    Your Denton is pretty fast on 6s. You sure found a nice big parking lot to do speed runs on . As always thank you for your great Video.

    I haven’t tested my Senton 6s but I was guessing around 50mph without the speed pinion. Thanks for confirming that! I was having so much fun just bashing it on 4s that I haven’t worried much about speed testing it. I’ve got a Typhon that I put a 19t pinion in for speed. Just waiting for some street tires to test it out.

      Eric I've had a few Arrmas before and whilst I'll test this on the speed pinion soon, I have to say everyone has been better to drive with the stock pinion. The places where you can do 60mph are not so many as you'd think. 60mph is 88ft per second so that big 500ft parking lot is suddenly very small. I fitted traxxas XO-1 tires to my typhon with the aid of my trusty dremel. You might want to check out 'arrmaspeedclub' on facebook, Karl Grimmett runs it and is a mine of usefull info.

      Driftomaniacs - I know exactly what you mean about few places to run 60+ mph. It is very difficult to find wide open places to safely do it which is why I was originally planning on truggifying my Typhon. I likely still will but I bought the 19t pinion on impulse just to see what it would do. I’m not interested in trying to set any speed records. Fortunately for me, my driveway is about 350 feet long and very straight so I can do some basic speed testing here and only have to hunt down the open parking lots or deserted industrial parks to really open it up. And I actually love how my Kraton and Senton run on 4s with slightly geared up (1-2 teeth) pinions so that’s what I mostly run.

      Now I've just looked back at one of my Typhon videos and with the speed gearing fitted the typhon ran 55Mph on the GPS. Now the Senton isn't as aerodynamic so I'd tsay about 50-52. Essentiallly they are the same underneath the skin. Hope that helps - let me know how you get on

    The Big Rock Crew Cab is 48-50mph stock on 3s. I thought the Senton 6s would be much faster even stock.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  Před 5 lety +1

      You need to bear in mind that in this video it was running stock, the 65mph they quote as with most RC's with the optional pinion fitted. Also this is running an all metal transmission inc centre diff and weighs 25% more, however when it comes to cornering at speed and handling at speed this will have the edge to say the least. I'd also be wary of that 50mph speed until I personally see it. I had one of the first arrma granite 4x4's to test, stock out the box it hit 22 mph, at its very, very best it did 28mph with the speed pinion on and a lipo in it. Never hit the 30mph+ they claimed. Indeed nor it seems did anyone with the stock setup. Not saying the Big Rock won't do that as every 6s arrma I've had (Four so far) have done 65+ on the speed pinion. Love arrmas!

      The small scale size rubber does make them a little lower compared to other arrmas, put typhoon wheels on it which are larger in diameter and watch the thing move

  • @jalee6587
    @jalee6587 Před 6 lety

    Arrma senton mega is fragile. Cant handle more power than the 550 motor. Broken input shafts stripped spurs every few packs on 2s and a 3300kv 3650 motor. Steering links get jammed up by twigs and rocks every few minutes. Stock servo breaks after first run. I had hopes for my first arrma but doesnt seem to be reliable.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  Před 6 lety

      The senton in this video is the 6S version, unlike the mega's the 6s versions are all metal chassis, and all metal drivetrain, if you bought one of the 6s arrmas you'd find them bullet proof, I've owned this senton, a nero, outcast and two typhons. That said I own a granite 4x4 mega and I told arrrma after two days the rear input shaft was going to be a problem area. I've just fitted the uprated input shafts (6 months on back order...) and was testing with castle 5700kv and mamba x on 4S earlier this week. Video on that should be up tomorrow. The 6S ones are different beasts, they bought the megas out to compete with traxxas. I've replace the steering servo but only due to yours truly driving it in the swimming pool, I was pond/pool skimming and missed by exit point....
      I'd recommend the new notorious which is based on the outcast, faster than erevo 2.0 and as I'm finding out, more reliable than my 2.0....Or try a typhon, they are a blast off road or on road (very good at speed runs).

    52 mph on 6s ??? not sure what to make of that , not sure if its worth 6s ??
    i have a 1/10 Losi Ten scte that does 52mph on 3s ! and is probably a lot better balanced off road , will jump better as well ??
    these companies are putting big ass slow cans in these small 1/10 cars and your actually gaining very little and losing balance through poor weight distribution because of a huge 6s battery in a relatively small car, id say you could gear it up further because of the 6s power but then the car becomes useless for anything other than straight lines ?? which defeats the object of an SCT, then take into account the extra cost of 6s ??
    is it worth it when a 1/10 SCT with a decent 4000kv plus motor and 3s battery can do virtually the same ??
    just saying like

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  Před 4 lety

      Losi is a good 25% lighter though! Also this is on the stock out the box pinion and not the speed gearing which should be good for 65

    • @gatti493
      @gatti493 Před 4 lety

      @@DriftomaniacsRC
      Yes I know the Losi is lighter but that's the point I'm making , the senton is unnecessarily heavy so that it can use 6s, it's motor is heavier and it's esc is heavier, also it's parts will all need to be beefier to accommodate the extra power and weight, all unnecessary !
      And yet it is shorter and narrower that the Losi ten scte, it's wheelbase is 328mm to Losi ten 334mm it's width is 295mm to Losi ten 295.8, only it shell is longer at 550mm to Losi ten being 524mm but that is only plastic covering the actual car is smaller than the Losi !
      That car if it is capable of doing 65mph would be completely uncontrollable and you could put 4s in the Losi ten and it would do the same but why ??
      It defeats the object of an SCT
      I personally think you are far better off to get the Losi ten scte but that's just my humble opinion 😉👍

      @gatti493 Před 4 lety

      @@DriftomaniacsRC
      i dont mean to be having a pop at you but please also take into account when you put your 6s battery in your 1/10th car that weight difference is going to shoot up to more like 75% heavier in the senton with a horrendous weight distribution in such a small car and all for nothing mate.
      good luck anyway
