Who are you most excited about?
I was excited to see your dog.
I was not disappointed
Conor Bedard
So you're saying that mcdavid is better than gretzky?
@@ry-flix possibly
I’m just looking forward to the draft Canucks are probably definitely gonna be in the top 5.
I’m thinking once yet again it’s hard to deny based what we’ve seen the entire teams effort this year it could be very well Greens last game as coach today maybe and the Canucks have find a way and should have a book on Holtby he is off to a hot start apparently for Dallas.
"Mark my words Shane wright will be the first overall pick" well this aged well
Yeah Rob talks hockey, he doesn't think it or know it.
And the Titanic is unsinkable!
Did any teams or insiders state why he fell 5 spots? He’s doing well for himself so far he’s in the playoffs lol
@@fukxzz dropped 4 spots… wowww. You are a hater for no reason. Let’s see you play GM then.
Rob my guy, your dog made me smile a type of smile that I can’t replicate
Ah man this comment was way too wholesome
@@RobTalksHockey Aaron Ekablad my fav defenseman, he underrated
That dog is a very good dog.
Yes. Yes he is.
YES the dog is back!!! Tell him we love him
I'm pretty sure golden retrievers aren't the breed of dog that speaks English.

Having played hockey, had my kid play hockey, and coached kids hockey, I am convinced that hockey parents’ poor behavior is only exceeded by Pop Warner football parents.
Yes lol.hockey parents are crazy they'll tell 14 years to kill themselves ... witch is stupid guys like that brings eyes ...yes scouts go for the star but they check out the other players while there even the visitors be stupid not to
LittleLeague parents!
@Jesse Champagne Have you ever played baseball or watched a little league game?
Hockey parents are the worst.
Toxic parents are a problem in every sport tbh
that mcdavid goal on the rangers was MAD
Big mad :o
Just an update on Bedard this past season he got 51 goals, 49 assists for 100 points in 62 games.
Don't get me wrong, Bedard will be a great NHL player... but if people think hes actually going to be better then McDavid... there dreaming!
@@chrispeters8555 no I agree, I see people making comparisons, unlike mcdavid I’m able to see him live, and from what I seen Bardard has one hell of a shot but he’s not a 2 way player and doesn’t have the speed like mcdavid, Bedard and mcdavid are 2 different players.
@@chrispeters8555 they're completely different players too. Bedards more like Matthews
Played against Sean day my whole life growing up, kid was an absolute beauty, had size and one of the best skaters, game just caught up to him
Same here. He was better than Fox when they were younger.
sean day is way too slow for todays nhl
Love the dog man, keep up the great work . I must say that the CHL has to acknowledge these great players, and also that it doesn’t just mean putting up points on the scorsheet
Love seeing the progress you've made bro. Great stuff! Keep it up
Thanks for the support my dude!
The dog is officially a certified goodboy
I remember seeing day play in Guelph. I was extremely underwhelmed.
been to 2 winnipeg ice games vs pats, bedard looks solid for his age, gonna be insane in a few years
A drama Sydney Crosby movie about his early days would be insane.
He went through alot but look at him now compared to some of the losers who gave him trouble!
Denis Potvin played for the Ottawa 67's when he was 13 year old. Potvin's father insisted that his older brother also had to play in order to protect him. It was mayhem hockey then in the Broadway Bullies era with Steve Durbano etc.. playing in the OHL. . The Montreal Expos had scouting camps and Denis Potvin and Bryan McSheffrey were the 2 best baseball prospects in Canada. Potvin was also an excellent football and lacrosse player but the 67's insisted that he stopped playing those sports. I went to the same primary school ( Notre dame de la Joie) and the school had to put grills on the windows facing the baseball diamond as Potvin kept breaking them . No one else was anywhere close to hitting the balls that far. By the way, Potvin was so strong that he did not need his brother's protection.
You might want to look that up. He played 3 games as a 15 year old for the Ottawa 67's.
nice to see the orange shirt still chillen in the background! u a real one rob
love the benchwarmer insert! (i am 12). Thanks for the video. As a hab fan, i'm happy with juraj coming in 1st overall!
Hey just found your channel yesterday and am an instant fan love the content
Gotta say love the videos you do man been watching you from the beginning.
Your where are they now videos and worst or best trades videos are awesome. You should do one where it’s of each team biggest bust and quickest collapse and quickest rebuilds in history
Thanks for the feedback dude!
Me during the 2012: Nail Yakupov is the next best player in the league, he looks so good!
Me during the 2015: Ah McDavid is overhyped, look what happened to Yakupov, that is gonna happen to McDavid.
Me now: I’m not even gonna talk about Shane Wright, everything I say, the exact opposite happens lol.
😂😂😂
LMFAOO
Let’s maybe go with Shane Wright is a bust then.
Yakupov still holds the best Celly of all time
Honestly I kinda feel bad for Yakupov, like yes he was a massive bust, but he’s really not as bad as a lot of people play it off as nowadays. He had almost 20 goals in just 48 games as a rookie.
It feels wrong to put all the blame on him when he was on a dreadfully bad oilers team. Dude was destined to be labeled a bust by the media unless he did some Ovechkin level carrying for the Oilers.
@@brendan9868 his rookie season wasn't terrible, but he never got better and had absolutely no fucking effort whatsoever.
Great videos man. Thanks.
Love the vids!!
The shirt at the back round. Respect 🙌
Hey Rob what about one of players who've had a successful redemption arc with fanbases? I'm thinking like Jesse Puljujärvi - hated when refusing to return from overseas when he came back has continued to win the hearts of everyone. Not just by his amazing play but he's gotta be one of the lovable NHL players
Thanks for the feedback dude!
Bison king
I remember the term being used back in the 80s when Glen Goodall played for Seattle in the WHL at 14.
I think Sean Day can make it to the NHL. He's still relatively young and he's been really good this year.
Certainly didn't earn the exceptional status though
@@whitepaws60 Yeah, no lol
Love this series!!
I will support my fellow Albertan, subscribed.
One of my absolute favorite channels. And not only because of the good boy (the dog).
Dope video, keep it up
I love the Every Child Matters shirt my dude! Tons of respect for that, I enjoyed the video also👍🏽
Great video
I've watched conor bedard play alot this season in person. He's playing with linemates that are pretty below above. Also, the way the other teams defend him, you have players literally only watching him when he's on the ice and nothing else. Pretty insane
Hes gonna turn it around by mid season bedard is a machine
you dont think crosby had a shadow on him every shift in the Q? Bedard is being outscored by defensemen.
@@MrTedMcForehead the Q is also the easiest league to score in and the W is the most defensive
You really explained exceptional status well its horrible people that run around saying look at me I'm exceptional I'll sue you!
aw the puppy slowly melting lol what a cutie
LOL just heard the Shane Wright bit. Happy Krakening!
Only time I ever seen our county arena packed was when Crosby came to town. He was only 12 or 13 at the time.
Imagine the Habs ending up with Wright and Bedard. The dynastie will come back better then ever.
They’d end up being the second coming of the current Oilers. No team is ever gonna win a cup while paying 2 players 30% of the entire cap space.
you'll just end up being a carbon copy of the oilers
It is looking positive since there's no more Bergevin to fuck things up. These guys together with Cole Caufield would be deadly. Here's hoping Price still plays like a 10 million per year goalie to add to that.
@@dragroch5536 not likely, I love price but hes getting old
@@dragroch5536 I think it was the last tiem we saw price on the Ice.
Are you gonna do a reaction to the Eichel trade? Love your content!
I live in Regina and have pats season tickets, it's truly amazing to watch him play
Great content really like learning about the next generation. Video idea find 20 or more player in juniors who you think will make it. Not exceptional status player just normal prospects. It would be fun to see in a couple years how many you got right.
By make it I mean a star in the league. Not just some journeyman
Here are some names: Ty Nelson, Logan Cooley, Danila Yurov, Brayden Yager, Frank Nazar, David Jiricek, Conor Geekie, Matthew Savoie, and Heidt, just to name a few
joe veleno is only getting better and better for the wings. been a steady progression, he's done pretty well when he's been called up by the wings too. yzerman is being patient and letting him get to where he needs to be. very exciting future!
I am loving so far how Yzerman has handled his development. As much as fans want him on the Wings full time he just doesn’t seem to be ready for that yet but he is handling these call ups like a real pro it seems. Some kids it might screw with their heads but JFV is making the most of his opportunities in GR and Detroit and I really think he has a good shot at becoming a top 30ish player in the league.
Every child matters.... subscribed, thx for the support 🙏
Spotting a riverside rangers jersey in this video made my day
Amazing shirt in the back
Feels weird seeing future NHL'ers Wright, Bedard and Savoie talked about after seeing them drafted in Year 1 or 2 in my EHM career and them all quickly turning into leaders in their teams and Top 10 in NHL in their positions. Perhaps they will actually turn into new studs in their teams as well IRL.
I remember going to watch Tavares play for the Oshawa Generals back when I was in grade school, it was unreal to see. Guaranteed to watch him score at least a couple goals any given night
Those future Hall of Famers had video game numbers!
This video makes me think of Dusty Jameison,Nolan Yonkman,Topps prospects that were minor league players and David Legwand who never developed into a great scorer!
Another W ✅
Hoping to see Veleno take off. He could be a 20 goal player in the wings if he’s given enough ice time
Keep dreaming
The wings are heading in the right direction.I really like their new signees,Cross Hanas and Pontus Andreasson!
So I went to go watch bedard yesterday in Regina, buddy gets lined up and rocked
he's tiny, good thing for him this sport is turning into a noncontact league quickly
I’d be interested to see players who applied for exceptional status and got denied
Jack Hughes (OHL), Matthew Savoie (WHL), Jakob Chychrun (USHL), Braden Yager (WHL) off the top of my head
@@mathieuferlandkozicz1335 I know barzal was denied too…but how can you fail USHL? Thought it was only a CHL thing
@@dereklasker5350 Chychrun was a special case as there’s no “exceptional status” programme in the USHL but he asked to play in the USHL at 15 and was denied, which is why he ended up in Sarnia
@@mathieuferlandkozicz1335 gotcha, I didn’t know that
@@mathieuferlandkozicz1335 funniest part is yager probably would have got it if he wasn’t in Bedards draft
Exceptional t shirt hanging. Thank you.
“Winning the calder in his first season” yes you can only win it in your first season
I’m not trying to be that guy but if you play less then… I believe it’s 30 games in 1 season, technically you can win the Calder in your second season.
@@bladesausteel 25 games.
@@ronaldwayne7092 25 games! Not 30.
Thank you!
I could say "he won the calder" or "he won the calder in his first season, as a rookie" etc etc. Just adding more context my guy
@@RobTalksHockey Your videos always make my day when I see that you uploaded! I can tell you care about your videos and it really shows, keep up the great work!
I went to HS with Sean Day and his bro. He was pretty nasty up at the outdoor roller rink in the summer time 😂
I don’t understand it. They create the rule for “exceptional” but they hand it out too often now IMO so it’s not that “exceptional”
Once or twice per year is fine. The CHL is huge. Do you expect them to be more picky in their selection? Or are getting bent out of shape because you're trying to quantify exceptional?
@@irondude71 or maybe they could use statistics to quantify exceptional. It could be difficult to understand how a league can get extorted into handing it out as it's not always performance based. Hmm... almost like it was discussed in the video.
@@irondude71 once or twice per year is ridiculous, your entire comment is condescending, uneducated and kind of laughable tbh
"I don't know what to do anymore, or what to feel anymore" 😂😂😂
"MARK MY WORDS, WRIGHT WILL GO FIRST OVERALL" - famous last words
I marked your words. Wright went 4th lol. Very VERY surprised by that
Cold Coffee‼️
Oh! More of the good boi!
As a Rangers fan that McDavid highlight traumatizes me.
I enjoyed your analysis, hope Wright does well just not against my leafs
"Mark my words. Shane Wright will be drafted first overall" Words Unmarked, bro. lol
Veleno's numbers may not of been eye popping but trust me he dominated kids 2-3 years older than him all over the ice. After seeing the first game of his season, I said he's getting exceptional status and well he did despite messing up the paperwork.
Bedard finally getting his wheels under him not playing on the third line and a coaching change
A shame the team isnt clicking like it can
There was a local phenom named Brian Wiseman who broke Wayne Gretzky's record for goals by a minor league player. Don't remember if he was granted exceptional status but I often wonder what happened to him?
3 games in NHL. No points. Is a coach now for Oilers ironically.
what record exactly?
@@MrTedMcForehead I read that as a kid he had more points in a single season than any other player in history, breaking Gretzky's record.
Coming here after Wright wasn’t drafted 1st. There is also Michael Miss who was granted exceptional status.
im a bit over weight but im 5.3 as a 10 year old what should i do
Gentlemen CZcams algorithm has reunite us once again!
So. We meet again...
The every child matters shirt🧡
IT'S A PUPPER!!! The video gets a like during ad for giant pupper

I love ya man, but I can't ignore this,
Joe Veleno absolutely hasn’t “bounced around” at all…. He was drafted in first round by Detroit and has been here since between NHL squad and our AHL affiliate (although he was in NHL roster most of last season)…… not a single bounce
Epic doggo
Love me some Joe Veleno LGRW
Its a good thing he was held back. He is not a big guy. He has had multiple concussions, hockey is a brutal sport, as a shorter guy he would have eaten more head shots. The leagues did him a service holding him back so he could mature physically. Still he got there in time. Sid the kid doing well in NHL at 18
Ekblad was 80(ish) kilograms at 14 years old? What a fucking unit
Well....Shane Wright...mark my words!?
I remember watching Sean Day in the O and he was kind of underwhelming
Sean Day just made his NHL debut.
I remember Denis Potvin from the 67's he was definitely an elite talented D man the only thing he lacked was the elite speed others like Coffey/Orr and even big Robinson had when he got going. Now a days all the players are fast and mobile so much so they all cancel each other out but if you ever see even the worst players in the NHL in some mens league they would destroy the league scoring that is how elite NHL players are.
Jagr played U18 in Czechoslovakia at 12 years old
I thought John Taveres and Eric Lindros were before Crosby?
I can’t see any team passing on Bedard. He has McDavid type talent. If he continues to develop
Watched him play last night he’s definitely good but not even close to Mcdavid
I think Sean Day in Tampa Bay will definitely make a revenge type of story.
I’m still mad we lost the lottery and got stuck with Eichel. We were still happy w 2nd best at the time. But dude grew to be a cancer to this team & that’s before the injury drama.
Connor McDavid is/will go down as the greatest hockey player to ever live
Day and veleno black mailed them, despicable character shown by both.
Great video! Daylight savings today. Shane Wright is better than Connor Bedard.
No he isnt
To early to tell
Well I marked your words and Wright was drafted 4th… you failed me. I trusted you.
Can’t wait for my Habs to get Wright! ;(
We better not get robbed at the draft
Wright isn’t who I would take. Not at this point in his career.
@@TvDebates__ what if they Savoie?
No in this class is better than Wright atm
@@godslayer8894 its so close. If they played 60 games Savoie = 84 pts, Wright = 87 its literally neck and neck and imo 1A and 1A+. I think Savoie has more offensive upside then Wright who look to be more of goal scoring 2-way forward.
Think Wright potential = Point to Tavares
Think Savoie potential = Marner to Mackinnon.
dont underrate Savoie
Every child matters shirt in the background matters a lot
the dog is so cute
I was just at a Syracuse Crunch game and saw Sean Day, he looked solid but wasn’t anything special. Hopefully he gets a shot in the NHL at some point.
Day sounds like he will be lucky to be in the NHL.
9:45 About that........
can you do the opposite if you have not already so like amazing players who played house league there whole lives then became nhl players because there are a few
Liked for puppy in video
Rob my man, that Shane Wright draft prediction didn't age well ;)
