Also do you have any concerns about CTE, what do you do to ensure your safety and the safety of yourself and your students in the context of sparring.
    Maybe you can do a whole video on this.
    I'm a supporter of your channel, and a self defence and martial arts enthusiast, thought I wouldn't class myself as anything special. If anything, I am adverse to getting injured based on the severe beatings and injuries I've seen and known of since the age of 9.
    I work as a doorman so safety and protection are things always at the forefront of my mind. I also work with and have come across many guys who have lifelong niggles and injuries due to martial arts.

      My students were just talking about my teaching methods 2 days ago! 1) I PERSONALLY MONITOR ALL SPARRING! I TELL THEM TO BRING IT DOWN IF NEED BE. They go just hard enough to learn. About 50%.
      2) I use HEAVY PAD WORK for power training. Then they strike 100%. If you are not hitting SOMETHING 100%, it is NOT self defense.
      3) MOST fighters DO NOT suffer severe or noticeable brain damage! MORE damage is done by smoking marijuana.
