  • In this video I will replace the spark plugs and ignition coils on a 328i E90 with the N52K engine. This will be the same procedure for the E91, E92 and E93. Even if its has the SULEV engine N52.
** Do not use ELECTRIC TOOLS to remove and install spark plugs**
    Parts:
    12-12-2-158-253 Spark plugs X6
    - 30NM torque spec +/- 3
    12-13-8-616-153 Delphi Ignition coils X6
    Tools:
    Pocket Screw Driver : amzn.to/3HkKHym
    - This is a combo kit comes with a small Philips screwdriver. We will only need the flathead but this is the best value for the price
    Flat head screw driver: amzn.to/3iJpp32
    1/2" Ratchet: amzn.to/3ZX5ZZN
    1/2" Extension Set: amzn.to/3j3xoZb
    E18 Socket 1/2" drive: amzn.to/3l6q4gm
    3/8" ratchet: amzn.to/3h9zshn
    - I recommend getting a ratchet with a flex head. This provides ease of movement and more flexibility,
especially when used with other jobs
    3/8" Torque Wrench: amzn.to/3Pcue0V
    3/8" extension set: amzn.to/3Fxtnoq
    5/8" Sparkplug Socket: amzn.to/41OSrjM
    E14 3/8" socket: amzn.to/3h67T8S
    5mm 3/8" hex socket: amzn.to/3yn0abd
    1/4" ratchet flexhead: amzn.to/3VQGdDA
    1/4” extension set: amzn.to/3Y95WJt
    8mm socket 1/4": amzn.to/3PcsWmB

Yeah it’s not that bad. The hardest part would be getting the three clips back on but still simple enough.

If you don’t have a torque wrench you can do your best to get close and it won’t be the end of the world. Just tighten down the spark plug until you reach the end stop and snug it down another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Why skip the plug 4. I’m sure that’s hard to
Get out. You’d almost have to pull out the valvtronic

Well you can briefly see it at 13:18, it’s not as bad as it may seem. You can pull it out without removing the valvetronic motor. Ignition coil #3 is the same.
