  • Ammonia has been around for ages, but it's cleaning power has been forgotten. While my preference is to use less smelly and pungent cleaners, there are times when you need to hit the mess with "THE BIG GUNS" and that's where ammonia comes in. Ammonia cleans stoves, ovens, bathrooms, fabric and more. There are so many uses for ammonia, but in this video, I'll show you my top 5 favs.
    Get your ammonia here:

I own a cleaning company and ammonia is my go to. The hack she showed with the mattress apply it to your carpet stains. Does better then any spot lifter on the market. Word of caution its an alkaline on the ph scale so you must neutralize it. Real simple to do. Spot treat carpets with ammonia agitate and blot out stains. Then run your rug Dr. or whatever you have with Odor bans carpet cleaner it will neutralize it and remove odors and clean at the same time. Awesome video!!!!

I put my stovetop ceramic grates in a garbage bag with a splash of ammonia. I tie it up and leave outside overnight. The next morning I wash them and there is no scrubbing needed.

Best way to remove blood stains is with regular salt (sodium chloride). You can use sea salt. Make a very dilute solution. A tablespoonful in a large bowlful of warm water, never hot. Hot water will fix the stain and then you won't be able to remove it. If the salt solution is too concentrated, it will fix the stain and then you won't be able to remove it. The trick is to keep it very very dilute, a very weak solution, probably 0.9% (saline) or lower, and warm/tepid or even cold water. Soak your blood-stained pillow or whatever it is and it should come off with a bit of agitation without using any harsh chemicals. If the stain gets fixed, it means you used too much salt or the water was too hot or both.

Peroxide would have done that instantly and taking the sweat out as well.

Everyone says this and I watched a lot of videos that said it would remove a blood stain on my mattress. Now I have a blood stain and a big yellow circle around it. I must have done something wrong I guess. I wish it had worked because my asthma doesn't like these harsh chemicals.

You could have done that with salt and cold water. That's what they did back in 1800s for women's rags.

The smell is very strong. I always recommend ventilation, even a fan helps. Once you cover it with plastic wrap, the smell does improve.
