My beautiful days as a teenager at the age of 14 were decorated by the glory of Diego Maradona in 1986, so it has made a big impression on my life to this day, which is 51 years old. Our family's joy when we watched live on National TV of the Republic of Indonesia when Maradona et al beat West Germany in the final with a dramatic score, 3-2, is my family's all-time privilege. For almost a month during the World Cup between May-June 1986, the conversation in my hometown was mostly about Maradadona. Sadly, some of my family members (Dad, Mam, Sister and Brother-in-law) who watched the final have gone forever and so have Maradona. Always cry remembering those good times....

@@phucnguyen560 Maradona's performance in this game belongs to history for sure. He is one of the greatest players in the history of this sport without a shadow of doubt. However, if it's not out of nostalgia and personal preference, there's no way Maradona is better Messi. This is the most easiest comparison in football since the two players get the same style of play even if the era is different. With all due respect to Maradona, Messi has been playing on this level week in week out for over 15 years. Messi is a very enhanced version of Maradona. This is not an opinion but a fact. Purely on football basis(I don't talk about extra football which many people do when they compare the two players), Messi is better than Maradona.

@@AbedCruz btw. Messi hasn't reached the level of Maradona in 1986. Messi may be faster and more accurate. But remember that modern soccer can train with lots of experience before, plus nutrition and healthcare are even better than before

But far from being worse, the level has incredibly improved to reach a tougher and better level of competitiveness. The prime of Messi took over a decade. He dispalyed the level of Maradona 86 week in week out for over a decade. This isn't even a debate if you really watch football.

If you get red carded for trying to stop a goal being scored with your hand, you'd be surely red carded if you were found to score with your hand.
