- Norwegian Trip Report onboard one of their Boeing 737 equipped with the new Boeing Sky Interior, from Madrid to Gran Canaria, in one of the last frequencies that they've done from their base in Madrid, closed a few days ago.
Norwegian had up to 3-4 Boeing 737 based in Madrid, flying to many interesting destinations, but the MAX problem and the very competitive environment in Europe, took them to this decision. Hope to see Norwegian back in Madrid in a couple of years!

ENG: The 1st Long-Haul Flight was scheduled for today on the channel. However, some events that I had to deal with during this week didn't allow me to make a good quality video of it. That's the reason why I've decided to delete it and start its edition again without rushing. It will be ready for next Saturday. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a nice weekend!

Yep, this year results look far better than last years ones, so I would say that, as soon as the MAX will be flying, Norwegian will go back to really good financial results :)

Sorry to hear about the issues with your long haul video but this was a great one anyway. Only flown Norwegian once myself and I am a fan.
It's already uploaded and scheduled for Saturday. Once I had the initial final result I didn't like it at all. As long as it's the first long-haul of the channel, I thought it would be a good idea to erase everything and start editing again. The video right now looks much better :)

Yep, Boeing did a real mess with the MAX... but I really think that they are doing all that they can to make it the safest plane in the skies and start delivering them again.
We all need the MAX flying again, including the passengers, if we want the low-cost airlines to survive and continue offering great fares (and, most important, controlling the legacy carriers fares).

El espacio entre asientos de Norwegian es impresionante. El mejor low-cost posiblemente. De lo mejor que te puedes encontrar en cualquier vuelo en Europa. Sea low-cost o no. :)
Hoy el Aeropuerto de Gran Canaria está cerrado por la calima que es de tal magnitud que ni veo las casas que están delante de la mía, y así vamos a estar por lo visto hasta el Lunes. Muy bien con los nombres de las zonas..ehhhh..Aún por la calima;..."Gran Canaria, que gran destino"......y a ti, como siempre; buen video.
Ya vi fotos y videos! Menuda que se montó en las Canarias este finde! Madre mía!
Sin embargo, para compensar un poquito, estos días estáis teniendo Boeing 747 y demás en todas las islas!! :D

Siempre era mi primera opción para MAD-PMI, buenos precios, wifi a bordo y aviones nuevos y cómodos. Pero antes del cierre total de la línea, ya redujeron sus frecuencias a horarios intempestivos (o muy tarde o muy pronto), lo cual no llegué a entender nunca porque son los que precisamente están más copados (operados por 4 empresas simultáneamente en un margen de minutos). Veremos a ver qué sucede en el futuro. Saludos.
Norwegian necesita que el MAX vuelva a esta volando cuanto antes. En cuanto eso ocurra, sus costes van a disminuir enormemente! No van a necesita alquilar aviones a aerolíneas charter y el consumo de fuel (por el propio MAX) va a disminuir en más de un 15%.
Ojalá vuelva pronto a volar el MAX y Norwegian reabrirá la base de Madrid. Estoy convencido de ello.

Hermoso reporte! como se disfruta!!Una pena lo de Norwegian, de Argentina también se están retirando, tuve la oportunidad de viajar con ellos en vuelo doméstico por aqui, y la verdad son excelentes, aviones relativamente nuevos, puntualidad impecable y un trato super cordial.

@@OnBoardHD en realidad los MAX son de Aerolineas Argentinas, y ahi están parados, la salida de Norwegian de Argentina, no se porque es, pero sus rutas ya la está tomando otra low cost

Norwegian tiene unos 30 B737MAX en su flota Europea que tambien estan parados. Los B737NG que tenian en Argentina han tenido que volverse a Europa para hacer rutas aquí. 😐

They seem to have disappeared from radar literally. They used to pass over my house in Cheshire quite often at about 20 thousand feet.

Echo mucho de menos volar con Norwegian, guardo muy buenos recuerdos de mis vuelos AGP-LGW y viceversa con ellos. Sólo deseo que pronto pueda volver a ser lo que era y sin duda será mi primera opción. Trato super agradable, buen menú, y el wifi aunque fuese a trompicones a veces, era gratis, lo cual no es nada frecuente.
Muy pronto volverán a operar gran parte de sus rutas. Están volviendo a crecer :)

Norwegian ha cedido sus rutas domésticas en Argentina a JetSmart. Empezó a volar vuelos domésticos en 2018. El problema del MAX en Europa hizo que llevara aviones con matrícula argentina a volar en Europa el pasado verano europeo. Dado también al cambio de gobierno en Argentina, Norwegian dejará de volar dentro de Argentina a partir del 20 de marzo de 2020, manteniendo su vuelo diario a Londres. Veo siempre tus videos.

Ojalá el MAX vuelva a volar muy pronto y ayude a Norwegian a volver a los resultados financieros que se merece :)
OnBoardHD - Flight Experience I sincerely doubt the MAX will ever fly again and if it does the planes will be empty because air passengers have lost all confidence and trust in it.Norwegian and other airlines,such as Southwest ,will have to adjust and adjust quickly.
The MAX will be flying again by the end of this year and I'm 100% sure thay they will be full as always!
The A320 had some fatal crashes in their first years and... oh! They are more than 3.000 flying worldwide today! Same happened with many other airplanes... if the authorities say that they are safe to fly, it's enough for me.😊
OnBoardHD - Flight Experience Sorry but I don’t agree with you.Airbus never tried to hide the problems arising from the A320 whereas Boeing knowingly rushed production of the MAX and tried to cover it up when the shit hit the fan(with the connivance of the FAA?).The point is that No matter how much Boeing rebrands the MAX,consumer confidence and trust is shot.No one can guarantee that enough people will fly in the MAX (when it is put back in operation) for long enough to allow airlines to break even nor make a profit from it.That’s the bottom line.I think the MAX is dead and will stay dead no matter how much effort goes into ressuscitating it.I would love to be proved wrong.
Well, I dont know what Airbus nor Boeing did. What I know is that the 99% of the passengers dont know how to differenciate an A320 from a B737. So even less a B737NG from a B737MAX. If necessary, the airlines will say that its just a Boeing 737 for a while and problem solved.
I'm really looking forward to fly on the MAX again.

Norwegian is closing a lot of bases to go back to profitability, mainly because of the MAX issue, that forced them to lease lots of expensive planes that took them to looses... Madrid is one of those bases. =(

Hola! Te llevo siguiendo un tiempo en el canal aunque no me hayas visto ni oido. Una duda que me surge, sabes donde se podría conseguir un vuelo SUPER barato, con ida y vuelta el mismo día? Es que soy un fanático y vuelo mucho en simuladores y tal, y hace 1 año y medio que no vuelo y es que viendo tus videos me recuerda la emoción de esos días que tuve.. Soy de Navarra y no me importaría irme a Bilbao u otro aeropuerto pero no muy lejos. Precio barato me refiero por menos de 15€ cada viaje. Muchas gracias :)
Pues para hacer eso, una de las mejores opciones que tienes en España es hacer un Barcelona-Mallorca-Barcelona o al revés. Esa es posiblemente la ruta más barata que hay con horarios que te permitan hacer eso que dices.

Norwegian seems to be on a cost cutting spree.. They recently scrapped all their US destinations from my home town, Stockholm. And now you have to pay extra for cabin luggage that doesn't fit under the seat in front of you. Hopefully it means they can be profitable in the long term. But it means I will use them less since every ticket is now about 30 euro more expensive one way :/
Yep, that's part of their plan to be back on profit soon. However, I think they will undo those things as soon as the MAX will be flying again. That will help them a lot! :)

The onboard service was, as in every low-cost airline, a pay-per-eat model (you can see the menu at 9:45 ). However, the free WiFi onboard is an amazing add!! :)
I like Norwegian, but I always fly easyJet cause they fly from my home airport, Norwegian doesnt

I think that the new CEO is working very hard to reorganize the business to return the company to profitability. There has certainly been less news of thier struggling. Routes which are not profitable have been discontinued.
