Telling Everyone Really Reading: *YES!*
Wow. I got a shoutout in a Book Launchers video. I'm honored.
I like the point about discipline. I'm all for inspiration, but that only really comes when you make room for it daily and that means being disciplined.
It's also really important that people understand that book sales are but one way to earn money with a book. Some people seem to think that books are widgets, when they're really a depository for ideas. Ideas that can, and should, be expanded into many formats that can be monetized.
I know I learned that here! ;)
I’m working on the last chapter of my first draft as I’m listening to this video. I couldn’t have come this far if I hadn’t sign on to Book Launchers. Julie’s videos and the company’s on-going deep dive meetings have taught me about everything from book cover design, creating professional presentations, to choosing fonts for book titles. Best of all, I discovered I really enjoy writing character descriptions which has helped with my social media postings. I started my book writing venture at 71 for a cognitive exercise rather than a money making venture. I’m surprised just by the fact I’m in the process of writing a book, my opportunity for speaking engagements has increased.

Discipline is needed in all of life. Sadly, we put too much on emphasis on motivation and feelings. Wish I would have learned that when I was much younger

My first book will be ready to be published in June and for months I've been telling my husband my goal is to break even so I don't feel bad about publishing another. I guess it's time to shift that thought.

I’ve heard that you should think of writing a book like it’s a job. While this may be true, this thought hasn’t ever worked for me. I feel it sucks the joy out of the process.
The mindset presented here, however, is more positive and motivating! It speaks more on the writer’s level. :-)

fwiw my ideal reader is a Chinese law student, she''s aged 18-25, 30 tops and yeah you want to be VERY specific in figuring out who YOUR reader is. She's probably single, very likely hasn't had a child yet, either speaks or is learning Chinese lives anywhere on earth.
