    Newspaper is great for windows, glass surfaces, mirrors. Unfortunately, these days I'm reading the newspapers online, which is much less effective for glass cleaning.

      It’s crazy, my in laws live about 20 miles from their closest town. They have always taken the paper. Well, they stopped delivering it, if they want to continue the subscription it will be $83 a month. No more cost effective news and brain exercises for my 80+ year old mother and father in law. They could use the computer, but since retirement they sit together at the kitchen table, dad reads the paper and mom does the cross word.

    • @mquinn135
      @mquinn135 Před 2 lety +8

      One of the reasons they used newspapers is that it was repellant against flies. A shot of vinegar in the water makes windows shiny too. Please don't ever use the seemingly greatest oven cleaning agent, dishwasher cubes, you will be very sorry about it and don't use it in the toilet it doesn't clean the bowl. It makes a laterally brilliant mess. I watch all these cleaning tips for all kinds of places world the house, but, I basically just use vinegar and baking soda everything shines great afterwards. Hydrogen peroxide is not exactly a great biological product, I wouldn't even venture into buying it. Please remember unless you are wearing a face mask during all these cleaning adventures, you are inhaling toxic chemicals which can lead to allergic reactions. Finally cleaning is not easy if you are not constantly taking care of your things. Wiping the oven after baking or cooking takes a couple of minutes and save long cleaning procedures later. I think everyone cleaning had their own special way of getting jobs around the house done so I myself prefer to stick with biodegradable cleaning methods.

    People the fact is that the squeegee is not only the most effective and perfect way to wash glass but it is way faster and you will never go back to pushing dirt around and around on a piece of glass you will feel ridiculous once you realize how efficient the tool is I've been cleaning windows for 50 years and the one thing that I've learned is that 99% of the time all you need is water and a good squeegee and what I've learned is that after every time you pull your squeegee across the glass if you wipe the squeegee off you will have even better results the other secret is is to never touch any of the glass besides the tops bottoms and edges just wipe the surfaces and you will have a perfectly clean piece of glass maybe start practicing on a mirror

    Newspaper and white vinegar are TOPS for windows. Newspaper now is not as good, because they changed their ink. They used so much of the ink that their newspaper would leave the reader's hands black! They've gotten that problem under control, and newspaper is great - you just have to check to make sure it hasn't been altered. I use hydrogen peroxide for a multitude of things like: squirting some on my toothbrush after every use. I use baking soda and peroxide, on gentle speed, to wash my sweaters and other clothing that requires extra care.

    Vinegar will give you a streak free window / mirror cleaner. Much cheaper than peroxide now. Vinegar has many uses as well.

      Do you know what works terrifically for eye glasses… spray on diluted dish soap ( mostly water with 1-2 pumps of dish soap) in a spray bottle . The last time I got new glasses I was advised to do this. Works great and saves money
