- Peugeot 106 - We test the elderly Peugeot 106. With its small 1.0l 50 hp engine, we experience the cold start, acceleration of 0-100 and the top speed in this mini car. The Peugeot 106 was produced in two series. During the first (S1) from September 1991 to April 1996 and the second (S2) from May 1996 to July 2003 Here, the 106 S1 based on the Citroën AX introduced a few years earlier, during the 106 S2 is technically almost identical to the Citroën Saxo. Specifically, the vehicles of the first series were relatively easy, so that even comparatively good performance could be achieved with the smaller engines. Especially the XSi model with the 1.4-liter engine (94 hp) was at a maximum speed of 200 km / h and acceleration from 0-100 km / h in under ten seconds for a small car very quickly. Especially the Peugeot 106 GTI S16 with the 1.6 liter engine was very fast. Therefore, they were very popular in rally racing use.

my series 1 used to do the same with the petrol needle bouncing all over the place but now i have a series 2 and it doesn't do it thankfully.i love these little bombs mind great urban cars. Only problem i got is the ignition barrel is worn so gotta fit a push button start lol no biggie though

Got the S2 1.4 litre but it never accelerated as fast as yours.
But I did 160 kmh on straight road. Could even do more.

my 1.0 liter 106 XR starts at a "quarter of a rev" :P the quoted part is a common term in bulgaria it means it starts really really easy :)

mine is 1.1 litre 2001 and is starts at clic...and by the way top speed 180 and on board i got 190......5 litters -100km and is much faster than this...i change only a exaust nothing else!

Elle à l'air de bien marcher pour une 954cc, on aurait dis que c'est la 1124cc et je suis surtout étonné de la vitesse de pointe, l'aiguille qui dépasse d'un chouilla le 160, bon après faut voir ce que ça donne en vitesse GPS (réelle) mais elle fait autant que la 1124cc qui est donnée sur la papier pour cette vitesse environ ...

+Nikos NtS i have the 1.1 saxo which is next engine up and yess they do move like this, they weight around 800kg so there isnt much to lug around, top speed of the 1.0 and 1.1 is about 105mph on paper 0-60 is around 10 seconds which for some thing with such an old engine is pretty good.
My 106 only has 110 on the o'clock but this is suped up where as mine isn't

this car had a tune , i have a S1 1.1L and it's not nearly as fast when accelerating ! and the max is 145km/h ! so this one must have more than 60hp :D Can you show some good tips to make same more power without braking the bank ! ?

Sure it isnt a 1.1? I mean, Peugeot official numbers say 0-100 in 18 sec and top speed of 150. But you did 0-100 in 15 sec and top speed of 165?

He didn't let the fuel pump do its job. He immedietly cranked the engine instead of letting the fuel pump complete pressureizing the fuel systen
