Reaction to USC canceling main commencement

- Students at the University of Southern California responded after the institution's decision to cancel the main commencement ceremony. Tracey Leong reports for the NBC4 News on April 26, 2024.
What a BS line from the university president. Talk about incitement. She could still cancel/postpone the ceremony with a more thoughtful statement. All involved are adults and can understand that an abundance of caution and smaller gatherings are probably best in these uncertain times.
Colleges and Universities will just shut down all ceremonies and gatherings of any kind by any one on campus. The liability is just too great.

If it were PEACEFUL demonstrations Commencement would not have been cancelled.

These four words describe what I think should happen to colleges and universities who cancel commencement: LOSE ALL GOVERNMENT FUNDING!

If I were a parent, I would sue for a partial refund. Shutting down an entire commencement because some people can't handle other people's political beliefs is pathetic and Anti-American. The idea of free thought in a democratic society is the cornerstone of American culture.
Are you insane or daft. They didn’t shut down commencement because of political beliefs. They shut it down for safety and liability reasons. If you don’t like it, buckle up. Colleges and Universities across the country will end all events on campus, ceremonies, and gatherings of all kinds. They just won allow them anymore. Period.

Bravo for cancelation for this college really they absolutely haven't learned much to do about nothing or they would to respect different ways people have to live all around world like historyand geography so don't belive ready for graduation so disrespectful.
