I literally built this car a couple of years back ❤ The sway bar mounts (PCRC) are Philip Calvert ones, tidy wee upgrade on the plastic ones. Definitely left me with original Senton shocks too. Has had a couple of owners since but delighted to see it in such good hands👍
This thing was made back when arrma/team Durango was absolutely mad and bold
The Senton 3S is my favorite SCT you can buy today for general bashing. But the Senton 6S is my favorite SCT.......EVER!

I thought this truck was just a Typhon 6s with a Senton shell. Never knew why anyone would want a Typhon that parachutes but this video put some light on a vehicle I wrote off. Well done.
I think most rcs have potential. You just have to put some time, and sometimes some holes into it to get it to perform! 😂
I mean, you could say the same about any 4WD SCT, that they're just "1/8th scale buggies that parachute", because that's kinda what they are in a nutshell. :P
@@VestedUTuber Yea but in the sentons case, at least the 3s, it’s basically identical to the Typhon, same chassis and basically all parts are the same except for a few bolt on differences like body mounts and I think maybe the a arms.

I'd have to double check but I believe the arms are the same as well.
Two more examples are the original Losi TEN-SCTE and the TEN/810 platform (which in turn is a lightened, "small block" version of the 8IGHT 2.0), and the HoBao Hyper 10SC and Hyper VS2. I believe the Hyper 10SC might be using some parts from the Hyper TT10 but the TEN-SCTE is 100% 810 apart from the body mounts, bumpers and wheel hubs, with the roller also having a milled version of the chassis exclusive to itself but based on the one from the 8ight 2.0.
To get the perfect pinion and spur mesh everytime take a bit of paper and run the paper through the gears and tighten this has always worked well for me.

By far my absolute favorite rc! I ended up buying another just for parts and ended up repairing it and now I have 2 running senton 6s blx’s and wish I could find another. You don’t realize how much of a tank these are until you drive one ( and beat the brakes off it and it keeps coming back for more)
Shove a slither of cable tie in the striped hole and it's as good as new.
I think armma should do a rally car based of a senton.

Got myself the 4S Mojave, and like that even more, guess it's the center diff. Made a real Arrma fan out of me.
That is a great truck. The Scorch motor mount is a great piece of engineering. I loved the slow motion shots jumping off road. The on road tires looked like the hooked up really well. Great video.
Im 60%ish🤷♂️ to chase one of these down sometime soon. That'll finish my Arrma collection. Then I'm all about Tamiya kits (Yeah). And a crawler collection into the realistic stuff. (Missus reckons that means I'm getting old). Pfft. What does she know. I'll be a child FOREVERRRR.!! 😁

The Typhon is my favorite 6s Arrma vehicle. I have a V5 version that with a simple gear swap I hit 100mph with.
I love both of my Sentons i made my own 6S Senton and love it for street bashing and SCT bashing. Awesome video!!! Happy RC’ing Y’all!!!
I love my Senton 6S V2 - been bashing it since the day it was released. It took some beating, but I only replaced the ESC and servo so far. Everything else is still original
Much of that toughness is still alive today in the 3S as well. Been smashing mine for two years, all original electronics, drive shafts, rear linkages, and even wheel bearings. But man I'd love to find a 6S model.

I bought it from a friend of mine at the hobby shop about five years ago in pieces with no body. Last time I checked six months ago they were still selling the bodies and even though I have 30 or 40 RC cars I was still thinking about building it. It does look awesome and that body is damn their bulletproof.

I turned the 3s into a 4s monster. It gets up to around 50 on a straight. I love it! The senton will always have a place in my ❤. If i gear up it goes up on 3 wheels like the real trophy trucks. Makes it a blast in the parking lot or on a track. I smash people all day. Anyway cheers glad you gave the senton a love letter!

Yup for sure. I have the 4S Mojave with the exact same Max 8 system in it, it's kin awesome fun to drive on 4 or 6S, get one Phill you'll love it.
Out of all the videos I've watched of yours, this one is the closest to reminding me exactly what it was like working on and driving my Associated RC10 TC3 all those years back lol

I built a 8s senton off the typhon/outcast chassi and man it shreds through everything I never had a rc that size that just goes through deep water and mud like nothing while also having just the right amounts of speed and power and nimbleness
Was lucky enough to buy the last one of these at my hobby shop years ago. Still have it, one of my favorite rc cars I own.

I did virtually the same thing with my EXB Mojave and Scorcheds roto loc mount etc, well chuffed with the results. Especially with Sweeps Road crushers

I watch marketplace constantly for lightly used RC cars for a good price, then buy them and upgrade them like you do. I prefer buying them from 40' somethings that purchased an RC vehicle, ran it mabe 5 times, then decided to sell it. I enjoy working on them anyway.
Been a while since I have seen a Senton 6s on CZcams 👍 I had a Senton 6s but converted it after I got the Mojave 6s. It’s the ultimate Arrma SCT!
Just a heads up. You should get some purple loctite 222. It's specifically designed for small fasteners and things like counter sunk screws. It's a lower holding strength/viscosity than blue and removes with hand tools.

I bought one brand new, left it in the box for 3 weeks, and sold it, Absolutely regretted it ever since. They're based off the Durango 1/8 sct
I still have a couple of Durango DESC410 rolling chasssis.

This is the best car Arrma ever made. Built like a TANK, almost indestructible. I've never driven a Mojave, which is said to be fantastic, but the Senton is the perfect size IMO. I hope they bring it back one day, but I doubt it.
Either this or the Mojave 4S will be my next RC purchase. They just look too cool when cornering.

I am really impressed by the extra parts available for this model. The one that impacted me the moat is th motor mount. Excellent piece of hardware.

I’m lucky to have one original V3 and then converted 2 Typhon 6s into SCT’s using Sen 6s bumpers, posts, mounts, side nerfs etc!

Great video sir. I just missed out on the Senton range when they discontinued both the 3s and 6s models and I regret never having bought either. I did get a Mojave 6s EXB and that thing is a beast but maybe a 4s Mojave might be the sweet spot for size and speed.

The greatest RC car ever made in my opinion is the original Tamiya Hilux pickup truck. Incredible engineering and scale especially for something made over 40 years ago.

Found a good old senton 6sblx stock for sale second hand last summer which completed my arrma 6s lineup. $100 in good condition couldn't br happier with it(wing could use replacement ofcourse but that aside it's a great rig).
Keep rocking that senton! I love mine, its such a different beast with a locked center diff though👍

"blocked on traxxas" oh god I love you. They're too big for their britches at this point. I have a little dinky brushed version and it's just way too fun. The idea was "learn to drive brushed then upgrade, earn your brushless with experience" so we'll see how that pans out... or how long my patience lasts going "slow".
I found my patience lasted about 31 seconds 😅😅 much better of just going brushless and maybe turning the throttle down on the controller and gradually go up BUT saying that,if you're anything like me that won't last either . Sod it mate,just go full brushless to start😅

If you thirst for more power it means you've got too much grip, driving on a looser surface or getting different wheels will make your rc feel more powerful. Also remember the more power and grip you add to an rc the more stuff will break!
Now this makes me wonder what a Tamiya tt02 would be like on 6s as a street basher, obviously with upgraded internals
Hope to see you get the Mojave 4s!! But I will say after 2 bash sessions the bodies are toast!

I keep looking at the senton as Ive heard good things about it and you showcased that 6S really well mate. Looked and sounded like loads of fun. The Mjave 4S looks awesome but will it perform as well? Another one I'm looking at..

I have the same senton v3 with similar upgrades. If u can find a old pro-line basher body its a perfect fit. Its a thick white body that's indestructible. Ive run mine with it from new an have the og body new ona shelf. Great score man.

Quite gutted I’ve never owned a senton 6s myself a buddy of mine picked one up recently at a stupidly low price and it was mint I missed the mark on it as just had the Mojave 6s .
Wish arrma would release a new version of the senton 6s as it was adored by so many .
I am planning on getting the Mojave 4s though .

I like the Baja Rey because it has realistic suspension. The Senton and the Jumpshot Flux are pretty sweet though. Nice shots and nice rip!
I got mine second hand. It’s mainly a shelf queen, but I try to get it out a few times a year. The sentons are awesome and so tough.

A few months ago, Amazon had the Senton 3s 4x4 for $329.99 CAD. It was there for a few weeks, and I really regret not buying one. The Big Rock 3s is still on there for $349 right now though. Its very tempting, but really want a Senton.
For some sparks to get, should you have rear suspension way lower, even to almost scraping level??

You should try a Tekno SCT410.3. It takes a hell of a beating despite its racing pedigree, and most of it is stock. 60mph on 3s with a 4300kv motor.

So hope you see this and read it and possible ask the clan in a video. I ended up getting a hold of RPM that makes the almost indestructible arms and parts they said if they have a demand for the older cars with a lot of positive wants they would consider making them or bringing back in production of the older parts.

If you wanna save a bit of cash with those screws not biting i always found the strongest fix is too put a few 3-4 strands of copper wire from a old cable in the hole then put the screw in, same happend too my vorteks diff case and saved me buying a new one when nothing else was wrong with it
