  • If you need to clean a laminate floor, we can show you. If you want to see the grossest floor ever look brand new again, we can show you that too. This floor hasn't been mopped in over a decade. It was covered in grease and dirt. NO kitchen floor should ever look like that.
It took a little trial and error but we made it clean again. A few things that made this extreme cleaning job easier? My O-Cedar mop and Easy-Off, fume-free, of course.

This is the most important comment on this video. THIS is the problem here. We do not do our sons any favors by “shielding” and “protecting” them from cleaning responsibilities while they are growing up in our homes. You are setting them up for unhappiness and potentially misery - like here in this video - by using misogynistic practices in our homes. We need to love our sons enough to make certain they know how to clean and get plenty of practice doing it.

Great job! I have one suggestion to anyone reading this: Please don't rinse the grease down the sink. Grease will build up in your pipes and septic system and the formations of fatbergs (like icebergs) will damage your pipes. It is very expensive to fix the plumbing. It's best to just throw the greasy wipes away instead of rinsing it down the drain.

I found an amazing woman who got my house looking beautiful again. She was compassionate and empathetic. She didn’t say it was disgusting and gross. She didn’t say she wanted to gag. This is outrageous. Someone should have intervened long before this. My heart absolutely ACHES that our elderly is living like this. It’s a huge reminder to us all to not neglect visiting our family, friends or neighbors who are seniors to be sure they are ok and not going without. If it weren’t for these older people we would never be here and we need to cherish them. I’m grateful to have watched this and taken this as a reminder myself. My mom was a clean freak. I became a clean freak. I could NEVER understand how any human being could live this way. My oldest son is a complete slob and I have been frustrated with how he has kept his room for years (We live together). What I discovered is that he actually LIKES being in a cleaner space but doesn't know how to go about it. He has tolerated my deep cleaning of his room which usually takes a full day. I also had an Aunt who lived this way. She would put on clothing and makeup immaculately but lived in waist high filth. I just can't wrap my mind around some of that. It takes a great deal of compassion to serve someone in this way. Bless you for doing this for this man.

My first thought was a tarp as well. However I think using trash bags would give the control you need plus the coverage.

@@marshakott1574 You get rolls of real wide, thin plastic mesnt for covering floors when painting etc. It’s cheap too. I think I paid the equivalent of $2.99 the last time I bought a roll. It would be much better for this than a tarp, because it has to cover and make sure air doesn’t get to the floor/cleaning solution for the cleaning to be most effective. 😊

I'm curious how super hot water and Tide would have done. I've been using it lately to mop, and my husband said they used it when he was in automotive school because it would break up the grease. Your relative is blessed to have you! ❤️

When I worked at Taco Bell years ago they used Tide powder and hot water to mop the floors. It worked really well to get the floors clean and grease free.

I used tide with bleach (powder)and hot water with a bristle brush and handle on my great aunts garage floor and walls because she is sensitive to harsh smells. It worked really well and it smells awesome still.

Yes I think Tide is a better cleaner degreaser than it is a laundry product. Maybe it should stay in the Garage for cleaning.I itch like crazy when ever I’ve used it in my laundry. And so do my boys.

You are an angel to clean for that gentleman. It isn't always easy for older people or people with disabilities to do the cleaning. More people could do things like this to help others in need of assistance. Blessings for your kindness to this gentleman.
