False bans don't happen with EAC, in fact bans don't happen near enough with it. Dude cheated and got what he had coming to him.
This happened to me on February 28th. I was in the middle of a 6.7 naval RB match using my Aoba cruiser, then the ban message suddenly appeared, after that I got taken straight to login screen, tried login and the ban notice showed up with the same reason as Johan. I was also banned for "Unsporting Behavior" followed by the moderator's comment that literally said I have violated paragraph 3.2.3 of the EULA, which basically means I use a mod that grants me unfair advantage over other players. This is baffling to me to be honest, I have been playing this game since 2014 and I've never expected this to happen to me. I never have any intentions to cheat or hack this game to ruin other people's experience in the first place, personally I despise legit cheaters.
Speaking of mods, I do use user sights, user skins, and sound mods, most of which are from WT Live, and I made some custom mods for myself to get better immersion like copying the user sights of BMP-1 I've downloaded from WT Live for my ZBD86 which is basically the same tank, and I also changed the announcer voice language a while ago without changing the game language, other than that I don't tamper with the game files, as of the time of the ban I already deactivated the sound mods since January, but I didn't remove the sound mod files from the sound mod folder (My bad for not removing it). I have been doing this since 2020 and it didn't get me banned, so this ban took me by surprise, I doubt it has anything to do with my custom mods.
My best bet is that my ban may probably be caused by people mass reporting me for destroying enemy team in naval battles using my USS Moffett and Japanese cruisers which I really excel at using, but that's just my speculation, Gaijin doesn't want to tell the exact reason for fear of having cheaters learn their mistakes, which is understandable, but this is unacceptable for false positive bans like me, like what others said in the comments, I got convicted for an offence unknown to me, So I still maintain the position that I am innocent in this case.
My username is GehardeAfrikaner, feel free to watch my replays, I don't cheat nor hack, and my replays can prove that. You are entitled to your opinion whether you trust me or not. Support stonewalled me with the "your case is proven but we can't tell you why" reply when I try to appeal, and GMs cannot help me because they are volunteers that only deal with chat bans (take note of that fellow false ban victims), I've also tried appealing to EAC but they haven't responded to my appeal since March 2nd, so I am left with no choice other than telling my story to people in hopes that Gaijin might take a look at my case.

Take an addicted player who has spent on all the things they want.. they stop spending.
Ban them and the worst that happens is they still stop spending (stop playing) the best is they make an alt and start spending again.

To be fair it makes sense, in the circumstances where it does work correctly, why should you return money that a cheater has legally spent? He knew the rules. For cases when it's an accident it hurts.
This is why I never spend money on online games. They can go away at any time for so many reasons. I'm I think 2-3 years into playing, I got a premium for a bit but didn't renew it. I play casually and do just fine without it. I shoot, stuff blows up.
(While I won't spend money on the game...I DID buy a nice 3080 rig last year so I can enjoy it fully.😉)

I've been a mod on various servers ranging from Rust to Garry's Mod: TTT for years and doing so I've become fairly good at sussing out whether or not someone is lying. I gotta say that this guy sounds genuine, he doesn't really peg me as the type that would cheat. In addition, I played War Thunder for 5 years prior to quitting last year and at this point I'm glad that I quit. The complete and utter disregard that Gaijin shows for the community is disgusting. The constant nerfs to eagles and research points earned, the constant increases in repair costs making it virtually impossible to use your favorite vehicles, and now apparently banning random innocent players and showing not a care in the world to fix their wrongs. I was considering getting into playing Enlisted, but after this whole shitshow, I think I'm done with Gaijin for good.
Well I was recently banned as well. I don't even know why. 8 years playing. I'm still trying to get it back via support but.... but I tell you I will never go back to any game from these gaijin if they don't restore my account. No point in doing so. My friends even asked me to join in Enlisted. Not now that's for sure.
I remember seeing this on Reddit. And I went thru all the things that could be a possibility even looking thru replays recently and can’t find anything. Why does this seem like a repeat of that false ban a couple of years ago ?

As a veteran as well (almost 7 years), this has been one of my worst fears, getting banned for no reason and always stays in the back of my mind giving me chills as I have dedicated sweat, tears and money in this game that I really enjoy playing. Hope people with these kind of problems find a solution and I hope no more people have to go through stupid stuff like this.
Havent spent more than 100$ cad and dont think i will, might pick up the a-10 with money if i dont have the time to grind now that im getting into highschool next year…

@@thecowgod2575 I could turn it off tomorrow and do something else. I have very little money invested though. When someone gets banned they should be told exactly why and given a recourse to appeal. That's the minimal standard that should be afforded a paying member. I get killed in some very strange circumstances myself from time to time so I'm pretty sure cheating is happening on war thunder but frankly war thunders manipulation of the game to me is worse than the few cheaters I run into..

I got the same issue. I got permanently banned yesterday because of unsupporting behavior. I've been playing this game since I was in college (more like 6 years ago). I have more than a thousand hours of gameplay and been logging everyday to get daily rewards and use them everyday.
I never opened any files or downloaded any content about war thunder. I didn't cheat in any games (That is my sense of achievement, completing a game without cheating).
It's really sad to see I got permanently banned for no reason at all. I have invested a quite amount of money in this game been grinding it hardly as I could. Imagine 6 years of gameplay and I am still in BR 7.3.
I invited many people in this game. Schoolmate, Friends, Girlfriend, Father, Brother, Niece. I played this game with my friends and family. So everyone is hoping to play with me again especially my father, brother and niece. Also my 2 year old niece is very happy every time I play this game. This consumed most of my time in the past 6 years.

I've had my account for nearly as long and experienced something similar when maybe a year ago my steam account got hacked (was too stupid/lazy to get 2FA), for about 48 hours I was constantly checking my e-mail to see if I'll get it back, and thankfully I did, I quite honestly can't imagine loosing it again now that I've put even more time into it. I wish him the best of luck, and hope that Gaijin can sort their stuff out with theese most likely false bans.

My steam was also hacked years back before I started playing war thunder I lost everything I had on dead by daylight, gta v, and csgo I was devastated
Not my Steam but my Origin account was hacked.
The Hacker even made a new account with my old username so if I tried to reset the password, it would do it for the empty new account.
Only reason I found out what happened, was because my Origin account was made durinf my Xbox live days on console, and I was able to log into my account through the Xbox portal.
And no shit, my games were all there. Friends list had everyone blocked. And my user name was changed.
Had to wait 3 days before EA would give me back my account.

This is absolutely horrifying that it could happen to anyone at any point. I can't imagine losing my account overnight. I feel like the only solution would be to threaten them with legal action if they don't review their decision. Probably worth it for an account that's worth over 2000 dollars...

There is no point in punishing someone without explaining to them what they did wrong, this only festers anger and resentment as they will have no sense of guilt or wrongdoing and will be left to ponder what they might have done wrong while not learning anything which might help them do better in the future.
I can liken this to spraying your cat with a water gun in order to punish it for breaking your favourite cup but waiting a several of hours between when the incident occurred and when you decide to carry out repercussions, the cat will not attribute it being sprayed to what it did wrong and simply think you are belittling it for fun or something unrelated and your message will not get across.
Your right but the vast majority of people to not take on inoscens first point of view.
Meaning that in Gaijins eyes they are banning hackers, these people are like criminals and they are being removed precisely because they are the type of person who will not change unless they get a lot of effort invested into them.
So telling them what they did wrong only gives out information on how they got caught to allow other hackers in.
This is essentially a mindset of we caught the criminals and they got what they deserve there is 0 consideration for a wrongly accused innocent, and there is no mentality of it would be better to protect and help the innocent even if it allows a larger number of criminals/bad actors.

Game companies in general should be forced to show the exact reason and their proof for anyone getting especially perma banned (or account resets in some games that do that). Frankly there should be legislation for it.
Its ridiculously unfair to be randomly banned and have no one even tell you WHY, regardless of whether the ban was deserved or not.
They said he broke the TOS by using 3r party stuff. No supports for any game tell the whole story. I am not saying it is true or not that he did but consider if they tell you what and how, you can learn to defeat the system that checks. I have been banned by D2R after playing D2 for decades. I lost the entire Bliz account and they told me the same that is this company told him. I had about 5 Blizzard games on the account. I mean I was upset but it is perhaps for the best. I spent too much time playing it and they broke my addition for good. I do have another bliz account and a friend got the game for me again. Just I do not feel like investing time in it anymore. Sometimes false positives get over turned. Not of all of us though. I got my entire account banned too, so whatever they think I did must have been pretty bad. I mean I still want folks to catch cheaters. Just sucks when they think you are one of them and ban your thousands of hours of work.
If he was hacking (likely) then they do not want to tip him off on which hack they detected in any way as it would just guarantee the creators of the hack update it.

I played War Thunder for almost 2 years now, the first on my xbox, the second on my computer. I logged into War Thunder one day and I found out I got 7 complaints about something that I don't know of what I did to get those. But it was something I didn't worry about after a couple of days, But 7 years of progress just gone. Hard to come back after that. Hope your doing well Johan

They locked my 10 year old sons account. We had just bought a pack for like $30 and the tank disappeared so we contacted support and asked why the tank was gone and they replied with a cryptic response saying it was a fraud. It wasn’t even proper English. We tried to get more details but they wouldn’t answer. Anyway, my son quit playing which means no more more money for them.

This is really frightening for me. I am almost 57 and not at all computer literate. My adult son has to help me with basic computer stuff and even some apps on my cell. I couldn't hack an account if my life depended on it. War thunder is the only game I play, and I have over 14,000 hours over something like nine years. If they decide to ban me, I wouldn't even know how to protest.
All companies, especially of free games have a ticket system. Ive even gotten myself banned for a nonsense reason on a 6 year old game and the support was still active and helped me. The game in guestion was DS3.
It just seems that gaijin is kinda incompetent at customer support.

You’d be surprised how easy it is. If you know how to use google. Download a program and install it. That’s all it takes. Using jacks doesn’t require you to be smart. It actually requires you to be an idiot. The game has anti-cheat. You’re going to be caught soon or later. It’s only a matter of time.

I honestly try to get the discords of my in gmae friends ASAP in those games to increase coordination. This is especially true in WT. That part wont be as much of a problem for me. Honestly I wouldnt mind being banned since I have been trying to quit my addiction to it for over a year, adn I successfully did it for the first 6 months of 2021. The issue is of course, there is no alternative...for now.

@@alphanomad511 I currently have 10.7 Germany and 9.3 Soviets, along with 7.7 America and 7.0 Britain(tanks), plus 9.7 Germany, 8.3 America, 5.7 Britain and 5.7 Japan(and 4.0 Soviets) for planes. I also just researched my first BB. I want to quit, but I think the better option would be to try to teach myself better self control, so I can play in a healthy way that doesnt affect my life too much. Otherwise I would be happy to give you my account.
This is so sad, people like Johan gets banned for no reason, and then the support etc never wants to help. I saw his original post on reddit, and decided to try and see if he was cheating or not, I never found evidence of it in the replays. He didn't notice enemies that were right next to him, or enemies marked by his team-mates, or that were shooting his team-mates. He wasn't watching enemies through walls or terrain, he wasn't hitting cross-maps snipes or shooting through pixel wide gaps like you'd expect a cheater to do. I found no evidence or indication at all that he was cheating. Granted I only checked a handful of replays, but never the less, I'm confident in saying he never cheated.
Can you do me a favor and check out my replays? I have been playing for 8.5 years and I have been banned one week ago. I spent well over 3000 euros on it. Concerning sniping , if proper tank maps are available, i try to snipe long range. I play AB exclusively so 2-3+ km kills in mid to high tier (especially high tier) is a common thing for me. I have playing like this for years. Most of my major crews are expert level or ace level. Also , 2 weeks prior to my ban I was playing low to mid tier primarily . most of which were close to medium range. Anyway, i would really appreciate if you could check my replays for "cheating". Screen name: Laviduce, Game Mode: Arcade Battles ground, Vehicle: tank(s) if you can get another person to check my replays for "cheating" i would appreciate it. On a side note , i also use my minimap to stay situationally aware. It seems a lot of people do not seem to care about the minimap.

Also faced with this problem. To suffer so much at the Japanese, barely reach 8.3, and then with grief to learn that you were unjustly banned. It's a pity I spent a lot of money, time and memories, it's very difficult for me to start all over again. The War Thunder administration has severely damaged its reputation for me personally. In fact, it's good that I'm not alone, maybe someday they'll lose players. But I do not give up and hope to restore the account, doing everything possible to do so

I feel so bad for him, it’s been one of my biggest fears of mine as I realize that War Thunder is one of my favorite things in life. and we’ve spent so much money and put so much time into the game, and the music is always stuck in my head, the joy I have gotten from this game is unmatched. The cinematics I’ve seen along with epic
moments with friends, make me truly love it. honestly if I ever get banned, I wouldn’t even wanna play any combat related games anymore, because it would remind me of it. I really hope I don’t get banned, I don’t even cheat. I would just sell my PC.
Old Guard/Gold Veteran here: Not giving WT any more money EVER "unless they change". They have gone downhill in the last few years and I compare them to EA. Constant 90% uptiers, chat ban, the ridiculous grind, same old maps without a change, more and more conquest map, and now banning people without evidence/proof and running a player to the ground. The game was fun at one time, the game is just not fun anymore. Would rather play Wart Hunter with my grandpa. Can't wait for a different simulator game from some other gaming company.

i been playing WT since 2014 and honestly been lately losing interest in warthunder i used to play for days on end now i usually play for sometimes 5 hours.. heck even 1 match and ill just go do something else. been enjoying subnautica even though on a 60inch tv it scares the hell out of me most times but love the graphics..
@@ApokalyptikNM hm, i mostly load italian C205 or german Fw190 A1 and go on Tier II SIM, EC usually has around 10+ people on each side, flying with C205 is pure enjoymnent as it has the engine of messerschmitt G2 on Tier II and the Fw 190 has great armament and big engine aswell for this tier.. I often face up the swedish twin engine J2-something or I've notived USA premium Japanese Ki-60-something Hien that has pretty ok engine and high climb rate too, every aerial victory is pure joy and i wait for every evening to get high into the skies
War Thunder isn't a simulator you goober lmao 😂 Just start playing Il2 Great Battles, way more fun and rewarding. Plus it has the benefit of actually being a simulator
Man I cannot imagine how much pain he is going through. I almost have 10k hours on steam and almost 20,000 battles and I have grinded to top tier in all nations tanks and jets some helicopters for every nation but Italy and China. If I feel I was unjustly banned Id be furious.

@@Aurora-jv8ce depends what modes you play, if you compare sim to rb sim can take up to 4x longer, also back in the day rb battles could last up to 2 hours

Honestly in another game I got a pretty bad situation. I can't recall what my security questions are, the email I used was from operamail and that's no longer around. So I'm just stuck changing my password on an account made back In 2006 or so. Support is all done by a robot so I can't even reach out. And that game is runescape. I'm just lucky my other stuff is on a much better email account such as my Hotmail (Hotmail is now fast mail)or my Gmail so my world of tanks, world of warship, and warthunder accounts are safe from my runescape accounts fate with updating the email.

Wait, haven't i seen a video just like this of (another) guy that got falsely banned because the enemy couldn't see his tank shooting from behind the (very buggy) snow terrain? I swear i saw it. This is really sad, this type of thing must be happening to a lot of innocent players that get banned because salty enemies report and falsely accuse them.
I also have a friend which got banned for no reason, I have been playing with him for ages and he never used any cheats, his stats were also average and had no spikes (yes even though he was my friend I checked). It was also quite recent, about a month ago (a little less) he had played the game for 8 years.

As someone who has played this game for a couple of years I see no harm in buying premiums given that it's a f2p game (me personally) I just buy a year's worth of premium time at Xmas when not only is the cost of premium time 50% but the cost of the ge is also 50% as for vehicles I buy one like every 6 months usually when I'm grinding a tech tree to skip ranks 1-3

I started this game in 2021 but wanted to play it while it was still good years ago. Booted it up on my pc and got a few good matches until reality struck. I also had little time to play it due to having lots of things to do. Ever since that, I treat it as more of a casual game since it does affect one's well being with its scummy marketing strategies and terribly made game mechanics. I offer my prayers in hope the poor guy can get his account back.

I've only just started player war thunder-like end of 2021 and I've made so many new friends in the community seeing someone who has put so much time into a game only for it to be erased is heartbreaking and horribly to see.
Gaijin you need to sort this stuff out now before it affects other players.

It's pretty sad that this player lost his progress, but at least now he can pursue things outside of gaming because he was addicted and probably wouldn't have stopped any way else.

I have been playing world of tanks for 7 years as well (since 2015) and I can't imagine what this must feel like, other than that feeling that you just did all that for almost nothing, or that you will never get to experience this again. I feel very sorry for this player and I hope this never happens to me or anyone else in any video game unless they are actually and genuinely cheating

4000 hours on my account, if I got banned from it I know I'd be a mess for weeks. I played since before the ground beta and have a whole bunch of planes/tanks with camo patterns from before I started university. I'd be out all of those memories. RIP this man, Gaijin never seems to listen to its players.
this has happened to me as well. CaptWAR was my account and it was just randomly banned a few years ago for absolutely no reason

Gaijin has a very unforgiving "we have the power, we make the rules, obey or leave- we don't care" attitude. They could make ten times their revenue, but are too blockheaded to see how their policies creates enormous amounts of badwill.

Reminds me of how I got banned from The Division 2. Zero warning, perma ban with my "appeal" i.e. asking what even happened being auto rejected within the day and linked to an article about Rainbow Six Seige game etiquette. So much time, effort and money all gone. Never used the in game chat, always played PvE with a friend or doing raids. Very much was an average to above average player. Even if Ubisoft took their head from their ass and unbanned me I wouldn't come back. They already spit in my face once, not gonna have it happen again.

Banning random people while leaving toxic players, teamkillers and hackers at large in the game (Looking at you West Taiwanese). I'm not banned, but seeing how fucked up this game is made me stopped playing it. Good thing I didn't spend much into the game. I'd rather spend the rest of my free time on grinding an 8 year old Japanese card game than this.

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if Gaijin knows about this and is just ignoring it. For all those people who had this issue, and just made accounts, they probably spent money again. as a 7 1/2 year veteran my self, i would immediately have severed any ties with Gaijin. i love em' but they make a lot of stupid calls and this would push me over the edge. I wish you the best in your endeavors and at the least you should be entitled to a full refund of the money you spent.

recently there has been a lot of unjustified bans and most of them from veteran accounts
the fact that Gaijin hasn't adressed this in any way or at least even tried to recover the banned accounts is kinda leding me to think it's not an accident
take it with a boulder of salt but knowing what they have done in the past it's not crazy to think they are banning veteran players because they know they will want to come back and to regain the progress faster they will buy premium

Your account can be banned the same way, doesn't matter what platform you on.
This has nothing to do with console.
Every single game you play on console has an account, and IP and a MAC, you can be banned just the same from any game.

Been playing for four years now, and after seeing situations like this, I'm always thinking to myself; I know for a fact people false report all the time. People who teamkill and blame you, people who have no context for something and assume you're cheating, people who see some weird lucky/unlucky bullshit happen in the game and report you for it, stuff like that. I got a warning about several people reporting me once, and I'm just sat there like, well that's fucking concerning. What happens when enough people do that? I just get auto-banned? Would there even be an appeal process for that? What if my historical gun sights become "cheating" someday and I forget to clear out some files? What about sound mods? That's already been tossed around, what if those become "cheating" again?
When you get too many reports usually you will just get a 7 or 30 day chat ban, or a 1 day ban. Worst I ever got was a 5 day ban for teamkilling accidentally in sim battles.
For me these is somewhat good.
For me that's a restart for him. For him, to leave this horrible, greedy and wasteful game.

I lost my account on World of tanks and they asked me for a stupid evidence so i just let it be and jumped on warthunder wagon but after 4 days and reaching tier4 tanks i hit the wall of, "thats enough of free to play. go grind your ass and half of your life to play one more game with tier4 tank or give us money".
I like warthunder for its gameplay mechanics (not very the repair costs) so it was hard to uninstall. But here I am. Pity players.

Happens to a fellow squadron member, he got banned for the same reason as Johann..when he ask gaijin what is the evidence of said accusations, the team simply said "we cannot show it because it will expose how we working to find that offence" something like that. The excuse make sense but it wasnt good enough. Poor guy,never show up again in our discord server.
