  • This video provides an ideal introduction to Pendon Museum, it's Heritage Dioramas and how they do bring the past to life. If you follow us online or would like to visit us, this is an ideal place to begin your journey into the past.
We really hope you enjoy the experience and thank you for your support as we show many generations how life really was back in the 1920s and 30s.

Fantastic museum, absolutely stunning modelling, I have also visited Miniatur wunderland in Hamburg but found Pendon to be a far more impressive feat!

Thank you so much for your informative and very enjoyable description of British railways service back in the day. As a “Yank” I’ve always been fascinated by British trains. Having rode a couple back in 1971 on a wonderful trip to your fair land. Hoping to return soon!

Glad to see that your impeccable model viaduct still exists - I remember seeing it in 1960's issues of 'Railway Modeller' magazine, when I was a kid, and it blew my mind. Simply astonishing work! 👍👍👍

Many thanks for your kind comment Brian, it’s great that you are still following us after all this time.
Yes the viaduct is still enthralling visitors today. Maybe we will see you in the museum one day and you can see the whole of the Dartmoor and Seawall Diorama along with the rest of the hand crafted Pendon models? It really is the past coming to life in miniature.

Bloody Hell, I thought my Autistic built model railway was perfect. Looks like I have to blow more money on grass and line weathering. Awesome stuff, I will console myself with I built mine on my own. Keep up the fantastic work

Thank you for your comment. The Diorama is the size of a tennis court and has taken many decades to build (and is still being added to today). We rely on the great skills of volunteer modellers who have collectively produced what you see and enjoy in our videos.

I did visit with a group back when the Vale was under construction. Now live in the US, so not much chance of a revisit anytime soon.
